Do THIS Every Morning to Improve Your Focus, Mood, and Productivity

Hal Elrod shares the SAVERS morning routine: Silence, Affirmations, Visualization, Exercise, Reading, Scribing. He credits it with helping him survive leukemia, double his income during the 2008 crash, and win a 52-mile ultramarathon. The routine works in six minutes or an hour.

It's not about waking up early. It's waking up better. Every successful person on the planet swears by at least one of the SAVERS, and most do 2 or 3. They exercise and they read books. Well-meaning self-help gurus have taught us one of 2 methods that are faulty.
Your life experiences, or even some of your near-death experiences, how did that support you in creating this work?
I woke up to the sound of my mom screaming on a Saturday morning. My baby, my baby. God, don't take my baby. There were so many days, Jim, where I wanted to die. My depression, it faded away because I went, oh, if I start every day like this with this much Clarity and motivation and energy and gaining new knowledge to apply, it is only a matter of time before I develop myself into the version of me that's capable of turning my financial situation around and my life around. 3 steps that I teach to create affirmations that are practical, actionable, and produce measurable results. Step 1.
What if the treasure that you seek is hidden in your morning routine? This is gonna be a hot one because this is a question people ask, you know, about what do you do first thing in the morning to be able to get the most, to feel your best, be able to perform your best throughout the day? And, you know, you hear these phrases like, if you wanna win the day, you have to win the, the first, you know, hour of your day. But how many of us actually consciously design that routine? And is it something where you need like a lot of expensive equipment and do all this and take 4-hour morning routine, or is there or something you could do to kind of jumpstart your mind before you hop into the reaction of the world. That's what this episode is about. Welcome back to the Kwik Brain Podcast. I am your host and your brain coach, Jim Kwik. And today we are gonna talk about how to have a miracle morning. And when I say that, you know our guest is none other than Hal Elrod. He's a friend, and I say this because we've just been spending a lot of time together all around the world, which we could talk about. Many of you know he's a bestselling author, He's a podcast host. He's an acclaimed speaker. I mean, so many different things. And he's the creator of the Miracle Morning, which is a movement. It's a global movement that millions are a part of. And so we're going to talk about this. And I think this is an important podcast to listen to because it's something we all, I think, sometimes struggle with or are confused about or aren't intentional about. And then all of a sudden we wonder the whole day, got away from us and we just wonder like what happened today. And so this is something that I think you wanna share with your family, your friends, and most importantly, put into action. So welcome to the show, Hal.
Jim, it is good to see you again.
Again.
For the 3rd time here in the last month. You and I have been, like you said, traveling the world together.
Yeah, it's been fun. Everywhere from Greece to Estonia.
Now Nashville.
We're in Nashville. We're gonna be in Connecticut together for Limitless Live.
Yeah.
Which you're a featured speaker for. We're very excited about that also as well. What would you say is your mission?
There's a professional mission and a personal mission.
Okay.
And of course, there's overlap, but the professional mission is to elevate the consciousness of humanity one morning at a time. And that's grandiose sounding, but when I actually explain what I mean by that, the question is, well, what does it mean to elevate your consciousness? Our consciousness, to elevate it, it's elevating our intention and our awareness. So, how aware we are of how our thoughts, words, and actions impact our life and the people around us, and then how intentional we are about those thoughts, words, and actions so that we can intentionally impact ourselves and the people around us. And so, that's the big picture, and that's what the Miracle Morning, it does. It helps people elevate their consciousness every morning so they can show up at their best for the people they love and the people they lead. And of course, the finger goes back to, right, we're the first person that we need to love and lead every morning.
Right.
And as millions of people around the world start their day with that level of awareness and intention, we show up better for our families and our team members and our employees and our neighbors and people at the grocery store, right? We're in a peak physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual state to start the day. And we show up better and it impacts, you know, the ripple effect is immeasurable.
Is there one where it's personal also as well?
