030 LinkedIn Live 2024 with Joe Apfelbaum // evyAI.com Tutorial

In this solo LinkedIn Live session, Joe Apfelbaum reviews his week, shares his personal productivity and mindset philosophy, outlines a detailed LinkedIn content strategy, and demonstrates the Evvy AI Chrome extension. He emphasizes a growth mindset—viewing every event as beneficial rather than a victim narrative—and stresses the importance of journaling to review and edit thoughts. Joe reveals his ambitious goal of hosting 244 LinkedIn Live broadcasts per year to sharpen his presenting skills and deepen audience connection. He breaks down nine distinct LinkedIn post formats (text, image, video, poll, document, Live, event, article, newsletter) and lists the thematic topics he regularly shares. He provides concrete posting metrics (278 posts in 90 days, 1,000+ impressions per post) and argues against limiting posting frequency. The bulk of the session is a live walkthrough of the Evvy AI extension, showing how it can summarize profiles, tag connections, generate comments, draft posts, send personalized messages, and manage lists. He also covers pricing ($29/month or $15/month annual), the free tier, and the affiliate program, encouraging viewers to try the tool and engage with his community.

Live with Joe Applebaum. I'm so excited that you made it here today. We're not going to be able to talk for long. It's Friday afternoon, and I'm getting ready for a very restful weekend. I had a very long week, but I'm excited that you made it here today for just a short little time with me because my goal is to go on LinkedIn Live every single day, 244 times a year, every weekday. And today's Friday and I almost didn't make it today. My day started off pretty early. I had a very, very busy, very busy day today, but I still made it on LinkedIn Live. I made it a priority. I put it in my calendar. I put it for the last thing that I was gonna do today so you can enjoy listening to my conversation over the course of this weekend. So let's do a little bit of a week in review. I posted a lot this week. I've gone through a lot of stuff. I posted about the saga with the lawyers and the trademark issues and all this stuff going on. I've left a lot of comments on LinkedIn. I've created a lot of community and fortunately I was able to connect with people. and build real relationships. And looking back at the week, I would say that ending off the week with our extension back on Google is very successful. We've had some pretty good moments, you know, the downs, the ups, all the stuff. And so looking back and thinking to myself, you know what? Everything that happens is really for the good. Right? Do you agree with that? Do you agree with everything that happens is for the good? It's a mindset that you can take on. If you don't take on the mindset of everything happens for you, you're gonna think that everything happens to you. And if you think of the mindset that everything happens to you, you end up getting stuck in that, like, victim mentality. Do you want to have a victim mentality? As I swing this door shut, look at that. Here I am. Here's my little, um, my little backdrop. You don't want to have a victim mentality. Instead, you want to have a strong mindset that you control your own destiny by controlling your thoughts. And by controlling your perspective and by controlling ultimately your actions. So let me ask you a question. Do you take the time to review your thoughts? How does one review their thoughts? Well, you review your thoughts by writing them down. If you don't write down your thoughts, how are you supposed to know what you were thinking? I take the time to journal, to write my thoughts. And when I write my thoughts down, I'm able to edit my thoughts in the future. If you don't write your thoughts down, you're not gonna be able to edit your thoughts down into the future. I wrote about the books that I've read last month and the books that I plan on reading this coming month. I've had AI edit many of my videos. Artificial intelligence now edits my videos. And creates little snippets. I've done many seminars. I've closed clients. I just closed a client today, and I'm preparing myself to have a wonderful brand new week. Take the time, sit down and measure. If you want accountability, you have to have the ability to account. How many posts have you posted in the past 90 days? I posted 278 posts. And out of those, 29 of them were LinkedIn Lives. I plan on going on LinkedIn Live 244 times this year. That means 20 times per month at a minimum. Why? Because I wanna take my presenting skill to the next level and also connect with my audience in a special way. Taking your posts and having AI analyze those posts can be really helpful. There are many themes to my posts. But here are the types of posts that I post. You ready? There are 9 types of posts that you want to post on LinkedIn. Number 1, text posts. Number 2, image posts. Number 3, video posts. Number 4, you want polls on LinkedIn. Number 