Achieve Even More Show : The STTTR Method - John Assaraf

John Assaraf (host) presents a neuroscience-informed goal-achievement method called STTTR. He explains why a precise vision and emotional reasons engage brain circuits (left prefrontal cortex and limbic system), then walks through STTTR: Strategies, Tactics, Timelines, Tools, and Resources, showing how combining vision, micro-goals and action planning recruits motivational and motor circuits while reducing fear/stress—making goal achievement more likely. The video closes with a CTA offering help to rewire money beliefs to double/triple income within 12 months.

Hey, this is John Ashraf, New York Times best selling author of Having it all the Answer and inner size of the new signs to unlock your brain's hidden power. On My Achieve Even More show, you'll discover the most powerful, proven neuroscience based methods, tools and techniques to help you achieve your life's goals and dreams faster and easier than ever before. Have you ever wondered why it's so, so easy to set your goals, yet in reality it's so much harder to achieve goals? Right. Today I'm going to share with you the brain based method called STTTR that will guarantee you become a massive goal achiever and rise to your fullest potential. So you achieve the lifestyle of your dreams and stay to the end of this video where I'm going to share with you exactly how to rewire your hidden money story so you retrain your brain into helping you double or triple your income in the next 12 months. Let's get started. Alright, so you want to achieve your goals and dreams faster and easier than ever before, right? Well, what I'm going to be sharing with you is some of the latest neuroscience and neuropsychology research to get you to use your whole brain to help you achieve your goals instead of just one or two parts of your brain that are required in order to set your goals. Before we get into the STTTR process, I want to share something with you that changed my life that I know can change yours. Many years ago, when I was just learning how to set goals and achieve goals, my first mentor shared with me that I had to create a vision first for what I wanted my life to be like. And he told me that when you set a vision, a clear, precise vision of what your life will be like for health, wealth, relationships, career, business, the fun and experiences you want to have, the charitable contributions that you want to make, he said that was the first part to get your brain working for you. And what I've discovered over the last 10 years is that there's a part of our brain called the left prefrontal cortex. I like to call it the Einstein part of the brain. It's the part of your brain that uses deductive reasoning or choice and imagination to imagine the future state that you would love to have in your life. Whether you have a career or a business, it doesn't matter. So before we even get into the STTTR method, the first part of getting your brain to work for you is to give it the clear, precise instructions, directions and a vision of what you want your life to look like when it's really working to your advantage, working properly. So the first part of all of this is give your brain the vision. Take a few minutes, probably 30, in order to write out the vision for your life. And I love to start creating all of my vision documents with this sentence. I am so happy and grateful for the fact that. And then I complete that for the fact that my income is X. I'm traveling to these places, my family and I are. And I fill in the blanks. My weight is blank. And my weight, my fact percentage is why I get as precise as humanly possible on my spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical health. I get precise on the amount of income I want to earn in my company and personally, my net worth, my charitable contributions, what I want, my relationships with my wife, my children, my employees, my brother and sister, my mother and father. My. The more precise you are, the more you give your brain the instruction of exactly what you want it to focus on. Now, why is this critical? Well, it's critical because you and I are having 30, 40, 50,000 random thoughts a day. Not only that, but we're being distracted every second of every day on Facebook, on YouTube, on Instagram, through text messaging, through emails, and we are being distracted. So what happens is our brain gets pulled in a lot of different directions, not only from internal thoughts, but from external things that are trying to get us to focus on those things. And so the clearer you can be on the vision, that's the first part of engaging that left prefrontal cortex of your brain. And then another little tidbit is if you take a few moments to write out, why must you achieve that vision? If you don't have an emotional reason why you must achieve the vision for your whole life, then you're going to get distracted. You're going to allow all the things that are wasting your time in life to rule your life. And guess what you want to do. You want to be deliberate. You want to be consciously choosing what you focus on, and you want to have the emotional reasons why. So when you have your vision that is allocating the brain power from your left prefrontal cortex. When you add the emotional reasons why you must achieve your goals, now you're activating another part of your brain, the middle part of your brain called the limbic system. And now you've engaged two members of your brain orchestra, as I like to call it. So now you've got a couple of people working for you within your own brain. Vision and why is important. Then. If we say that the vision that you want to achieve is whether it's a year or three or five out, that becomes the stretch vision, the out there vision that you may or may not yet know how to achieve. But I'll show you how to get through that in just a moment. So then I want you to ask yourself, what are a few goals in 30 days, 90 days, 180 days and a year that move you towards that vision? Now if you and I were to get into a car and the lights, you know, it was dark outside and we wanted to go across the country and let's say it was pitch black from here to wherever across the country is for you. You don't have to see every road and every turn. All you need to do is get in the car, put on your headlights and you can see 100ft or 200ft or 300ft ahead of you, right? The same happens when you are moving towards, moving towards your vision. You don't have to see the whole path there, but you want to have some goals. Get to the end of the street, turn right, get to the end of the block, get to the highway. When you give your brain some micro goals now you reduce the stress and the anxiety that's caused when we set big goals that we either don't have the tools or the resources or the knowledge or skills to achieve. So when you set the vision and you set it aside for the time being, but you say, okay, in 30 days I could achieve this, in 90 days I can achieve that. In 180 days I can achieve that. Now you're reducing the stress load, the self doubt load, the anxiety