Give Me 15 minutes, I'll Give You 10,000 hours of Claude Knowledge

In this 30‑minute tutorial, entrepreneur Joe Apfelbaum walks viewers through a ten‑step, tiered framework (beginner, intermediate, advanced) for getting the most out of Claude AI. He begins with foundational setup—choosing a permanent personal email and importing existing AI memory—then explains how to select the appropriate Claude model (Haiku, Sonnet, Opus, Fable) and manage costly features like Research Mode. He distinguishes between memories (personal knowledge) and skills (repeatable, scripted tasks) and warns against over‑using Claude’s project silos. The intermediate section covers essential integrations: connecting Gmail and Google Calendar, installing the Chrome extension, and using the Cowork desktop assistant with its Dispatch remote‑task feature. The advanced tips showcase Claude Code for no‑code app creation and Claude Design for rapid web‑page generation. Throughout, Apfelbaum emphasizes cost‑efficiency, automation, and the strategic mindset needed to turn Claude into a personal “Jarvis” that frees up time for higher‑value work.

Listen to me right now, and I mean really listen. If you are completely happy doing the exact same soul-crushing work every single week for the rest of your career, close the tab, because the next 30 minutes are exclusively for people who want out of that trap. If you are not interested in working less, getting your precious time back, and building your very own personal version of Jarvis so you can scale your business and put an extra $100,000 of pure profit in your pocket, well then you can click away now, Because this video probably isn't for you. But if that does sound like something that you want, well then stick around, grab a pen, and take notes because that is honestly where we are at right now with artificial intelligence. I am not the most technical guy in the world. I know, I know, I run a tech company, but historically I am usually not the first mover to the super deeply technical coding things when they first come out. So last year, I had to have a proper sit-down catch-up with myself when it came to Claude AI because I definitely wasn't one of the early adopters who jumped on it on day one. But once I did, it completely and utterly changed the way I worked day to day. The biggest problem is that this incredible world-changing thing doesn't come with an instruction manual. So what happens? Most people are sitting there paying the full monthly subscription for it, but they are using maybe 10% of what it can actually do. Hope is not a strategy, people. You cannot just hope you figure it out. So in today's deep dive video, I am going to give you 10 step-by-step tips. And these are the exact 10 tips that I truly believe will take you from feeling like you're constantly behind the curve when it comes to Claude all the way to being someone who's actually well ahead of it. Now, I've actually gone ahead and split them into 3 distinct categories based on how easy they are to set up and use. We are going to walk through your beginner, your intermediate, and your advanced strategies. Let's get right into tip number 1, which falls into the beginner category but is absolutely critical: email choice. Now, this is gonna seem like something so ridiculously small, so basic, but you would be absolutely shocked and surprised at how many extremely smart professionals make this fatal mistake. When you sign up to Claude, whatever email you use, you are stuck with it permanently. Claude does not let you change the email that's tied My heart absolutely shatters when I find out that a former team member used their corporate company email to build their Claude brain, because of course when they no longer work at the company, they lose all access to it. And it just sucks. It really does. Because Claude isn't just a software tool, it is literally your right-hand person. It is an assistant working with you every single day. As time goes on, Claude is going to find out more about you. What you like, what you don't like, you're basically training it on your soul. It gets so much more powerful as time goes on. It would just be a massive, tragic shame if you built up all of that intelligence and then lost it overnight because you can't log in anymore. Make sure you use an email address that you know you are keeping for good. Alright, now that we got that simple foundational tip out of the way, I just mentioned to you that Claude gets better the more it knows you, which brings us directly to tip number 2. Doing your memory setup correctly. Just like most people starting their AI journey, I started off with ChatGPT. After working with ChatGPT for so long, it essentially became an extension of myself. It thinks how Joe Apfelbaum thinks. It understands my life, my 5 kids in New Jersey, my business, my goals, my target market, pretty much everything. Walking away from that felt like starting from absolute zero. I refused to move over. But then, I found out that Claude actually has an inbuilt import feature, and that is when I finally made the switch. If you don't know this, it's actually insanely straightforward. All you are going to do is head over to the settings menu in Claude, and under capabilities, you are going to see an import option to import memory from another AI. Claude gives you a prompt, you run that prompt in your old AI platform, you copy what it gives you back, And you paste it right into Claude. Boom! It pulls that straight into its memory, so you are not starting from scratch. But listen closely, because there's a small issue I ran into. It almost always overindexes for the boring, generic, work-related stuff and completely misses the personal, soul-level side of things. It misses your true essence. So what did I do? I got Claude to interview me directly. Essentially, you are going to prompt Claude to ask you deep questions based on different areas of your life. It's going to ask you about your personal life, your networking strategy. Now, doing this for the first time is a little tedious. Claude is going to come back with a lot of questions. If you