How to Change Your Life | Jim Kwik

Jim Kwik teaches his Limitless Model, a framework built on three forces: Mindset (your beliefs), Motivation (purpose plus energy plus small steps), and Methods (how you learn). He identifies eight barriers that block action, from fear to analysis paralysis, and shows how 1% daily improvements compound over time.

Change your brain, change the world. So how's everybody doing?
Good.
Outstanding. So much respect for you who are here. You've put some of your travel, your tuition, your your time, your treasure to be here. My goal is to make this short segment— I want this to be as valuable to you. You feel like you got so much value out of this one session that it was worth all of that just for coming for this one session. And that's my commitment to you because I respect how many of you sacrificed to be here— time, money, opportunity, something. And so I really value that. And I don't want to betray your trust on that. And I want to make sure that you don't betray your own trust. We give 100%. This is the last kind of stretch, and I want to make sure you really milk this for everything that it's worth. Now, what I'm going to talk about— I had a presentation set, but I really, I don't want to talk about the same stuff I've talked about in the past. I tend to talk about how to remember names, how to speed read, how to learn faster. And truth be told, all that's online. Like, 95% of the stuff I publish is absolutely free. It's on YouTube or— Anyone listen to our podcast? Has anyone— who's seen me speak live before? Actual live? Okay. So what I would love to do is actually, what would make this particularly valuable for you that you feel like this session alone? Because I think all the sessions leading up to here were worth it individually for you to come out for if you're applying what you learned. What would What keeps you from applying what you learn, right? Because knowledge by itself is not power. It's potential power at best. It only becomes power when we what?
Act.
When we utilize it. So how many of you have actionable steps to put into play on Monday? Raise your hand. Because that's the only difference that makes a difference, right? Everybody's here at an event that's themed around change and changemakers, but change is Change can be painful. Is that true? Right? The brain isn't really organized to change as much as it is to be able to survive and keep it safe. And so change can be painful, but I'll tell you what, nothing is as painful as being stuck somewhere where you don't belong. Can you feel that?
Yeah.
And so can you, everyone, just write down 2 or 3 things that you're gonna do when you leave this event? Tactics, something that you learned, maybe you're referring back to your notes. I want to turn this more into a workshop. What are 2 to 3 things that you gleaned— insight, instruction, some form of inspiration, maybe a tool, a technique— that you want to put into play? Now, as you're doing that, honest to God, how many of you feel like you're going to— you're not really sure, maybe you're doubting if you're going to follow through on those things? That you've had an incident where you listen to a podcast, you read a book, you talk to a friend, and you decide you're gonna do something, but you don't actually do it consistently, right? And I think consistency is power. That if you're persistent, you could achieve it, but if you're consistent, you get to keep it. You know, the challenge though is we've put a lot of energy outside of ourselves where we make excuses, we complain, and the truth is We can't be upset by the results we didn't get from the work we didn't do. And so what I really wanted to talk to you about over the next few minutes is really the process of change and the process of unlimiting ourself. Like, where does that limit exist? And so does anybody want to share in terms of like something that you want to apply when you leave here today? Maybe you want to make a public declaration about it and a concern you have in terms of following through. Maybe raise your hand. I don't know if you have— do we have mic runners here? Not sure. All right, what keeps us— shout it out loud. Like, this is a very intimate group here, and these are— you are all high achievers. You self-selected to be here. You're here when you could be doing something else. What's the difference that makes the difference? What keeps us from changing?
Rejection.
Rejection. What else? Habits.
Habits.
Fear.
Limiting beliefs.
Limiting beliefs.
Overwhelm.
Overwhelm. What else? Drama.
Drama.
No accountability.
No accountability.
Analysis paralysis.
