Jimmy Kim explains why AI-generated emails sound robotic: marketers skip the human editing step. Use AI for the first 80 percent of the draft, then spend 20 percent refining it with personality, voice, and humor. AI is a drafting tool, not the final author.
Here's one fear that I hear from people is that they believe that AI content feels robotic or generic. How do you prevent that?
I hear that a lot as well. That is a big fear and I do think it has validity. It only happens when marketers skip the actual editing step. So the rule, again, doubling down on this, is AI is focused on the first 80%. You're focused on the refinement of the final 20%.
So in simple layman's terms, AI is the first draft, not the final draft.
The 20% that you're going to do yourself, that is where the magic happens. That's where you add the personality, the brand voice, kind of the human emotion. Or the comedy, right? The specific product details and even focusing on like the strategic pitch. Is there something that you do better than anyone else?