So yeah, personal is really to become the— and this, it also ties into the Miracle Morning, right? It's to become the best version of myself every day, every morning, so that I can show up as that version for my wife and for my kids and for my team and everybody else. And to me, that's what the Miracle Morning— like, it's not about being a morning person. 72% of Miracle Morning practitioners around the world, when we survey, say, before I read the Miracle Morning, I never in my life believed I could be a morning person or was a morning person or maybe even wanted to become a morning person. It's not about waking up early. It's not the 5:00 AM Club. It's waking up better. It's every person. One thing we have in common, hopefully, is we wake up every day, right? You wake up tomorrow. But it's what do you do? And I mean, your book Limitless Daily is about starting your day with the first 5 minutes where you're putting yourself in that peak state, you're learning something you can apply to your life, et cetera. So yeah, so that really is the personal mission, is to become the best version of myself so that I can elevate my consciousness and then help other people elevate their consciousness.
I read your work years ago.
Wow.
And I've gifted more than 100 copies to friends and family members because it is a game changer. Those are the people who went on our stages at our annual conference and on our podcast, people I've learned from. But when we were here about a year ago, Goodness, I didn't realize you went through so much. And for me, I took my struggles, turned it to strength. Being the kid with a broken brain, I wanted to help build a better, brighter brain daily for people. Now, your life experiences or even some of your near-death experiences from accidents to health conditions, I mean, how did that form or how did that support you in creating this work?
Yeah, there's 4 big life rock bottoms, if you will, just like life-defining moments for me. When I was 8 years old, my baby sister, Amery, died in front of me. I woke up to the sound— I was 8, she was 18 months, and I woke up to the sound of my mom screaming on a Saturday morning, my baby, my baby, God, don't take my baby. And I ran across the hall and my mom was performing, like blowing into her mouth CPR on my 18-month-old sister's little body, and she died that morning. And our family was devastated, especially, of course, my mom and dad. Within 6 months though, my mom launched a— she founded a support group for other parents who had lost children. So that planted the seed for me that when you go through a painful experience and you find purpose in that pain and you help other people, it creates meaning and it creates a whole new—
right?
I mean, it changes everything. So I didn't know at the time, of course, but 12 years later, I was a salesperson for Cutco Cutlery and I gave a speech at a Cutco conference. Driving home from the speech, my car was hit head-on at 70 miles per hour by a drunk driver. I spun off the drunk driver and the car behind me crashed into my driver's side door at 70 miles per hour. And from the top of my skull through, breaking my femur in half, I broke 11 bones on the left side of my body. And I was clinically dead for 6 minutes. My heart stopped for 6 minutes. When they pulled me out of the car, which took them an hour to use the jaws of life and pull me out. And when they did, I'd been losing blood for that hour, but the car was kind of keeping me alive with all the pressure. And once they removed all the pressure, I bled out. They revived me. I spent 6 days in a coma at the hospital, flatlined twice more. It was very critical condition. And when I came out of the coma, I was told I would never walk again and that I had permanent brain damage. That's where the 70-mile-per-hour brain hit the skull, frontal lobe damage. And I had a choice. It's like I couldn't imagine, like I couldn't even comprehend what was happening to me. But I had learned something in my Cutco training a year and a half prior called the 5-minute rule. Which says when something goes bad, whether it's a no sale, a no-show, traffic, or in this case, it was like, I'm being told I'm in a wheelchair the rest of my life. You can't change it. So you set your timer for 5 minutes, you give yourself 5 minutes to feel your emotions, and then you say, can't change it. I can't change what happened 5 minutes ago or 5 days or 5 weeks or 5 decades. The only logical choice I have is to accept my reality as it is, choose to be at peace with it so I can focus all of my emotional energy not on the thing I can't change, which where most of us like, no, this isn't fair. I don't deserve this. All my energy gets to go into what can I control to move forward? So I applied the 5-minute rule. And to be fair, it took like 5 days. It was a lot to process, but it was the— the principle didn't change. I can't change that I was in a car accident, broke 11 bones, have permanent brain damage, might be in a wheelchair the rest of my life. I can choose to be the happiest, most grateful person anyone's ever seen recovering from this accident.
Hmm.