Analysis paralysis. How many of you suffer from that? The kind of the data clutter? Just a little bit or a lot? So what I want to introduce everyone to is a model that I created called the Limitless Model. And if you've heard me talk about— you definitely haven't heard me talk about it at Archangel before, but I would love for you to see yourself in this, if you will, okay? So everybody draw 3 intersecting circles, like a Venn diagram, like maybe Mickey's 2 ears and a head. And this slide's— I've never used slides in my life, so I don't even know how to use this thing. There's only 2 buttons, so that's good. And I saw Stephanie, Dr. Stephanie, on this before. I don't know what the zone is. So this is what I'm looking at here, the Limitless Model. And this is my explanatory schema in terms of why we don't follow through and what limits us. So I want everybody to think about an area of your life that you want to change, but you haven't been so successful at that up to this point. Where do you feel stuck? Like, maybe it's an area of your wealth, maybe it's an area of your career, maybe it's in your mental health, your relationships, your ability to learn. You feel stuck there, you feel like you have a horrible memory, you're not motivated. What area do you feel like you're not making progress? Because limitless is not about being perfect. Limitless is about advancing. It's about progressing beyond what you currently are demonstrating or beyond what you currently believe is possible. Does everybody have— because I want to make this personal— does everyone have something in your life? We all do if you're healthy, right? There's an area where you're just not maybe making as much progress as you hoped. And so where do you feel like you're in a box? Now, everyone draw like a 3D box. The 3-dimensional box there to represent that. Now, a 3-dimensional box, 3D, there are 3 forces that contain that box, right? The 3 forces I'm representing by these 3 M's on the screen. And the first one is your mindset. These are the 3 forces that keep you stuck. And these are also the 3 forces that will liberate you out of those limitations also as well. Because this is a framework that I use when I work one-on-one with clients, and it could be done at a micro level or a macro level. It could be used for your family, for your community, for your team also as well. It could be applied towards a nation, you know, or even a world. But mindset is the first thing. And how would you define mindset? If you hear the word mindset, how would you describe that?
Pattern of thinking.
A pattern of thinking. What you choose to believe. And I love the word choose. There's a quote in my book from a French philosopher that says, life is the C between B and D. Please write that down. Life is C, the letter C between the letters B and D. B stands for birth, D stands for what? Death. C, what's in between? Life. Choice. That our lives are the sum total of all the choices we've made up to this point, good, bad, or indifferent, right? Where are we gonna live? What are we gonna focus on? What we're gonna eat? Who we're gonna spend time with? And I believe when it comes to choice that these difficult times, they could define you. These difficult times, they can distract you. These difficult times, they could diminish you. Or these difficult times, you know what, they could develop you, right? But ultimately, we decide every day. You know what? Every single day is great because it's a fresh start. You wake up and you have a chance and you have a choice every single day, right? And that's the beautiful thing about life. You can make another choice and one step in another direction can completely change your destination, right? You step left, changes your destination, right? Or some people call it their destiny. So, I'm always looking for those small little choices. And I think it starts first with our mindset. For mindset, I describe as the set of assumptions or attitudes. They're assumptions, beliefs, or thoughts, and attitudes around something. Your mindset around— I'll tell you what 3 things are in there. Write these down, please. What I believe is possible will fall in your mindset. What I believe I'm capable of. You could believe it's possible for somebody else to build 100,000 followers or make this kind of money or have this, somebody that you admire, but you might not believe it's possible for yourself. And then you're still stuck in that box, right? Does that make sense? So if somebody comes to me, which 3 people did today, and they come to say, Jim, I have a really horrible memory. You know, I'm getting too old, I'm not smart enough. And I always say, stop. If you fight for your limitations, you get to keep them, right? Because your brain is this incredible supercomputer and your self-talk is the program that will run. I'm not good at remembering names, you're not gonna remember the name of the next person you meet because you programmed your supercomputer not to. If you truly understood how powerful your mind is, you wouldn't say or think something you didn't wanna be true. And that's not to say you have one negative thought and it ruins your life any more than eating that one donut ruins your life, but it's the consistency of it, that pattern, right? So, the mindset, set of attitudes, assumptions about something. Does your mindset your attitudes, assumptions about money affect your progress in that area? Yes or no?
Yes.
