Nootropic means anything that's gonna make your brain work better, just to make it simple. But it improves intelligence, it improves recall, long-term memory, short-term memory, communication between the right and left hemisphere.
Your brain is so sharp. One of the things I would imagine you attribute that is your nutrition.
Standard American diet is gonna kill you. Your ability to recall both long-term memory and short-term improves dramatically.
They're gonna have greater levels of focus, memory, mood, but also a peace of mind knowing that this is also supporting their brain as they age.
So it has a soothing Stabilizing effect on brain chemistry during the whole day. Besides, it's an antioxidant for the brain too.
What about focus and memory?
When you start using Kwik Mind, what you're getting is you're getting—
The statements of Dr. Oz Garcia in this podcast are his own opinions based upon personal and professional anecdotal experience and supported Dr. Oz's own research of clinical studies. None of the ingredients contained in the Kwik Mind product are claimed to treat any disease or health condition. Consult your own physician before commencing a nootropic regimen to ensure that this product is appropriate for you.
Welcome back, Kwik Brains. I am your Hi, I'm Jim Kwik. Hi, I'm Jim Kwik. And in this episode is part 2 on the power of nootropics. What ingredients could help level up your focus, your memory, your mood, your energy? This is the number one requested topic that we have in our community. What can people do to provide nutrition for their brain beyond the omega-3s and the vitamin Ds and your vitamin Bs? Things that could really give you a mental edge. And in the last episode, we highlighted 2 of those ingredients. And in this episode, we're going to talk about 3 more of my personal favorites, ingredients that I've been on for years now, thanks to the person sitting next to me. We have Oz Garcia.
Jim, how are you?
He, for the past 40 years, is an acclaimed nutritionist, anti-aging longevity expert. We met years ago in 2016 speaking at a Longevity Conference in Italy. And he's a bestselling author. He has an amazing clinic here in Manhattan, New York, and he's helping so many people with his work. So he helped the big announcement in the last episode is after 30 years, we launched a brand new product. It's our very first supplement called Kwik Mind, which is a formula of 5 ingredients to help with your mental energy, your mood, your memory, your focus, and so much more. It's something that we have our entire team consuming, my family, our coaching clients. And this is the thing that if you are looking for something to give you an advantage, to help you get level set, to help you get in the right mind space to catch up, keep up, and get ahead so you could win more, that's what this conversation really is all about. So, Oz Garcia, thanks for being back.
Jim, I'm delighted.
So in the last episode, we highlighted 2 of the favorites.
That's correct.
And we'll put a link, as we always do, in the show notes. So people can find the show notes at jimkwik.com/notes. If people want to see the data, because we highlight all the human studies on these ingredients, you can go to kwikmind.com, K-W-I-K mind.com. So let's talk about the 3rd ingredient.
Sure.
This one is ashwagandha.
That's correct.
So what is it?
This particular kind of ashwagandha is called Shogun. And ashwagandha is also from Ayurvedic medicine, which is traditional Indian medicine overall. Centuries, if if not thousands of years, as a particular plant-based product that has been recognized to improve cognitive function. Now, in terms of modern science, that you can actually take the nutrients that actually do that improve and maximize brain efficiency. You're going to get them into a form called Shogun ashwagandha. So so let's say that ashwagandha, among its properties. Its primary function is to stabilize all the different neurotransmitters within the brain. So the term that we would use is it's a homeostatic element. So you're going to get normalization between serotonin levels, which is a really critical neurotransmitter that regulates your states of mind and mood. It regulates dopamine so that it's not going off the roof. You're not all stressed out. Ashwagandha is a normalizing agent. Now, that being said, We also know that it has nootropic capabilities. You mentioned the word nootropic, and it's important for our listeners to know that nootropic means anything that's going to make your brain work better, just to make it simple, right? That it improves intelligence, it improves recall, long-term memory, short-term memory, communication between the right and left hemisphere. So ashwagandha does all of those particular things as it normalizes brain function. So that you're actually thinking better with it overall. Its function, besides the fact that it's normalizing how it is that neurotransmitters work, is its ability, not unlike bacopa, to control the amount of stress hormones within the brain. Here we're talking about cortisol and norepinephrine, pretty much the same thing. So that if you're getting ahead of yourself in terms of being overexcited, overthinking things, ashwagandha has The ability to control that part of the brain that's going to make you a little bit more anxious. It actually is really good for regulating anxiety. In fact, it's really good when you take it in the daytime, working synergistically with all the other nutrients to have an effect on how you sleep, which is really quite remarkable, right? So it has a soothing, stabilizing effect on brain chemistry during the whole day. And besides that, it's an antioxidant for the brain too.
That's fantastic. So this is a highly researched ingredient, ashwagandha. We chose to put it in here because The idea here is we wanted to make it very simple for people.