5, you want document posts. Those document posts rank really well with the algorithm. They could be carousel documents or PDF documents. You want to go on LinkedIn Live. You want to do event posts. You want to do LinkedIn articles. You want to do LinkedIn newsletters, which are separate than LinkedIn articles, but within the article framework. Think about what are your favorite types of ways to express yourself? Do you want to do it in writing? Do you want to do it in audio and video? Here are some posts that I've posted in the past: networking tips, marketing strategies, business ideas, book recommendations, inspiration, LinkedIn tips, personal development thoughts, reels and shorts, event recaps, AI tips and tricks. What types of posts and themes would you like to see more of? Let me know by leaving a comment below. Now, I don't know if you know this, but I've had the artificial intelligence edit my posts, edit my videos, and it's helped me be able to share a lot. My posts on average get over 1,000 impressions per post. And someone said, Joe, slow down. Don't post so much. Post maybe once a day. I don't believe in posting once a day. I believe that posting when you have something of value to share. If you don't post when you have something of value to share, then you're holding back from your audience. Your audience wants to see you. There's, I don't believe that there's something called posting too much because you only post when you have something to share. And it's not too much to post if you're posting multiple times, per day because people will only see your posts when they go on the feed. Think about that for a moment. People will only see your posts when they go on the feed. So if somebody only sees your posts when they go on the feed, what's the problem with posting many times? I post about my books, High Energy Networking, High Energy Marketing, High Energy Purpose. I post the event about the events that I'm going to be doing. I did an event at WeWork. An engaging seminar. I'm going to be posting another one. I posted pictures of me and my connections. I posted about my gym routine because my gym routine is a very big part of my life right now. So I want to encourage you to start posting more often, start engaging more often, start connecting with people, start building real relationships. And if you start doing that, you're much more likely to be able to Build those connections, grow your business, and take your life to the next level. So what is your plan? What are you going to do with LinkedIn? We just launched our new Evvy AI extension right on LinkedIn. So I want to show you what that looks like. I'm going to show you right now what it looks like. Let me share my screen for you guys to see my entire screen. Actually, I'm just going to share my window. I'm going to share my window. All right, so hopefully you can see the window to my soul right here. Here's the window to my soul. So I click on My Network. Can you see that where I click My Network? Yeah, I see that you can see it. And when I click My Network, you can see I have 29,436 connections. You see that? My most recent connection is a guy named Joe Kruger. Joe is based in Chicago. See, this is his profile here. It looks like he's in Vistage. Um, he works for a consulting company. Looks like he might be a business coach, empowering business to succeed. He's also the VP of Engineering Operations at Spec Engineering. Now what I'm gonna do is I'm going to send him a message. I'm gonna say, thanks for connecting on LinkedIn. I'm gonna say message. Oh, look at this. Thank you for upgrading to EvAI Premium. He said, oh, Joe, thank you so much for taking out. Let's make most of this AI journey together. I'm gonna say, absolutely. Did you download the new extension? Extend. Okay, did you download the new extension? Now I'm going to save his profile into Evie AI. Do you guys see the way I click Save Profile in the right corner? Now that it's saved the profile, I'm going to create a summary of his profile. I'm also going to add him to a list. I'm going to add him to Evie AI Premium and Premium Engaged. Okay, so now I added him to Evie AI Premium I'm gonna scroll down and I'm actually gonna take a look at his most recent post. I see he posted 6 hours ago here. I really like that he posted 6 hours ago. I click on show more. It actually shows his post. He posted in this group called the Brain Expansion Group. I'm gonna go back and I'm going to scroll up to the top. I'm gonna click on this little dropdown and I'm gonna click on summarize profile and it shows me his entire summary. You see, It shows me he is a seasoned business coach with a focus on helping businesses achieve growth. I love that. Okay, I'm going to close this. I'm going to click the dropdown. I'm going to click on see recent activities. It's going to show me all of his recent posts. Now, once I can see all of his recent posts, see, that opened it up in a new tab. So I'll load the new tab. Once I could see all his