Right? So, if you have negative thoughts about it, then you could still be stuck even if you're doing the right things. And that's what a lot of people, they haven't reconciled, right? And so, that's the first area. So, it's about unlimiting those lies. And I call them lies because everything stands for— it's an acronym for me, Limiting Ideas Entertain. That's what a lie is, a limiting idea that you're entertaining. It's not true that you're not smart enough. It's not true that you can't start this business. It's not true you can't develop, discover, and develop a loving relationship. It's just something we're energizing and we're giving it power, but it's complete BS. Belief systems. So, your belief systems fall underneath your mindset. Now, somebody could have a limitless mindset, but you notice the second circle there In the blue is motivation, right? Because you could have a limitless mindset about, I can remember names, I can read faster, I could build this business. Test, test, test. But you're not motivated to do any of those things. How many people struggle with that area? How many of you sometimes procrastinate? Raise your hand. Right? Look around. So the idea here is why do we put things off that we know we should do, right? You know if you should journal or meditate or read every day or exercise or all the things that you learned even today as a reminder, but we don't do it, right? Because common sense is not common practice. Common sense is not common practice, but it's the only thing that changes, right? And so it could be very hard because I think, you know what? Life is difficult for one of two reasons. Either because you're leaving your comfort zone and life gets hard, right? Or life is hard because you're staying in your comfort zone. Does that make sense?
Yeah.
Because like when I think about motivation, I think about purpose, I think about drive. And it starts for me, there are 3 keys for limitless motivation. And this goes for yourself, this goes for your kids, This goes if you want to motivate someone to buy. This goes if you want to motivate somebody to— your children to clean their room. You need 3 steps, 3 parts. And here's the formula: P, the letter P, times E, times S3. P times E times S3. Now, for those of you familiar with my work, what does the P stand for?
Purpose. Purpose.
So, how many of you want to be better at— how many of you came here like to have a better memory? Raise your hand. How many of you came here, forgot why you came here today? But remembering names, is that important in business? Yes or no?
Yes.
A little bit or a lot?
A lot.
Because how are you gonna show somebody you care for their future, their health, their family, whatever it is you have to offer them, if you don't care enough just to remember Remember what?
Their name.
Their name. So purpose, the P, to be motivated, right? You come up with a reason. Ask yourself, why do I wanna remember this person's name, right? And here's the thing. Some people say, I've heard that before, or, that's so simple. What keeps us from mastery or a level of expertise and effectiveness is this idea like, oh, I know this already, right? Because the people who are really amazing at what they do, Genius leaves clues. And I really do believe that those people who exhibit genius levels of proficiency, knowledge, skills, ability, results in their life in any area, they never get bored of the fundamentals, right? And so going back to this, ask yourself, why do I want to remember this person's name? Right? You have a purpose. You have maybe to show the person respect. Maybe it's to make a new friend. Maybe it's to get a referral. Maybe it's to practice these things. that I learned at Archangel. If you can't come up with a reason, what's gonna happen?
You forget.
You won't. You won't remember. Write this down, reasons reap results. If somebody doesn't have a reason to buy, they're not gonna do it, because it can't even be intellectual either. Because a lot of you know why intellectually, but if it just stays here in your mind, people don't often change. In fact, how many of you were in sales or some kind of business development or you still starting your own business. People don't buy logically, they buy what?
Emotionally.
Emotionally, and they justify logically because we are not logical, we are biological. You've heard the other speakers earlier today talk about dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, endorphins. So we are this chemical feeling soup, but it has to go from your head to your heart to your hands. That's the success formula. That's those 3 Ms. Mindset's head, right? The motivation is in your heart, and the methods is what you're doing with your hands. But if you are procrastinating and you have a vision of your life in your head, and you have KPIs, you have goals, you have vision board, whatever it is in your— you have affirmations in your head, but if you're not acting consistently with your hands, then check in with the second H, which is your heart, right? That's why all learning is state-dependent. Just like all life. If you don't feel it, you're not gonna remember it. If you don't feel it, you're not gonna do it consistently. Right? And so, I'm always trying to tap into this. So, you can know it here, but if you allow yourself to feel it inside, then you're more likely to follow through. So, that's the P, is purpose. The E in the formula stands for what?
Energy.