That's correct.
Right, we talk about neuronutrition, nutrition for your brain to perform at its best. Just like you want to build your body, you have to give it novelty and nutrition.
Always.
Same thing with your mental muscles, novelty, always learning and reading and listening to a podcast as everyone subscribes to do. And then also you have to feed that machine with the proper nutrition to help it grow and be its best. And that's why I'm so proud to launch Kwik Mind. The stories, please. Once you get the product and you go to Kwik Mind, we have a special offer. Please share your stories because this is something— this is why we do what we do, because your success is our success. Let's move to the next ingredient, the second in this episode, but the fourth ingredient in our product, Kwik Mind. We covered the first 2 again in the previous episode. So, Cognizin.
Cognizin is coffee fruit Coffee fruit extract. Let me make a difference between coffee bean and coffee fruit extract. The way that coffee fruit has typically been used is get rid, get rid of it, right? Get rid of the pulp, get rid of the peel, and then keep the coffee beans so you can make coffee. What we now know is that the coffee fruit extract is really rich in certain nutrients that are called polyphenols and beyond. One of the primary things that we find with coffee fruit extract is its ability to actually regulate The aging brain itself too. We know that unlike caffeine, it's not a stimulant at all. So it works as a profound antioxidant and not unlike some of the other nutrients, but a little bit more so, it also tends to have an effect on dopamine. Why is dopamine so important? And as opposed to a lot of other nutrients, we know that dopamine is the neurotransmitter that's kind of, kind of, it's going to get you there.
It's the molecule of happiness. Motivation.
That's correct. And it's a molecule of flow, right? So we're going to talk about the different abilities of dopamine to actually make you that much more focused in terms of what it is that you're looking to accomplish. So coffee fruit extract, interestingly enough, also has the effect of mitigating stress too, something that you wouldn't expect from what you would think is coffee overall. This enhances the function of All the other nutrients that we were talking about, the alpinia galanga in particular, they seem to actually work with great synergy too. So in terms of getting that kind of focus overall, coffee fruit extract is really quite remarkable.
And because it has the word coffee in it, the coffee fruit extract, it doesn't have caffeine.
No, if you were to measure it at all, there's maybe less than 0.1% caffeine in it, which is in large measure Of no consequence whatsoever. So it's not a stimulant. And and and what it is, though, is something that allows you to actually think with spatial capability in ways that enhances the effects of everything else that's in there. What do we mean by by thinking spatially better? That means that if you're being creative, if you need to work on a project where you're writing, if you're an artist, if you're a student, and you need to be able to to deal with multiple elements on your desk, whatever that may be, then you're thinking spatially much better, right? And I want to make a distinction between that and multitasking, right? Where you and I would agree you can get into trouble. So I think that that's also a great benefit of using coffee fruit extract.
Let's go into the third and final, or the fifth ingredient, if you were, is phosphatidylserine.
Phosphatidylserine. Well, the first part gives it away, you know, phospho. Right there we're talking about the fact that it is a fatty acid compound. L-serine is an amino acid that improves thinking. L-serine seems to be very protective against things like dementia and Alzheimer's. Phosphatidylserine seems to be unbelievably protective in that capacity, right? So we're talking about phosphatidylserine feeding the neurons, feeding it with the right kind of nutrients that actually protect it against aging. Right premature aging, the the damage that's incurred from being on the planet for about thirty, forty, fifty, sixty plus years overall, but also the fact that there seems to be a direct link between the use of phosphatidylserine and the protection of the fatty acid molecules and layers around neurons themselves. That's critical for any kind of product of of of this of of of this construct, and I think phosphatidylserine. Besides everything we just said, is also an antioxidant too. So we're talking about something that offers overall brain protection.
Which is great because people want to take a product that they experience. They're going to have greater levels of focus, memory, mood.
That's great.
Enhanced energy, but also a peace of mind knowing that this is also supporting their brain as they age. You know, having lost my grandmother to Alzheimer's when I was a child, you know, I'm in my 50s. If I may, you're in your 70s, you're still seeing clients and patients and very active. Even when you're talking about this, you know, there's no teleprompter or notes. I mean, you just, your brain is so sharp. And one of the things I would imagine you attribute that is your nutrition.
That's correct. So let's just say that, and you and I talked about this earlier, that you want to have certain practices and protocols in place, right? Among those is is what it is that you eat. Standard American diet is is going to kill you, right? That that's a diet that's rich in carbohydrates and sugar, processed fats, processed foods, and a lot of a lot of what we're consuming is also now, as you know, filled with all sorts of forever chemicals and microplastics and all all these kind of anti nutrients. So when you move over to a whole food diet. And to me, that would actually be something more down the middle, like a Mediterranean diet, where you've got a combination of plant-based foods, high-quality proteins, rich in omega-3 fatty acids, rich in olive oil and all the components there. On top of that, when you're eating really well and you start using KwikMind, what you're getting is you're getting even a highly quantifiable impact on how well you're going to do in your day. There's just no question about it, right?