recent posts, now I could start liking and I could start commenting on his posts just like that. See how quickly I'm able to comment on his posts. Okay, it says, Joe, you're spot on with your Socratic wisdom. So I'm going to click on that and I'm going to hit post just like that. Okay, we're waiting to hear back. She's waiting to decide between 2 venues. It's likely to be, uh, the one in Dulles. Okay, we should have the address and more details on Monday. Perfect. Okay, now I'm going to click on View Profile. I'm going to take a look at my own profile. And as you can see, I have 6,000 profile views. You see that? 6,005 profile views. So I'm going to take up my most recent profile view. I'm going to Ctrl-click on this, Ctrl-click on this, and I'm going to load this guy Oliver's profile right here. He's from Switzerland. You see that? Uh, and I'm going to click on the more button here. You see, I'm gonna click on the more button and then I'm gonna message Oliver and I'm gonna tell Oliver, thanks for checking out my profile. See that? I sent him a message. By the way, if you want to notice me, if you want me to notice you, leave a comment right now in this Google— in this live. Do you want me to notice you? Just hit right, uh, leave a comment right now in this live. I'm curious to know if you're here and where you are dialing in from. I am gonna comment myself. I'm gonna write, I am dialing in from NJ. You'll have access to an amazing AI assistant that can help with 6 things. And it breaks down the 6 things. And there's even a social media post that is related to the Evvy AI Chrome extension, just like that. So if you wanna be able to post about this, you can post about it. So now what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna copy this and I'm going to paste it into a comment over here, and hopefully it'll fit. It says it doesn't fit. I'm gonna go here, I'm gonna cut this out. I'm gonna leave it as a post, I'm gonna post it as a comment, and then I'm gonna reply to this comment and put the rest of the post here. I'm gonna roll it right, and you see that I just commented on my own comment. You can comment on a comment, really cool. I'm gonna go here, I'm gonna, instead of most relevant, I'm gonna click most recent. I will load the most recent ones. So now it's loading the most recent ones. Love that. So I absolutely love using LinkedIn because LinkedIn gives me a lot of information that I can't get anywhere else about my connections, about people, about how to, how to leverage LinkedIn in a positive way to be able to make an impact on people's lives. I have so many amazing connections right now that I'm building relationships with. He said, hi Joe, I'm hoping we connect here on LinkedIn to peer some knowledge for each other. Let me know if you'd like to chat. Looking forward to hear more. Please check out my AI called eviai.com. Would you be open to checking it out? Okay, and I'm gonna press send and I just sent Travis that message. Now let's look at Travis's profile. And let's learn a little more about Travis. Travis is based in Greater Houston. He has 14,000 connections. That's awesome. I'm going to click on posts to see the last time he posted. I see he hasn't posted in a while. He's been reposting stuff, but he hasn't posted in a while. Let me see when's the last time he posted. I see he reposted, reposted, reposted. I don't— oh, look, Looks like four days ago, he said, "I'm honored and humbled to be starting a new position as associate professor at Jack Welch Management Institute." So I'm going to press on comment, and I'm going to congratulate him just like that. Now I don't have to sit down and write the comment; the AI is actually writing the comment for me. I'm going to say, "Congratulations, Travis Baldwin! Your appointment, your expertise, and da da da. Wishing you best of luck." You see that? I wrote a beautiful, nice. Message just like that to him. I love that. Now let's see what else is going on. It looks like Zach Barden just liked this post. Thank you so much for the like. I appreciate it. He's a principal broker in Brooklyn, New York. Ooh, you're in Brooklyn, New York, Zach. That's awesome. I'm gonna send Zach a connection request and I'm gonna use AI to help me customize that connection request just like that. You see, I wanna write him a note, but I don't know. What I should write. So I'm going to say Zach as a fellow. So I'm not UC Berkeley as a fellow LinkedIn connection. Let's synergize. I'd love to connect further. Okay. So now I just sent him a connection request just like that. I'm also going to take a look to see if he's posted anything. I see he hasn't really posted anything recently. I love checking out people's posts. to see what they've done. And I see you haven't been posting. If you want to use Evvy AI to post, I highly recommend you do that. Let's see. Oh, look at that, 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately, many agents in real estate— let me drop them a comment over here.