Energy. How important is it to have energy to follow through and be motivated? When you don't get a good night's sleep, how motivated are you the next day to do things? If you ate a big processed meal and you're in a food coma, right? You ate all this junk food, and it's not even like junk food. There's junk and then there's food. But if you're in a food coma, are you very motivated to be able to work out or to read 30 minutes that day and to study your field? No, right? So you have to optimize your energy. And so what are you doing each day to be able to Remember this, here's the lie we tell ourselves, going back to mindset. You don't have energy. You're like, Jim, that's my problem. I have no energy. You do it, right? Just like you don't have focus, you do focus. There's a process for focusing. Just like you don't even have a memory, there's a process, a 3-step process for memorizing something. But sometimes we put ourselves in a trance by using the words saying, I don't have these things. So what you do, this is about transcending, you know, this today, tomorrow is about transcend. It's about ending the trance. Like, where did this hypnosis come from that you're not enough or that you're not worth this or that you can't do this? For me, you know, I remember I had, you know, I had a head injury when I was 5 years old, led to learning difficulties. And I remember, you've heard me say this before, when I was 9 years old, a teacher was coming to my defense because I was being teased for slowing down the class pretty harshly by the other kids. And she pointed to me and said, leave this kid alone. That's the boy with the broken brain. You know, and how many of you, how many of you have kids? Raise your hand. How many of you once were a kid? Raise your hand. But how fast are children at learning? And children sometimes are one-time learners. And for me, I didn't, I wasn't born with this idea that I had a broken brain. It was imprinted. And here's the thing, like, our beliefs were shaped by our experiences, by our external environment, by the expectations of others, you know, and then that's real. And the challenge is adults have to be very careful with their external words because they become a child's internal words, right? And so to be conscious and mindful of the words that we're using on a regular basis, and especially when it comes to ourselves. Like, when you say, I don't have energy, what if you took a noun and you turned it into a verb? And I think that's a big success principle for creators, right? Because the future belongs to the creators. You take the nouns in your life, which are static, and you turn them into verbs. So, I don't have energy, I do it. I generate energy, right? I don't have focus, there's a process for focusing. And then you learn that there's a method behind what looks like magic. When somebody has an incredible level of energy, or they have incredible levels of focus or success, there's something that they're doing, because genius leaves clues. The idea that if anyone's great at something, you could figure out what's their mindset, motivation, and the methods they're using to be able to create that result. That's why we do a lot of podcasts on energy, how to optimize your sleep, how to be able to manage your stress, what are the best foods. foods that are, you know, the area of neuro nutrition, because some foods actually cause stress and other foods actually help mitigate and be able to reduce stress and anxiety in your body. And all this information is out there again, but my thing is, I know many of you, many of you have forgotten more about success and personal development than most people outside this room will ever learn. And I feel like you owe yourself So, this idea is using this deep immersion, right? Coming back here to where there's no distractions around your positive peer group to make those kind of choices. Because what if you fast forward 5 years from now? Here's a thought experiment for those of you who are motivated to stay the same for fear. Use fear to your advantage and say, what if you fast forward 5 years? 5 years or 10 years and your life is exactly the same. How does that feel? For most people who would come to an event like this, they're probably not very happy about it. And what little things can you do? Because people don't realize little by little, a little becomes a lot, right? Even giving 1 extra percent each day adds up to big things, meaning that if somebody is Let's say somebody gives what their normal 100% is, but they go one step above and they go 100, like 1.01, and then you do that exponentially over whatever. Let's say maybe it's 30 days, then you have like over 365 days. How big of an impact is that? Just improving just 1% compounded over 365 days. If you do the math, it's like over 30 times the kind of results. But here's the challenge. If you do, let's say, 1% less every day, and you're only doing like 0.99 to the 365 power, you're almost down to zero, right? But that's the power of compounding, right? Little by little, a little becomes a lot. So those little things that you do each day add up to big things. And that's really the point. So going back to energy, what's the little things you can do to generate energy? And then finally, P times E times S3. S3, 3 S's, small simple steps. And I'm obsessed with this idea. You know, what are the tiny little things you could do? So maybe, because I found that somebody could have limitless purpose and still not be motivated because they lack energy, or they can have limitless purpose and maybe limitless energy and still not follow through because they're overwhelmed because of analysis paralysis, because they're confused. So how do you break things down into small, simple steps? So the example that you often hear is about working out. Let's say you want to motivate someone to work out, or do you want to motivate yourself to work out, and you can't get yourself to go do an hour workout. Maybe that's too big. So what's a small, simple step? A 10-minute walk. A 10-minute walk. What else?