You're right. I mentioned in the last episode I ran out of product for a few days when I was traveling and I felt the difference. This is something that we have people taking every single day and what I like about it is we designed it to be simple. Since a lot of Limitless was based on habits and taking common sense and making it common practice, you could certainly go out there and buy these 5 ingredients, but that's— I mean, you're taking like 5 pills and then on top of it, it's costing a lot. This is a fraction of the cost. And it's a clean product, meaning it's non-GMO.
That's right.
It's a vegan product.
Correct.
There's no sugar in the product. It's gluten-free also as well. So the goal here is, you know, we wanted— because our community was requesting it and we didn't see a good viable recommendation, is we did the work, put together a board of scientists, experts like yourself. Now this formula specifically, these ingredients I've been taking You know, for the past almost 8 years.
That's right.
With you. So I appreciate that because, I mean, I know your mission is nutrition, right? And I like the alliteration of it. You know, our goal here is to make something simple, very effective, something that is safe and that you could feel an immediate benefit. What would you say experientially people would experience after being on Kwik Mind?
One of the most central things to using Kwik Mind is a highly measurable effect on your states of mind and your mood, right? So let's not walk around that. We know that, you know, in a day you're going to go through all sorts of moods, right? Things are going to go right, things are going to go wrong. But what you want is you want a steady state where, for the most part, you're experiencing a greater sense of wellbeing, right? And I want to caution people to think that this is going to solve all your mood problems, but it certainly is going to work to actually drive the neurotransmitters.
And which increase? What ingredient in Kwik Mind is responsible for that elevation in mood?
I would say bacopa for sure, ashwagandha for sure, and an extra, because an extra is increasing energy within the brain. So that's really important. And that the brain itself can function with much greater clarity and focus. That alleviates a lot of needless suffering. And I want— we need to underline that, right, Jimmy? Yeah.
And that's— it's all good. And stress also. You know, when everybody wants to feel good, they want to feel better also as well. What about focus and memory?
Let's just say that we already know based on the data and the human studies that have been done on all these nutrients that your ability to recall both long-term memory and short-term improves dramatically. The stereotypical, you know, where'd I put the car? Where'd I leave the kid? Where are my keys? That kind of stuff. Improves dramatically when you're using particular nutrients like this that are actually feeding the particular nutrients that build a better brain, right? So we talked about this brain-derived neuronal trophic factor. That's an enzyme and it's a protein that builds a better brain, right? Builds better baby neurons, but it also enhances neuroplasticity. To the extent that your brain is able to adapt better to its environment, and its demand to actually take in information, then you're dealing with much less stress and suffering overall. And your capability to actually stay focused increases dramatically. That's quantifiable.
Fantastic. Well, Oz Garcia, I want to thank you for your support in formulating Kwik Mind, your contribution there. I want to thank you for your decades of service to the health and wellness and longevity of you know, the world, because I know you have clients everywhere. I want to thank everyone for watching and listening to this episode. If you'd like to go deeper and look into this product and consider it, go to kwikmind.com. Again, I've never talked about a supplement or recommended this particular supplement in my career of over 30 years. One of the reasons why is I want to be responsible. And, you know, we had a lot of people every single week send us products to promote and to pitch, but You know, this is something that we really want to safeguard and protect our community and give them something that is affordable. So this is a fraction of what if you looked and wanted to buy these separate ingredients. Instead of taking 5 different pills, you could just do 2 a day. And it's a fraction of the cost of buying the individual ingredients. It's non-GMO, it's gluten-free, it's a vegan product, no sugar, no caffeine. We're very proud of all the factors that went into this. And this is something that our team takes, just 2 a day, very simple, doesn't take a big behavioral change. My family, our high-level coaching clients, and we wanted to make this available to our listeners and our community because this is the number one question that we get is what supplements can enhance my brain's performance, my focus, my mood, my memory, my mental energy and vitality. And we hope that this product will fortify you because whatever you nourish flourishes, and we want you to nourish your most valuable asset, which everyone who's listening knows is your brain.
Correct.
So, Oz Garcia, thank you so much for being on our show again. Thank you everybody for watching. If you want more information, again, go to kwikmind.com. You can see the human studies that we referenced there, answer your questions. We have a special promotion going on right now to celebrate this launch. And most of all, tell your friends. If you benefit from it, anything you heard here today, make sure you share it. And so you learned something, so how it could benefit you, but you learn it how it could benefit those that you care about. So this is your brain coach, Jim Kwik. Until our next episode, be limitless.
