John Assaraf breaks goal-setting into four steps: define what you want, visualize the outcome, split it into monthly targets, then pick three concrete actions per goal. He uses weight loss as an example, showing how to break a 10-pound goal into 3-pound monthly chunks with specific weekly actions for exercise, diet, sleep, and stress.

I urge you, set goals and then set three action steps for achieving each goal. If you wanted to release weight, you know, let's say 10 pounds, you know, or 10 kilos, and you create a vision for how you're going to feel and how you're going to look, and you created some goals that you're going to release £3 this month and £3 next month and £3 the month after that. Then the next layer of, of that that I'm talking about when we're setting goals is how specifically are you going to release £3 this week? Well, you can exercise. Great. What kind of exercise? How long are you going to do it for? What about diet? What about sleep? What about reduction of stress? Those are all things that will affect your ability to release weight and keep it off, right? So when you're setting your business goals, set the goal, but then come up with three things that you can do to achieve that goal.