And that is my choice. The doctors thought I was delusional because I was so positive, but it was sincere. It was like, no, I can't change it. I'm not going to waste my energy wishing it didn't happen. This is my reality. I'm going to be happy and grateful and move forward. And 2 weeks later, I took my first step. Doctors couldn't explain it. I'm like, I told you guys, I told you. So, there was that. And then you fast forward 10 years later and the economy crashed in 2008 and I lost over half of my income, half my, you know, couldn't pay the bills, lost my house. And that's where the Miracle Morning was born. It was a friend of mine. I called him for help. I'm like, Jon, I'm struggling, man. Me and Ursula are losing the house. Like, I don't know what— I'm living on credit cards. I don't know what to do. And he said, I'm going to send you a Jim Rohn audio. I'm like, dude, I don't need like a motivational audio. Can you either loan me some money or teach me how to make money? Like, that's what I need right now. He said, I'm telling you, listen to this audio and apply it. I'm like, all right. So I listened to it and Jim Rohn says one thing that lands differently than anything I'd ever heard before. Your level of success will seldom exceed your level of personal development.
Hmm.
And I realize I want, on a scale of 1 to 10, and anybody listening or watching this, Ask yourself this, if you're measuring success, however you define it, in every area of your life, as a parent, your finances, your fitness, your health, your emotional wellbeing, on a scale of 1 to 10, I think it's fair to say everybody wants level 10 or 8 or 9, like to be as happy and healthy as we can be. But then if you ask yourself, and I had to ask myself, I want level 10 success, what's my level of personal development? Which I would define that as like, what are the daily rituals and routines that I have that are developing me into the person that I need to be to create and sustain that level 10 success that I want? And my answer at the time, for most people I think, is like, it's a 2 or a 3. Like, I read here and there. Like, I start journaling. I don't feel like— I wasn't really dialed in with personal development. So, my epiphany was I've got to figure out what the world's most successful people do for personal development, and I've got to commit to the— I'm looking for the number 1 practice. And after I searched online for like an hour, I couldn't narrow it down to 1. It was 6. And I almost threw in the towel, Jim, because I was like— I don't have time to do all of these. And then it was like God's voice or like this little epiphany. I was like, what if I didn't choose one, but I did the 6 most timeless, proven personal development practices first thing in the morning to start my day in that peak physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual state? I go, that would accelerate my personal development like nothing else so I could become the person that could create the success I want. And within 2 months of doing the morning routine, it wasn't called the Miracle Morning. It wasn't a book idea. I had no idea I would tell it to other people. I doubled my income at the height of the Great Recession. The economy got worse. I got better, doubled my income in 2008. And I remember the moment I went to tell my wife I signed on a couple of coaching clients. I go, sweetheart, I signed on 2 coaching clients today. She goes, thank God, we need money. You know, I go, no, no, no, you don't understand. This is monumental. We've officially— that second coaching client, we have more than doubled our income since I started doing the morning routine. And I can completely draw the correlation on all the books I'm reading, the affirmations I'm creating, the visuals, everything. It's all led to this. It feels like a miracle. And without skipping a beat, she goes, it's your Miracle Morning, sweetheart.
Oh.
I go, I like that Miracle Morning. And then I taught it to my coaching clients. Most of them were like, I'm not a morning person. They came back to their call 2 weeks later, oh my gosh, Hal, I'm having the best week in my sales career. I'm running. I'm this. And that's when I went, wait, if this Miracle Morning thing that I just kind of made up a couple of months ago, if it changed my life this dramatically and I wasn't a morning person, And it's 13 out of 14 of my coaching clients came back with similar responses. I have a responsibility to share this with the world. And the rest is history.
Wow.
