In this YouTube video, real‑estate veteran Joe Homs explains why new and seasoned investors should work with a mentor. He outlines three core benefits: (1) Experience – leveraging his 40+ years in the industry to avoid costly mistakes; (2) Accountability – regular check‑ins and structured guidance that keep investors on track with goals such as wholesaling; and (3) Networking – access to established circles, events, and contacts that a mentor already participates in. Throughout, Joe encourages viewers to like, subscribe, and reach out for one‑on‑one mentorship, positioning the mentor relationship as a fast‑track to real‑estate success.

Today, we're going to talk about the importance of having a real estate mentor. If you're a new real estate investor looking to grow your business, then this video is for you. I'm going to share with you 3 reasons why you should have a mentor to help you achieve success.
Welcome back to the channel. I made this channel for the new and experienced investor. Those of you who want to live the life you've always wanted through real estate, make sure that you like and subscribe and share this video with your friends.
Number 1, Experience. Experience counts. I've been doing this for over 40 years. If you want to deal with somebody that just got their license yesterday, that's up to you. It's your money. It's probably your brother-in-law or other family friend, but please don't discount the experience that someone may have.
Number 2, Accountability.
So if you're working with a mentor, he's hopefully going to keep you accountable to what it is that you're looking to do. So for example, you want to start wholesaling. Come into the office, let's sit down, let's talk about wholesaling. This is what wholesaling is about. These are the items that you need to get in place to begin wholesaling. Now that I've given you all that information, Go and start. Check in with me once or twice a week, especially if you're having issues. I'll answer them right away. But if not, at least check in with me weekly to make sure that you're progressing forward. Do you like these type of videos? Do me a favor and hit that like button. Number 3, networking. Networking is invaluable, an invaluable tool. I was just at a networking event last night. Top real estate agents in Orange County. We're literally networking on properties that we have, that we have coming up, and just literally bouncing ideas back and forth through that networking session. And it was done through a title company rep that I know, and I appreciated him inviting me and the others that were there. And hopefully we're going to do this on a weekly basis. But networking is an invaluable tool. Please, when you network, take business cards with you. If you're high-tech, take your phone. Make sure that people can get your contact information easily and let them know what you're doing real estate related. Having a mentor can open you up to better networking circles, and the reason that is, is because the mentor already has these networking events that they go to, and if you're invited to go with them then those are great opportunities. I answer a lot of questions on BiggerPockets, you know, like, where's the next networking session? Do you have any networking sessions in Orange County? Those are the type of things if you're working with a good mentor, he already knows where everything's at and is inviting you to go to these networking sessions with him. Remember, finding the right mentor can help you accelerate your success in real estate investing.