load in the brain and even the fear, fear that may be activated when you don't know exactly how to achieve your goals. Now that's the part of your brain that kicks in when you don't have either the knowledge, the skills or what I'm about to talk about in just a moment, that's what causes the fear center or what I call is the Frankenstein part of your brain, that right prefrontal cortex to activate and cause you to not take inspired action. So, vision first, some micro goals second. Now let's say you have a goal to make an extra $1000 a month. It doesn't matter if the goal is $1000 or $5000 or 10,000 or a million dollars a month. The amount doesn't matter for every goal. If you apply the STTTR method next, I guarantee you you will increase your chances of achieving that goal by at least 100 to 500% I know this to be true because I've taught this to hundreds of thousands of my students. So for every goal, let's say it's $1,000 extra a month in income, I want you to come up with strategies for how you can achieve that goal. So whether you have a business or you have a job, it doesn't matter. Or whether you're unemployed or retired, it really doesn't matter. When you ask yourself this question, how can I achieve that goal? You might come up with an idea like, well, maybe I can sell some of the furniture that I don't use in my house, or art or jewelry, maybe I can work part time for somebody who needs my knowledge or skills, etc. When you come up with a strategy or two or three of how you can, you now start to percolate the ideas in your brain. What a lot of people get stuck with is they don't know how to and they allow the lack of knowing how to to get in their way. What about googling, how can I achieve making $1,000 or $5,000 more? Here's what I guarantee you. When you open up your neural pathways to to how you can achieve it, strategies are the what you can do. And so you can get a part time job, you can learn how to invest, you can start a business, you can write a blog and sell other people's programs, products or services. There are literally hundreds of how to strategies to achieve any goal. Whether that goal is to make more money, whether that goal is to release weight and keep it off, whether that goal is to have a better relationship or to be more spiritually connected, it makes no difference. The goal is the outcome that you want. The strategy is the what you can do. Now, why is this important? It's important because when you combine your strategies, what you can do with tactics, the specifics of what you're going to do, you're engaging several different parts of your brain that are connected to the motor cortex of your brain, the part of your brain that actually gets you to get up and do what you need to do. When you give your brain the vision, the goals and some strategies, and that is key, some strategies, you are now reducing the stress or anxiety center as your brain has been trying to figure out how are you going to achieve it. So the more organized you are, the more disciplined you are in using the different parts of your brain, the more it's going to activate the motivational circuit in your brain called the nucleus accumbens and the insula. And so when you have the vision, the goals and the strategies. And you come up with two or three tactics of how you're going to do it. That gives your brain the calmness that it needs instead of the reactiveness, the calmness that it needs in order for you to activate the motor cortex of your brain so that you take action. So so far we've got vision goals. Then the first S is for strategies, the second or the T is for tactics. Now the third or the second T is for timelines. When you tell your brain, okay, on Monday, I'm going to do X and you put it into your calendar, your brain now sees a time bound organization. And when your brain sees the strategies, tactics and the timelines, now you're activating again that left prefrontal cortex, which goes to figure out how to get it done. So when most people set goals, they usually just have the goal, but because they don't take the time to develop one or two strategies, one or two tactics, and they don't take the time to actually put it into their calendar of here's what I'm going to do. And when they're deactivating by default a different part of their brain that they need in order to achieve their goals. What you want to be doing is getting your whole brain working together. The left prefrontal cortex, the motor cortex, the motivational circuits. You want to decrease the stress or fear circuits. And when you do this, that is the way to get your whole brain working together. And as you take more inspired action every single day, a little bit at a time, guess what happens? You build more confidence, you build more certainty, but more importantly, you build the identity of not being just a goal setting setter, but a goal achiever. Does that make sense? Okay, couple more things. Tools. There are lots of tools. That's the other T is tools. What tools can you use? What calendaring tool can you use? What leveraging tool? Okay, can you use to help you achieve your goals faster and easier than ever before? We live in a world of apps, we live in a world of collaboration. We live in a world where there's so many tools to make what it is that we want to achieve easier. And so I'm all about finding the tools to help you achieve your goals and dreams faster than easier than ever before. And that brings me to the R. All right, so the R is resources. And that coincides directly with tools. What resources can you come up with in order to help you achieve your goals and dreams more? You can use tools, people as resource. So a lot of times When I'm setting big goals that I don't yet know how to achieve, I join a mastermind group. I get an accountability partner, I hire a consultant or a coach. And so when you put this all together, I have a vision. I set some goals, I develop some strategies and tactics together. I create timelines so I know what I'm doing on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. I look for the best tools and resources in order to be able to give me leverage and support. And that is what our brain needs. That's what your brain needs if you really want to achieve goals faster and easier than ever before. I'm going to leave you with this thought right now. If you are committed to achieving any one of your goals, would you agree with me that you can find all of the how to achieve blank whether it's in my books, my programs, other people's books, programs, a coach you can hire, a consultant you can hire, go to Google, go to YouTube, go online to find all the how to. Of course you can. So we live in an era where all the how to is readily available for you and me to help us achieve our goals faster and easier than ever before. So what you got to do is get your brain to work for you by giving yourself all of the tools and resources necessary to make achieving your goals inevitable instead of hoping and praying that it becomes a reality. All right, there's our session for today. I hope you enjoyed this.