A couple of jumping jacks.
A couple of jumping jacks, right? Putting on your running shoes could be a small, simple step, right? Getting yourself to the gym could be a small, simple step, right? If you can't get your kids to floss their teeth, and there's obviously a correlation between oral hygiene and longevity, flossing one tooth. Or if you can't get your kids to clean the room because it's overwhelming, like most of you look at the business or your goals as overwhelming, Putting one sock in the hamper, right? Because little by little, little becomes a lot. Even marketers, right? How can you break things down into small, clear, small, simple steps, develop consistency and commitment along the way? Because a confused mind, they don't buy anything, right? They don't do anything. So how can you break things down into small, simple steps? And the question I ask myself to come up with my small, simple step, this one question: What is the tiniest action I could take right now that will give me progress towards this goal where I cannot fail? And I would write this down, I'd put it on a Post-it note, because whenever you're faced with a decision or a dilemma, you know, we get frozen, right? We go into fight or flight and we freeze. And maybe it's just, what's the best use of this moment? Or what's one tiny thing I could do right now that would give me progress towards this goal? And it's so tiny, it's so effortless, you can't fail. And that's what I'm obsessed about. Also, when you're faced with a decision dilemma, I wouldn't even ask, what do I need to do? I would step back and say, who do I need to be at this moment? If you're frustrated, if you're fearful, or any of that, every action that we do is more of a reflection of who we are showing up that day. So it's not even like having a to-do list. Imagine having like, this is my to-be list. These are the 3 things I'm committed to cultivating in myself. And so I have my to-be list. And so limitless motivation comes from purpose, it comes from energy, and breaking it down into small, simple steps. And then finally, you could have limitless mindset. Everything is possible. I deserve it. I'm capable of it. Limitless motivation. I have the purpose. I have the energy. I have small, simple steps, and still not do it because you don't know the overall methods or the strategies to be able to get to that next level. And that's where the methodology comes in. And you're learning a lot of methodology also from the speakers. These are tactical things you could do. Now, this is the instruction part. Now, I just wanted you, as you're looking at this model, mindset is possibility, motivation is purpose, method is the process. This is— how do you do this? All right. So, where mindset— I'm gonna give you— I tend to alliterate everything, 'cause the human brain kind of— one of the ways you learn things is by chunking and by patterns. And so, you have 3 M's, you also have 3 I's. And I would draw this out, even if you take a picture of it. Now, by the way, when it comes to note-taking, how many of you prefer digital note-taking? And how many of you prefer to handwrite notes? How many of you prefer digital? Okay, what about handwriting notes? Raise your hand.
Wow.
Now, at universities, when people are tested for the 2 things that matter, comprehension and retention, understanding it and recalling it, handwriting notes actually shows scores higher across the board. And we could go into reasons why, but you search my name, take, you know, search my name on Google, how to take notes, And you'll see tutorial videos on this. Digital notating is great, but the idea is you take a picture and you don't really revisit it. But I would handwrite this out, this model. So here are your 3 I's really quickly. I'm going to end with an exercise. Where motivation crosses— where mindset and motivation cross over at shared space is the first I, which is inspiration. And the reason why this is just It's not necessarily right. This is a framework, right? It's a way of looking and viewing the world. So, you have more distinctions than other people. And the person who has the most distinctions in any situation, all other things being equal, has the most power, has a greater advantage, right? For those of you who study game theory and gaming. So, that's inspiration. Inspiration what? Changes your mindset about what's possible, right? You see an inspiring speaker, watch an inspiring movie. Your belief system has opened up, and there's some motivation there, right? There's a little bit of drive. The challenge is somebody could be inspired, but what is it not going into? The methods, right? So, they can be inspired, but they don't know what to do. After that, where motivation crosses over with— well, which one's the next one here? Where motivation crosses over with the methods, That's the second I, which is implementation. Implementation. And that's what? Implementation is you're taking action because you're motivated and you have the methods. And some of you are in that place also. As you're going through the 2 or 3 things you're going to execute when you leave here, some of you have the right mindset and the motivation, but you're still not clear on the methods. to get you there in the finances, in the health, in the career relationships, and the branding, and so on. You might have motivation and you might have the methods, but you could still be stuck in a box because you're limited in that 3D form by your mindset. You might not believe it's possible. You might not believe you deserve it, right? Or you might not believe you're capable of it. And then finally, the last I is ideation. Where mindset and methods cross over, you have the third I, which is ideation. Mindset is, it stays in your mind. You believe it's possible. Method is, you know what to do, but it just stays an idea because that's not touching the what? What's left out?