My big fear is it's not artificial intelligence, it's that our natural intelligence will become artificial. I am in Greenwich, Connecticut, and in September, this place is going to be full of people just like me and you, creators, entrepreneurs, professionals, lifelong lifelong learners, leaders. So 3 days before this epic gathering, something very personal is happening. It's the release of my brand new book called Limitless Daily: 366 Keys to Train Your Brain, Master Your Mind, and Win Every Single Day. I spent a couple years writing this book. Now my team asked me a question: what if this wasn't just a book launch? What if we could launch a movement? And that's what this gathering is. So right here on the other side of these doors is where 1,000 people will gather from around the globe to hear from some of the brightest minds in neuroscience, in human performance. We'll have brain biohacking from the father of biohacking, Dave Asprey. We're going to have the Human Garage. Gary's going to be here with 2 dozen of his facilitators helping each and every one of you to release that tension that can be messing up and distorting signals and energy to our brain. We're gonna have thought leaders like Steven Kotler, who's the master of flow.
You've heard me say that your life is the sum total of all the choices you've made up to this point.
And you make a new choice, if you're heading this direction in your life, you make the decision to go this direction, like Greenwich, Connecticut, you know, getting the book, simple little choices, you end up in a completely different destination. And so my team and I, we absolutely cannot wait to celebrate with you. In Greenwich, Connecticut, September 11th and 12th. All the information is at limitlesslive.com. And while this event's all about becoming limitless, tickets are limited. So make sure you secure your seat, invite your friend or your coworkers, because how do we become limitless in a limited world? We do it together. And I promise you, this will be the start of your expedition of Limitless Daily. It'll be a gathering. You won't ever forget.
And I gotta close this loop. What was the— what was the fourth thing?
Yeah, I was wondering if you're— I was like, is he gonna remember? Jim will remember. Um, yeah, man, I mean, this was the most unexpected, uh, at 37 years old. Uh, I— so it's every 9 years. I'm trying to break the 9-year curse. Every 9 years I have— 9 years car accident, 9 years later, uh, financial crash, and then 9 years later I was diagnosed the rare An aggressive form of cancer, acute lymphoblastic leukemia. It's got a 20% to 30% survival rate. So at 37 years old, I had a 7-year-old daughter and a 4-year-old son, and the doctor is telling me, as my heart is failing, my lungs are failing, my kidneys are failing, which is how— why I ended up in the hospital. They said, you've got a 70% to 80% chance of dying, essentially, right? 20% to 30% survival rate. And if you don't start chemo today, you have about a week before your organs completely shut down and you die. And if you do chemo, it's going to be 700 to 800 hours of chemotherapy, and it will most likely kill you. So, those are your two. Either you die in a week or you probably are going to die if you trust us. And so, what I did is I, A, I took 100% responsibility for my healing.
Hmm.
And I told my reversal, I said, sweetheart, I said, I know you're scared. I mean, she's more analytical. I'm more like faith, emotion, you know? And all she's seeing is like the survival rate, like, I'm going to lose my husband. And I said, sweetheart, this is how I'm seeing the statistic. There's a 100% chance that I will be among the 30% of the people that survive this cancer because I will relentlessly research, pursue. I have faith. I will do everything and I will apply every holistic practice. I won't just do the chemo and I'll find out how do I detox my liver from the chemo.
Mm-hmm.
So, I applied every holistic practice. Arguably most importantly and most relevant, the Miracle Morning, all 6 of the SAVERS practices, which we can get into, all of them were focused on one outcome, beating cancer. In 2008, all 6 practices were focused on doubling my income, and I did it in 2 months. A year later, I focused all 6 practices on running a 52-mile ultramarathon because I committed to do it to raise money for charity, and I hate running. So I had to overcome major limiting beliefs and physical limitations. It worked. And I'm like, and every goal that I applied the Miracle Morning to, including selling a million copies of Miracle Morning, I apply all the practices to, it works. So I'm like, sure, I'm going to apply my SAVERS, my Miracle Morning, to saving my life. And I have no doubt that there's a 100% chance that it will work like it's worked for everything else. And I'm in remission for 10 years now and live to tell about it.
This is why you're speaking at Limitless Live. This is why we had you on the podcast. This is why I share the book all the time because of this. I think the life we live are the lessons we teach. So I want to thank you for that. People are dying to know what SAVERS is. So maybe we could break each one down. Yeah.