sit there typing everything out, you are going to waste hours. And let me share a little personal information about me. I hate typing. Why type when you can speak? So instead of sitting there typing for hours, I use the voice function. I give it everything it needs. You can even use voice-to-text software like WhisperFlow to make it highly accurate. Doing this interview is one of the greatest investments of time I've ever made. Whenever I have someone on my team on-ramp onto Claude, I make them do this exact same interview process. It builds the relationship between you and the AI. That brings us to tip number 3: understanding the different models. Look, if you have millions of dollars sitting around to just burn on AI tokens, then ignore this. But if you are a smart entrepreneur who doesn't want to waste money, you need to listen up because using AI the wrong way gets incredibly expensive. At my companies, between internal team use and licensing software for our clients, we process a massive amount of AI generation. We have a very deep understanding of what these things cost day to day. Claude has different models you can choose from depending on the task. Haiku, Sonnet, Opus, and Fable. Let me break down these models so you don't waste your money. Starting at the bottom, you have Haiku. Haiku is exactly what you want for that initial interview process I just taught you. It's perfect for loads of back-and-forth chatting that doesn't require deep strategic thinking. Then you step up to Sonnet. Sonnet should be your absolute daily driver. It's a massive step up from Haiku. Then you step up to Opus. Opus is where you truly feel like you have Tony Stark's It has a significantly deeper level of understanding. You only give Opus the big, heavy-lifting stuff— massive data analysis— because if you use Opus for simple tasks, you will hit your usage limit instantly, and there is nothing more annoying than hitting a limit right when you are in the zone. And at the very top, you have Fable. Fable is next level, but access fluctuates. The way I want you to think about these models is like managing a real human team. You are the CEO. You would never take your most senior, expensive executive and make them sit at a desk answering generic customer service emails all day, right? That is a complete waste of their skill set and your money. You give the senior executive the complex problems nobody else can solve, and you give the basic tasks to the intern. A crucial warning for tip 3: Claude has a feature called Research Mode. It's a toggle you can turn on. It goes out, scours the entire web, pulls hundreds of resources, and builds a massive structured report. Is it super useful? Yes. Does it eat through your usage limits faster than literally anything else on the planet? Yes! So if you use research mode, be hyper-specific, give it exact boundaries, or you will burn your entire quota on a task that didn't even need it. Tip number 4: Using skills. A skill is very different from a memory. Memory is Claude learning your soul over time. A skill is a fixed, rigid set of instructions for one specific, repeatable job that you build once, and it runs flawlessly the exact same way every single time. Look, I am all about efficiency. Sitting there doing the exact same admin task every single week isn't generating leads. It isn't building relationships, and it certainly isn't making you a single dollar. No one has ever been promoted for formatting a spreadsheet the exact same way 9 weeks in a row. Anything monotonous must be automated. Full stop. What can you turn into a skill? If you write a weekly report for your manager with the same structure, boom, that's a skill. Once you lock in your process, you just tell Claude to turn it into a skill. And if you are too busy to build them, there is a massive community of givers out there on sites like SkillMP sharing thousands of pre-built skills. Code reviewing, literature reviews, marketing audits— someone has already built it for you. You just download the file, head to your settings, and upload it. When you start stacking these skills for your day-to-day work, that is when you actually step into the Jarvis experience. Now for the final beginner tip. Tip number 5, and this one goes against what all the fake gurus online are telling you: avoid projects. Personally, I absolutely hate them. Over time, the more you use Claude, you build up a serious amount of chats, and And it gets hard to track. When I first started, I thought, great, I'll use projects to organize everything into neat little folders. But here is the massive hidden problem that Claude does not make clear. A project has its own completely separate, siloed memory. Whatever is in that project is cut off from everything else. If you sit down in a general chat and nail down your brand identity, your tone, and your promise, that knowledge touches everything. But the second you open a new project, Claude has total amnesia. It's like it has never met you. Whatever you build in one project does not carry over to another. You end up manually copying and pasting your entire life story every single time. Now, if you strictly want one project for work and one for personal life, fine. But do not overdivide your workflow. If you've already made this mistake, don't stress. You can toggle any chat out of a project and back into your general feed. Now, let's level up. We are moving into the intermediate tips. Tip number 6: Connect your apps to Claude. There are a bunch of integration options, But the 2 you absolutely must do right now are connecting your Gmail and your Google Calendar. You will find this in the connector setup in your settings. Let me explain why this is a massive game changer. I have zero doubt that if you are serious about business, you will eventually hire a human personal assistant. It is the best money you will ever spend. But until you have the $50,000 to $100,000 a year to pay for a great human PA, Claude is your bridge. When you connect your Gmail, Claude can go through your inbox and proactively draft your replies for you. Instead of wasting an hour every morning