Motivation.
Motivation, right? You're lacking the motivation. Now, where all of them collide in the middle, that's really the limitless state. And that's really the goal that I wanna help people to get to, where they step into their power, because that's where they've unlimited more their mindset, their motivation, and their methods. Now, this is a work in progress, right? Because learning, like life, is sometimes messy, and it's never that clear-cut. But here's the thing, my goal, my only goal from this session is, if there's a gap between where you are and where you wanna be, meaning there's a And this is about redrawing the borders and boundaries about what's possible so you could change, you know, for the better. Then it gives you a lens to say, hey, I'm not making progress here, or this person's not making progress, this client or this family member. Is it a mindset issue? Do they not believe it's possible? Do they not believe they're capable of doing it? Do they not feel like that they deserve it? And then you could address it with whatever modality, right? You could use EFT, right? How many of you are familiar with tapping? You could use self-hypnosis, EMDR. There's so many different tools once you know what to address, right? Or somebody could say like, hey, this person has the right mindset, but they're lacking motivate— they're lacking the purpose, right? They know it intellectually why they should meditate, why they should read, or why they should exercise every single day or buy or whatever. but they're not feeling it, right? Or maybe they lack energy. They're just exhausted and they have to prioritize self-care. And this could go on a macro level also, because this could be a country, right? A country has a set of assumptions and attitudes about something, about what's fair, about money, or about power, right? Or it could be some people in leadership, they don't feel the purpose Or they don't have the energy or the resources, which could include capital, or they're making it really, really super complicated, not breaking it down into small actionable steps. And that could be for your kids also as well. And then finally, maybe the methods you're using, you have limitless mindset and motivation, but you're using old methods of marketing, old methods of sales, card closing, or copy, or eating, or fasting, whatever it happens to be. For me, it happens to be old methods. Most people are using old methods of reading, right? And that's why when we train people to read 3 times faster with better comprehension, they don't even think it's possible. So, I have to deal with their mindset and create videos around addressing that, or give them reasons or purpose to break things down into small, simple steps, because they're using methods that they learned when they were—
How old were you?
Are you born with the ability to read, for instance?
No.
How old were you the last time you took training, though, in it? How old were you in class, taking a class called reading? 6.
6?
So the difficulty and demand has increased a lot, but how we're reading it is the same. So we live in an age of autonomous electric cars, spaceships, going to Mars, but our vehicle choice when it comes to learning is often like a horse and buggy. So in this case, it's about upgrading the methods. A lot of people use, for memory, rote memory, and they just— how many of you, to memorize something, you just just repeat it over and over again, that phone number, that passcode, that PIN number, that name, right? But that's a very old way of doing it. And insanity is what?
Doing the same thing expecting different results.
Doing the same thing expecting different results, right? So, you're using old methods. So, my message for everybody here is, in times of fear or crisis or trauma, whatever, most people are— they downgrade their dreams to meet the current situation. And what I'd like to offer you is the opposite. Is what if you upgrade instead of downgrading your dreams to meet the current situation? What if we upgraded our mindset, our motivation, and the methods we're using to be able to meet those bold, audacious dreams? Does that make sense?
Yes.
All right. Everyone stand up real quick. We're gonna put this into action. Everyone grab a partner. One person partner. Go around, grab a partner. Whether you know them, introduce yourself or not. Raise your hand if you need a partner. Raise your hand if you need a partner. Trying to go back one slide. All right, here's the thing. We're going to put this into quick practice, all right?
Right?