So when I came up with the 6 practices, there wasn't an acronym, right? It was me writing the book and my wife. I go, sweetheart, I'm so frustrated. I have these 6 practices. I didn't invent them and I can't— how do I connect them? And she goes, get a thesaurus and see if you can make an acronym by switching some of the words.
I love acronyms.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. You do. You're the acronym man. And so my wife's my muse, by the way. She literally named the Miracle Morning. She thought of the idea So, meditation was the first practice of the 6. It became silence.
I like it.
The last practice was journaling, how you, at the end of the day, and I'll go through how I do it, right? But it became scribing, right? And the other words were the same, A for affirmations, V for visualization, E for exercise, R for reading. So, silence, affirmations, visualization, exercise, reading, and scribing. And for anybody watching, like, just so you're clear, these can be done in an hour or 6 minutes. Like, there's a chapter in the book called The 6 Minute Savers, where it's like on days where you go, I don't have time to spend 5 or 10 minutes on each of the practices, do 1 dedicated minute of silence to get calm and centered for the day. Pull out your affirmations and we can— I'd love to unpack those because I don't teach affirmations the goofy way that, you know, I'm a money magnet, like none of that.
Mm-hmm.
But 1 minute is all it takes to like, okay, this is what I'm committed to, this is why, and here's what I'm going to do today. Boom, I'm dialed in. Visualize yourself doing, mentally rehearse doing the thing that you just affirmed. Exercise, do 60 seconds of jumping jacks. Okay, I'm awake, heart's pumping, blood and oxygen to the brain. Pull out your book, read 1 page, read Limitless Daily, 1 page, so you can have something you can apply for the day. Pull out your journal, write down your number 1 priority for the day that you're committed to. That's 6 minutes.
Wow.
And you can, but most people do 30 minutes or an hour so they can go deep in each of the practices. But to quote my friend, Robert Kiyosaki, author of Rich Dad Poor Dad, he's read The Miracle Morning at least 3 times last time we talked. He goes, everyone, every successful person on the planet swears by at least one of the SAVERS, and most do 2 or 3. You know, maybe they exercise and they read books, right? He said, but in my 30 years of personal development, he said, I've never met anyone until I read The Miracle Morning that did all 6 of the SAVERS practices as part of a daily routine. He said, the reason I think you named the book correctly is, he said, I've been doing it now for, I think at the time it was like 3 months.
Wow.
And he said, any one of the SAVERS will change your life, but when you do all 6, he goes, I do believe it creates miracles. He said, I'm experiencing miracles in my health, my business, and my relationship. And if you look at pictures of Robert Kiyosaki, when I gave him the Miracle Morning, he was like, I don't know the exact weight, but like he's 50 pounds heavier than he is now. And he attributes the weight loss to his Miracle Morning practice.
What I like about it is whether it's 6 minutes or 60 minutes, right? It doesn't cost anything. It's as much time as you want it to be that morning. The 6 elements are in order to create a new habit and routines. There's not a lot of friction. Which of the ones do you think— I'm not going to ask you which one gives the most return because I'm sure it's individual.
And I do want to mention that you can do the SAVERS in any order because that's a question I get a lot.
That's great.
When I wake up, I usually do them in a pretty close to the right order because I like to start with silence and meditate when my brain is still calm and it's easier to get in that meditative state. But on days where I go to meditate and I'm like, dude, I am so tired, I will move E to the front and I will stand up and I will do 60 seconds of jumping jacks. My normal workout's like 5 minutes in the morning. I go to the gym later, but I have my morning Miracle Morning workout, but I'll move that to the front. So that's one. I want to unpack affirmations because I think that has the biggest misunderstanding of all forms of personal development. Because well-meaning self-help gurus have taught us one of two methods that are faulty. Number one, lying to yourself, right? Which is like, if you want to be wealthy, just say, I am wealthy. I am wealthy. If you're broke, if your bank account's negative, if you're in—
right?
Like, you can't affirm something that you don't resonate with as true, doesn't resonate with you as true. So, you can't lie to yourself.
Right.
