In this conversational segment, Jimmy Kim explains how AI is already saving significant time for email‑related work. He highlights that AI can automate the entire reporting process—pulling metrics, comparing weeks, and summarizing results—in minutes instead of hours. This automation frees team members from tedious spreadsheet work, allowing them to focus on creative tasks. Beyond data retrieval, Jimmy describes AI as a thinking partner that can surface follow‑up questions and insights, such as flagging a drop in open rates and suggesting deeper segment analysis. The overall impact is higher productivity, less burnout, and the ability to ask smarter, data‑driven questions that were previously too time‑consuming or required specialized skills.
Where do you think AI actually saves you time? Like time you'd maybe bill a client for, or time you'd spend on the weekend doing stuff with family in real life? Like where is AI legit today? You think?
It's in reporting by mile, right? Pulling numbers, comparing weeks, summarizing what happened. That used to be a Monday morning ritual that ate 2 hours of my every morning that now I can get done just in like 2 minutes right now with the right questions and the right connections of data.
For us, it was having team members, dude, every single week across the 6, 8, 12 clients they were working on handle this. You could tell they had They weren't happy. Now taking that off their plate, dude, they're just so much more productive because when you're not doing the manual grind of going into accounts, writing stuff in a spreadsheet, you can actually be creative. So, and with that, I think the bigger unlock is like the ability to ask follow-up questions because again, pulling the report's easy. It's mind-numbing, but it's easy. But actually understanding and knowing what to ask when you have the data and the report available is the hard part. And I think AI is actually pretty good and pretty helpful at that. So they could call things out like your open rate dropped 4% last week. Do you want me to run a check to see if a specific segment drove that. And then you're getting like you almost have now a thinking partner, right? That's the kind of thing that like someone on the team probably didn't have the bandwidth or maybe the skill set, or that now you have a companion that actually understands the big data and isn't going to get exhausted and fatigued.
Yeah, I would call that a junior analyst, right? Like that's really what an AI is really great for. And that's the work shift that I want everyone to hear right now. It's not that AI writes my emails, it's that AI helps me think faster what's happening in my email program. 2 total different things.
