Homeguard Inspections

Okay, good morning everybody. We have a guest speaker this morning. His name is Curtis Cheely and he is the account manager for HomeGuard. HomeGuard is a big company, but he's down here promoting inspections. I personally did not know that HomeGuard did inspections. I've ordered their home warranty before, but anyways, I did not know that they did inspections as well. So without further ado, let me put him on, and then you have a presentation that I'm going to help you with, correct?

All right, hi everybody. As Joe said, my name is Curtis Cheely. I'm with Home Guard Incorporated. I'm on the inspection side. We have termite, roof, home, sewer lateral, and pool inspections. So as far as the Home Guard experience, um, what makes us different? Joe, do you want to go ahead and bump up the next frame?

Um, yeah, in fact, if you could take an image of at least the contact information, not the picture so much. And I'll tell you why in a moment.

So if you could take an image of my email and my phone number. Okay, so we have over a million inspections to date in the 30-plus years we've been in business. We had 60,000 just last year, so, uh, we know what we're doing. Um, we started about 30 years ago, as I said, uh, 2 of our principals, uh, one had a successful termite inspection company and the other one was a successful real estate broker. They merged together, they talked about what was needed in this field, and they came up with HomeGuard. So go ahead, Joe.

The next frame. Time matters. So let's say that you place an order at 8:30 or 10:30 inspection that morning, you'll get that report back that same day. Now, if the inspection is actually in the afternoon, then you'll get it within 24 hours. Go ahead, Joe. We can skip that. I just pretty much told you about that. So all of our reports come with a hyperlink with the images, so you can actually click on a rafter. It'll give you exactly what is wrong with it and give you the image, and it'll actually give you the cost as well. Go ahead, Joe. For ease of ordering, you can actually call me. A quick question on here on the order online. Is there like an area that is for agents only to be ordering these reports?

Yes, in fact, let's do this, Joe, if I may be bold here. Let's hold the questions, jot them down, and at the end I'll go ahead and answer everything. But okay, you— but yes, the answer is yes, we have an app. You can see that on the screen. What's really nice about the app is after you start doing business with this, you can actually go back and look at a report. You can look at the termite, sewer lateral report, whatever the case may be. You can take a look at that. Go ahead, Joe. Savings. So the more you order from us, the more that you'll be saving. So today what I would like to do with all that is, that are on this Zoom call is give you a complimentary home roof, well, home termite, and then you can pick a roof, sewer lateral, or pool inspection on top of that. You can build escrow as the screen says, which is kind of convenient. Let's say that you want to go ahead and pay at the time of inspection, you can get a discount at that time as well. Go ahead, Joe. Yeah, we're open 6 days, Monday through Saturday, which is unusual, but we are open Monday through Saturday. Now, if the inspection is a Afternoon inspection on Saturday, you'll get it by Monday morning at the very latest. Go ahead, Joe. iPad summary. So at the end of the inspection, the inspector will bring out his iPad and go over everything with you using the iPad and tell you exactly what it's— what's— if there's any, anything that needs to be addressed, he'll Go ahead and show you, he or she for that matter. Go ahead. Okay, we can pass this one up. So something that makes us really different in our field is the fact that you can have— let's say that you need inspection, a home roof, termite, sewer lateral— I can have all the inspectors there at the same time. So this will actually help you. You only have to go up to the property one time, especially if the place is occupied, so you're not bothering the tenant. So go ahead. If you need— if you have a lot of new agents on board, Joe, I can come in and give you a Zoom training or agent-to-agent training, whatever you need. need for is reading an inspection report, roof inspection report, whatever you need, I can— I'm there to help. We have $10 million error and omission insurance, so we're covered. You can rest assured that you're fine doing business with us. So all of our inspectors not only have their drone license through— they're certified through FAA to be drone pilots. They also are ASHI certified as well as CAR certified, which I kind of jumped the gun, but go ahead, Joe. As it states, we're actually certified. You probably already know that in the state of California you don't need an inspection license. You can just go out, print some business cards and you can say that you're a home inspector. We don't roll that way. We haven't. We've been ASHI certified for 28 years, I believe, now. So rest assured that we're— you're in good hands. ASHI and CAR certified, as you'll see in the next frame. Go ahead. And we're CAR certified, as I mentioned. Go ahead. Repairs concierge. So as I stated, in the reports you'll see if there's anything that needs to be repaired. You can go ahead and have us do it or go to your go-to person, but there is an 800 number which is the repair concierge team, and they'll be able to help you out. We have DocuSign, so we try to make it easy on everybody. So if you need this particular app, you can go ahead and have that as well. It'll help you save some time. Sewer laterals. So something we've been doing now is sewer laterals. Now, this is going to go from the home to the street. Sewer laterals. So we'll actually get a camera view of the sewer, tell you if there's anything wrong with the inspection. Now keep in mind that this report for the sewer laterals may take up to 72 hours to receive. This is the only thing that may take 72 hours. Okay. If we need to remove the toilet or clean out the closeout, there is a fee for that. It's $350 for that.

Go ahead. And that's me again. Just take an image of, if you would, as I stated earlier, of the cell phone number and the email address, folks. So that's, that's pretty much it. The question I originally asked was, do you— does your site have an agent, basically an agent site that if I needed to sign up for something, I just go to the agent site?

No, you would actually just contact that 800 number, let them know that you're working with an account manager, and then they'll patch you through the customer service that pretty much funnels all the information for the account managers.

Okay, so there's no, no place I can go onto your website and order a report?

Uh, well, when you say order— oh yeah, inspection, you can Uh, talk to anyone in customer service, but if you tell them you're working with, say, Curtis Cheely, that they'll, uh, address— they'll patch you through the appropriate person.

Okay, so it's, it's, it's a matter of calling and not, uh, doing like something that I can do on my own, self-service?

Well, you can. You can do— you get that app, Joe, that, that, uh, that we showed earlier, and you can go ahead and schedule that. It'll tell you the available times on the schedule for that report. And as I mentioned to you, you'll get that report the same day if it's an AM appointment. Okay, got it. Any other questions?

What is your basic charge for an inspection?

Well, as I said, I'd like to give you that VIP, which is complimentary, but it really goes by the square footage. So if you have something, a home inspection for 2,000 square feet, you're probably looking around $435. If you pay at that time, you're looking at $395. If it's 2,000 to 3,000 square feet, you're looking at $485.

Okay, thank you. And then is that— what inspection is that? That's just the basic inspection, or is that included?

That's the home inspection, Mark. And Mark, what I'll do is I'll send you some information on our home inspection, the cost for that, pool inspection, sewer laterals, Termite, roof, and natural hazard as well. So you'll have that.