Now, it might be better to say, I'm wealthy, than, I am broke, for the rest of your life. There's probably a net positive, but lying to yourself is never the optimal strategy. The second problem with affirmations is we're taught to use this flowery, passive language that promises a magical result independent of any effort. There's a very popular affirmation that says, I am a money magnet. Money flows to me effortlessly and in abundance. And that's not how money works. I've never met— I've interviewed, so have you, a lot of wealthy individuals. I've never met anyone. How'd you do it? Dude, I just magnetized myself and then I sat back and money flew to me effortlessly and in abundance. Like, that's not how it works. You have to create value for the world. You got to talk about it, right? So people have a really bad interpretation because they're like, yeah, I've done affirmations. They're cheesy. I don't— you know, it's goofy, it's not authentic, etc., etc. 3 steps that I teach to create affirmations that are practical, actionable, and produce measurable results. Step 1, affirm what you're committed to.
Hmm.
In life, you don't get what you want until you elevate that want, that desire to a non-negotiable commitment. If you want to be wealthy, great. Don't affirm that you want to be wealthy. Affirm that you're committed to becoming wealthy or get specific. I'm committed to earning $100,000 this year or increasing my revenue or my income by 20% or 50% or whatever. Affirm what you're committed to. And this is such an important thing. What you affirm repeatedly becomes your reality. So, on day 1, when you say, I'm committed to doing blank, and let's say that blank's outside of anything you've ever done before. That affirmation on day 1 might be laced with a little fear. I'm committed to running a— for me, running a 52-mile ultramarathon. I've never run more than a mile and that was in high school. I'm like, so the first day I'm like, I don't know. I don't know. But after I affirmed that day after day after day after day, guess what I became? I became committed.
Yeah.
What I affirm repeatedly became my reality. Step 2, affirm why it's a must for you. So, and for me, this is like 3 to 5. It could be 1, but I like 3 to 5 reasons. I pad mine with bullet points, right? I do my affirmations on, you know, Microsoft Word or Google Docs. When I had cancer, I was committed to beating cancer no matter what. There was no other option. That was step 1. Step 2 had 5 reasons why. Number 1, for my wife, because I promised her forever and a day. That was one of our wedding vows. Number 2, for my kids, because they need their daddy's love, guidance, and leadership, and I'm committed to watching them grow up and being a grandparent to their kids. Number 3, for my mom and dad, because they already lost a child and don't deserve to lose another one. Number 4, for myself, because damn it, I deserve to live a long, happy, healthy life as much as any other person on this planet. And number 5, for the millions of people who are themselves battling cancer or some other disease and may not have the knowledge or resources that I've been fortunate to stumble upon. And they need— it's my responsibility to overcome my cancer so I can help them overcome their challenges. I share those with you because I want people to have a blue— like, that's 5 very specific, compelling reasons. There were so many days, Jim, where I wanted to die. Not that I wanted to die, I didn't want to fight anymore. I was so sick from chemo. I was so miserable and in pain and exhausted. And I read those affirmations at least once a day, every single day. They were printed on my bedside table. They were on my phone. And when I read those, I was like, I just shook it off. I was like, it's not even about me. It doesn't matter if I'm tired. It doesn't matter if I don't want to keep going. I'm doing it for my wife, for my kids, for my parents, for myself, for humanity. And step 3? Affirm which actions you will take and when you will take them to ensure that you move closer to that commitment every single day. This formula, it's like your Limitless Formula where you can't leave one out. If you affirm what you're committed to and why it's important, but then you don't do anything, right? You're going to actually feel worse about yourself because you're like, God, I am saying I'm committed and I know why I should be, but then I just go about my day the way I always have. Well, now you're affirming, I'm going to do this exact thing. It's at the exact time on these days. And again, what you affirm becomes your reality. So you're affirming your commitment, you're reinforcing the why, and you're clarifying the what you will do to ensure that you follow through. And to me, affirmations are the most important of the SAVERS because now everything revolves around that. Now I'm reading books that are supporting me to learn what I need to learn so I can do the things I'm committed to do to get better in that area. I'm mentally rehearsing myself doing what I just affirmed. So I would see myself training for the marathon, right? So all of my affirmations or all of my SAVERS are supporting kind of the affirmations. The A is like the anchor as well. Affirmations are the anchor for what the rest of your Miracle Morning is supporting you in doing.
