Art Friday LinkedIn Live with Joe Apfelbaum // evyAI.com Tutorial

In this 8‑minute LinkedIn Live session, Joe Apfelbaum uses an art‑gallery anecdote as a metaphor for personal expression and then delivers a step‑by‑step guide to expanding one’s LinkedIn presence. He explains how commenting on others’ posts dramatically raises connection acceptance rates, how LinkedIn Premium’s InMail lets users message up to 800 non‑connections per month, and why regular posting (especially entertaining, art‑focused content) drives exposure. Joe demonstrates that LinkedIn Live works on mobile, shows how to repurpose a single Live broadcast into multiple short clips for other platforms, and promotes Evy AI (evyai.com) as a tool for drafting comments, posts, and messages, including training AI personas to write in the user’s voice. He concludes with a goal of 244 Live sessions per year to amass hundreds of thousands of views.

Beautiful. I don't know if you're into art. Not everybody is into art. Some people are and some people are not. I once went to an art gallery and I asked the CEO of the art gallery, I said, what do people see in art like this? Like, what is it? What is it about this art? And she said, why don't you just take a moment And stand in front of the art and experience the art and see what the art does for you. And so I sat in front of the art just like this, and I just looked at the art, and I asked myself, what am I feeling? What am I sensing? What am I feeling? What am I seeing? What am I experiencing? And I wasn't sure. That's the truth. I just wasn't sure. Some people experience something when they look at certain pieces of art, and for whatever reason, that type of art didn't really touch my heart. At all. And as much as that rhymes and it sounds kitschy, you got to find the art that speaks to your heart. For some people it's writing, for some people it's reading, for some people it's doing LinkedIn Lives. It's a form of art, sharing yourself with the world and making a difference for other people. Now, who are the people that you're making a difference for? I want you to consider that. Who are the people that you want to empower, that you want to inspire, that you want to make a difference for? For me, it's my target market, my centers of influence, the people that I'm proactively connecting with on LinkedIn. Did you know that you can connect with 30,000 people on LinkedIn? And on LinkedIn, every single person That is a connection is also a follower. This is one of the ways that LinkedIn is different than TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, is that LinkedIn allows you to be able to add connections, which become followers with the click of a button. And you can send as many connection requests as you want, but LinkedIn limits the amount of connection requests that aren't really relevant. So one way to get a lot of connections is for you to leave comments on people's posts. Believe it or not, if you find people that are active on LinkedIn and that are posting on LinkedIn and you leave a comment on their post, the likelihood of them accepting your connection requests becomes very, very high because they want connections that are engaged. People actually want you to engage on their stuff. So when you start leaving comments for people, it's a very powerful way for you to stay in touch with people, connect, and expand your network. I know someone that has sent out dozens of comments every single day, and as a result got dozens of new connections in her target market. Extremely powerful as a strategy. The other thing that you can do is if you have LinkedIn Premium, you could start messaging people. You can message up to 800 people per month that are not even connected to you. For example, when I went to go visit Paris, I messaged my connections in Paris. I have 21 connections in Paris, and I asked them for restaurant recommendations. I also messaged people that are second-degree connections that happen to live in Paris that are in my specific target market. And I was able to message dozens and dozens and dozens of those people, and I built new relationships with people that are living in Paris or that have Paris on their profile just because I reached out to people through the direct message. And then the third way to get connections is to simply post. Most people are not posting on LinkedIn. And so if you write a post on LinkedIn, you will get exposure. People are searching for content. They're hungry for content. When you post something, it goes up on the feed. People log into LinkedIn, they look at the feed. There's a billion people on LinkedIn right now. And so posting on LinkedIn could be really, really helpful. So there you have it. If you want exposure, You want to get more connections, which means more followers, you want to be posting, engaging, and messaging. Now make sure that your posts are also entertaining. For example, show people art. Take a moment and show off your art. Now you can go to a gallery like I am and walk around on LinkedIn Live and share some art, or if you have art that you made yourself, you can share that on LinkedIn Live as well. Some people think that LinkedIn Live doesn't work on mobile phones, but LinkedIn Live does work on mobile phones, and it's very easy to log into LinkedIn Live from your mobile phone. If you want to learn how to do it, just write, I want to learn how to use LinkedIn Live via a mobile phone, and I will teach you. Just leave me a comment. Also, if you're watching the replay of this, let me know what you do for a living. I'm always particularly interested to know what people do for a living, so go ahead and put that in the comments below. Using our tool Evy AI, evyai.com, it helps you draft comments, write posts, and send direct messages to people using artificial intelligence. I highly recommend you consider using Evy AI and also train it with your persona. Now we added a new feature that allows you to also get that top voice badge by dropping comments on specific types of collaboration articles. So if you go to linkedin.com/advice, you can pick a specific category there and you can start dropping comments and showing your thought leadership using Evvy AI to help you draft the initial part of your comment. Really powerful to use artificial intelligence to help you draft the first part of your comment and then of course customize it with your experience, your knowledge, and of course train Evvy AI on who you are So it starts writing in your voice. You want the AI to write in your tone and in your voice. Heavy AI allows you to create something called personas, and those personas allow you to train the artificial intelligence so you can start doing things inside your voice. Well, there you have it. This is my Friday art day. Showed you some Van Goghs, some Monets. I showed you some beautiful art. You want to see more art like this, or powerful art? Let me know. Be happy to take you around on my journeys. There's one thing that you can't do on LinkedIn Live, which is when you're using it from a mobile phone, which is flip the camera around so you could see what I'm seeing. I kind of have to show it to you from this camera angle. But I might be able to find another software that allows me to do that. And also, One of the reasons I love going on LinkedIn Live on a regular basis is because I then turn those LinkedIn Lives into video clips. For example, I was at the airport and I went on LinkedIn Live for about 15 minutes before I caught my plane. And in those 15 minutes, I was able to take that video, put it in artificial intelligence, and turn that one video into 6 different little clips for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and even LinkedIn. And I repurposed that as posts. Anyway, hope you enjoyed this short video. It was about 8 minutes long. If you want to watch the replay, just go back to my profile, click on See All Activity, and then click on Events, and you can watch all my LinkedIn Lives. Next year I'm going to be going on LinkedIn Live 244 times, and if 1,000 people See each video, I'm going to have 244,000 views on my videos just by consistently showing up live on LinkedIn and sharing some insights, sharing some advice, sharing some tips. So thank you very much for being with me. I appreciate you and I'll see you again soon. Boom.