Because we know when there's a boost of norepinephrine and adrenaline, and it increases alertness, actually helps you to retain memories. And so we're gonna do that. We're gonna up the level of emotion in this space right now in a way that's very functional. And what we're gonna do is there's a mindset component, there's a motivation, and there's certainly methods for doing this. Now, there have been talks today about winning, and you want to be able to win. And that's all you do is you win. And I really do believe you either win or you learn, right? You either win or you learn. So what we're gonna do is we're gonna play a game that you all know. You're very familiar with this game. It's called rock, paper, what?
Scissors.
Rock, paper, scissors. So just, do you remember this? You go 1, 2, 3, or you go rock, paper, scissors, shoot. Now, if you go like this, everyone go scissors. Scissors? This is the kinesthetic learning. Scissors. What does scissors beat? Paper.
Paper.
Everyone go paper. Paper beats what?
Rock.
Rock. Does everyone remember this? And rock beats what?
Scissors.
Back to scissors. What we're going to do is a very, very large game of rock, paper, scissors in the few minutes we have left together. And what you're going to do is with your partner, you're going to go rock, paper, scissors, and then shoot. And when you do it, whoever wins, what they're going to do is raise their hand. The other person who did not win, their goal is they're gonna cheer that person on as loud as you can. All right? Because this environment, this positive peer group is everything because winning really is about supporting other people. One thing that would change your life, sometimes in the comparison culture when we're flipping and scrolling through social media and we're comparing ourselves to everybody's highlight trailer, how many of you unconsciously, You feel that, right? Where we feel like we're not enough because the grass is greener where? Where you water it. Where you water it. The grass is greener where you water it. And honestly, a lot of things on social media, it's greener because of the filter they're using, right? Or it's greener because there's a lot of artificial turf out there in social media land. And so what I'm gonna ask you to do is do the opposite. Like, what if you found— what if you rejoiced in the success and happiness of other people?
Right.
Because you train your nervous system that, hey, when somebody's doing well, first of all, there's abundance of opportunity. And because if you start resenting, then you're sending yourself— you're rewiring your nervous system like, hey, if I do well, other people are gonna resent me. So, as you see the person you hurt in that equation. So, what you're gonna do is you're gonna do rock-paper-scissors. Whoever wins raises their hand, and the other person, you're gonna follow that. And that person's gonna find somebody else raising their hand, and they're gonna battle with that person. Right? And every single time, if you do not win, you're cheering on to the person who did. So, and then as a group, and then what you're gonna do is you're gonna follow them around, and at the end, we're gonna have 2 people. Half of the room's gonna be cheering for one person, the other half will be cheering for the other. But here's the thing though, shh, you really have to cheer. What's the sound you make when you win? Go.
Woo! That's right.
What's the sound you make when you lose? Oh, that was really organic too. All right? So get with your partner and you're going to keep on going. Ready? You're going to go 1, 2, 3, shoot. The winner's going to go like this and then the other person cheers that person on.
Go.
Go, go, go. Find another person to play against. Raise your hand. Find somebody else who's raising their hand. Go.
Keep going, keep going.
Louder, louder.
Raise your hand if you're still in the game.
Raise your hand. Find, circulate, go, go, go, go. Walk around, find somebody else. Walk around, find somebody else. Hi, raise your hand high. Cheer them on, go, go.
What?
Raise your hand, find somebody else, keep the battle going. Who's still in the game? Raise your hand, who's still in the game? Go, go, go! Cheer them on! Raise your hand if you're in it. Raise your hand if you're in it.
Keep going.
Raise your hand. Find somebody else. Raise their hand. Work your way up to the front. Who else is still in it? Who else is still in the game? Raise your hand high. Raise your hand high. Raise your hand high if you're still in the game. Raise your hand high. Who's left? Anybody still in the game? Raise your hand high. Who's in it? One? Anybody else in the game? That's it? Let's give a round of applause. Let's go. The whole room.
Amazing. All right. Remember, remember this. The goal here is not to— as you cheer everybody else on, right, we get the endorphins, dopamine, the serotonin, we build oxytocin and connection. How do you become limitless in a limited world? We do it all together. Thank you very much, everybody.
Thank you.