That was an incredible mic drop moment. I feel like this is a masterclass. This is like in, what was it, Harry Met Sally? It was just like, I want what she's having, that kind of thing. Like whatever you're on, I think everyone listening and watching, they want They want what you're on. So what's the best way for people to go start their Miracle Morning? Where can they go?
Yeah, of course you can buy the book wherever books are sold.
I recommend it.
You can listen to the audiobook. I read the audiobook. This is the updated and expanded edition, by the way, just to be clear. The original book came out a long time ago. This book just came out year before last. It's the updated edition with 70 new pages of content. MiracleMorning.com is the hub for all things. So there's a Miracle Morning movie, a 90-minute documentary featuring Mel Robbins, Brendon Burchard, Lewis Howes, Robin Sharma. And it captured my cancer journey because I was diagnosed halfway through filming. And when I called our director to say, hey, the movie's on hold, he's a friend of mine. He said, Hal, this is the movie. It's a documentary. Like, I'm going to come film you beating cancer. I was like, let me ask my wife. That wasn't part of our plan. But, but yeah, the film you can watch. So miraclemorning.com is the hub for everything, or you can just go directly and buy the book.
All right. There you have it. Kwik Brains. Highly recommend you go to the website. You go deep in Hal's work, you know, and I'm just so blown away. He—you are—you're an inspiring force of nature, an unstoppable force for good. And and and and and I just want to reiterate this: when when we have guests here that do something, overcome adversity multiple times, you know, some people say, "Well, that person is special." I I think Hal would agree that what he's saying is that this this is available to to us. It says sometimes, you know, we're motivated and we're going through hard times, and some things we can only learn in a storm. Sometimes we just don't have the resources, you know. And what I admire about you, Hal, is that you've gone through it and, you know, you've taken that wisdom and be able to share it with humanity, you know, so people can be more conscious and realizing that, you know, sometimes when we go through struggles, we develop strength. We go through challenge, we get change.
Jim, I want to say one thing based on something that you just said about how, you know, I really— I don't think that I'm special. I think that no more so than that we are all special. You and I are so similar. When I read your work, I'm like, we have such similar philosophies and mindsets and approaches to the morning and so on. But here's what I wanted to say. My very first Miracle Morning, which again, wasn't called the Miracle Morning, it wasn't anything. It was just— it was these 6 practices that became the SAVERS. My very first Miracle Morning, like it took me 2 months to double my income.
Mm-hmm.
But I went from being depressed for 6 months where I felt hopeless. I couldn't figure out how to turn my life around. And at the end of that first Miracle Morning, which was an hour long, my depression, it faded away because I went, oh, if I start every day like this with this much clarity and motivation and energy and gaining new knowledge to apply, it is only a matter of time before I develop myself into the version of me that's capable of turning my financial situation around and my life around. So I went from being depressed for 6 months, feeling hopeless, considering taking my own life, to on day 1, this is it. This is the one thing that's going to change everything. And then every day it was like I couldn't wait for the next Miracle Morning. So that's what I want for people.
This is perfect. I imagine a lot of people listening to this exactly, maybe the timing, you hear sometimes what we need to at the moment we need to. And what I love about the morning is there's a new dawn. right? The sun's coming up and we need to be able to shine for— like you talk about your wife, your kids, for your parents, for yourself, for humanity.
Yeah.
You know, it's one of the things where I feel like, you know, if we don't do that, you know, if we're not shining and like the sun on both of her books, you know, and I think the world needs that. It's an often dim world sometimes. So I want to thank you so much, not only for what you do, but the manner you do it. Thank you for your friendship and thank you for sharing and giving your time and your talents, your warmth and your wisdom to our community. If you're watching this also in time, Hal will be keynoting our event, Limitless Live. So you go to limitlesslive.com and see all the details there. And make sure you go to the website. We'll put everything as we always do in our show notes, jimkwik.com/notes. Thank you.