doing email triage, Claude frontloads the entire process before you even sit down with your coffee. And don't worry, it only pulls from your inbox when you ask it to. It's not secretly spying on you. Best of all, it only drafts the emails. AI is amazing, but you still need to proofread and add your human soul to the message before you hit send. Then, you connect your calendar. Just like a human assistant, Claude needs to know exactly what you are doing and when, otherwise, it can't plan your life. If you only put 3 work meetings on your calendar, it won't work. You have to put your whole life on there. Once it's filled out, Claude can look at your week and tell you exactly where your gaps are. Tell Claude, find me a 45-minute gap for the gym, and it will flawlessly slot it in. It gets you 80% of the way to a high-ticket executive assistant, For a fraction of the cost. Tip number 7 takes us out of the chat window. Use the Chrome extension. Everything we just talked about requires you to go to Claude. But what if Claude could come to you? You go to the Chrome Store, download the extension, and sign in. Now Claude can actually work inside whatever web page you have open. It can read the page, click buttons, fill in forms, and move between tabs. Think of this like bringing on an eager new hire. You are the senior executive, You have a list of boring, mundane tasks. You hand the grunt work to the new hire, the extension, and you focus on the high-level strategy. Let's say you are buying software, and there are 4 competitors. You do not want to sit there reading 300 reviews. You deploy the extension, and it reads them all and tells you the best option. Is it fully autonomous? No. Before it clicks a final button or changes a page, it stops and asks for your approval. I love this. I trust AI, but I verify everything because we are moving into the advanced territory. These last 3 tips might make you feel a little uncomfortable, but growth only happens outside your comfort zone. The payoff here is astronomical. Tip number 8: Cowork. Remember that eager new hire from the Chrome extension? Imagine that person has now been working with you for 6 months. They know your style. You trust them. You just tell them what to do. They give you a quick That is Cowork. Unlike the extension, Cowork operates on your entire computer desktop, not just the browser. You tell it which local folders it has permission to access, and it can read files, edit documents, create new files, and organize your life. Let's be authentic here, I guarantee you have a Downloads folder on your computer that is an absolute chaotic mess. Screenshots from 2022, 6 copies of the exact same PDF, Files named final, final_v3, use this one. It's a disaster. You just point Cowork at that folder, tell it to sort it out, and it will give you a plan. You say, boom, sounds good, and it organizes your entire hard drive in minutes. But Cowork also schedules your tasks. Remember skill stacking? Now we are stacking Claude's skills. I start my day with 3 things: a summary of yesterday, a categorized breakdown of my inbox, and a list of my upcoming tasks. By the time I sit down, Cowork has already compiled all of this for me. Jarvis wasn't waiting around for Tony Stark to wake up to start running the house. Jarvis was proactively managing things. Cowork also has a feature called Dispatch. I am out of the house networking all the time. With Dispatch, you pair your phone to your computer via a QR code. If I am halfway to a CEO dinner in Manhattan and I remember I forgot to format a spreadsheet, I can literally dispatch the task from my phone to my computer sitting at home, and Cowork gets it done. Incredible! Tip number 9: Claude Code. Now, I know the word code instantly terrifies non-technical people. You hear it and think you need to be a developer. Stop! You do not. With Claude Code, you literally just describe what you want built in plain English. And Claude writes the software, tests it, and even fixes the bugs when it breaks. Let me give you a real-world example. Our Chief Product Officer is a massive marathon runner. Instead of downloading a generic running app that he hated, he used Claude Code to build his very own custom app. It tracks his specific mileage, knows his training goals, and generates dynamic workout plans. He built exactly what he needed, and he did not write a single line of code. Givers and Action Takers use this to build internal tools and calculators. If you told me 5 years ago that a non-developer could build a functioning app in 24 hours, I would have thought you were crazy. But today, whether it's a side hustle, a hobby tracker, or replacing a terrible spreadsheet you've used for years, you can just build it yourself. Finally, tip number 10: Claude Design. We just replaced the developer, now we are replacing the graphic designer. When I say design, I am talking about landing pages, website mockups, and structural UI layouts. Claude is honestly terrible at making pictures. Go use Midjourney or ChatGPT for that. But for web design, it is phenomenal. When you ask Claude Design to build a landing page, it doesn't just give you a static picture of a website. It generates a fully functional, actual website with clickable buttons, working navigation, and real code. Back in the day, my agency team would take weeks to code a landing page. Today, Claude Design does it in 3 3 minutes. Alright, there you have it, all 10 tips, fully detailed, ready to be implemented. If you take action and apply even half of these strategies today, you will be light-years ahead of your competitors who are still sitting there manually typing generic questions into a chat box. Now, you have your own Jarvis. What are you going to do with all that freed-up time? Maybe you spend it with your family, maybe you start that side hustle, maybe you finally dedicate time to building authentic, soul-level relationships on LinkedIn with your ideal clients. The choice is yours, but you have to take action. Hope is not a strategy. Stop lurking, start executing, and let's take your life and your business to a whole new level. Boom!
