Hey friends, this is John Assaraf. And as you can see behind me are the beautiful San Juan Mountain range here in Telluride, Colorado, where I have a home. And I just had this wonderful thought up on the gondola to do a video blog here to help you with achieving your life's goals and dreams. Now, most people take a look at the amount of money they have, they take a look at their jobs, they take a look at their businesses, and they say, great, this amount of money or this job or this business is going to afford me a certain lifestyle. And I've got to share something with you. And that is this. That is the worst, absolute worst way to determine what your lifestyle should be. And here's why I say that when you take a look at your current circumstances and you allow those to control your thinking, then you're a victim of circumstance. What I want you to do starting today is I want you to invest about 20, 30 minutes to take some time and think about what's the lifestyle you really, really want to have. How much money do you want to make, how many vacations do you want to go on, what kind of home do you want to live in, what kind of car do you want to drive, how much money do you want to give to charities, how much money do you want to put away for your children or any cause that touches your heart and your soul, makes your life worth living. And I say that because once you write down what you want your lifestyle to be, and then you use this beautiful, incredible brain that God gave you and all the people and resources around you to figure out how you can have that, you start to elevate your thinking, you start to elevate how you feel, and then you start to elevate what you do many, many years ago in 1980, it's March 22, 2010 right now, in May of 1980, I started to write my goals, my dreams, my vision on a piece of paper. And I had no idea how to achieve it. No idea. I didn't have the education, I didn't have the self esteem, the belief, I didn't have the confidence. And I certainly did not have the certainty. But guess what? Once I wrote the goals down, I said, this is what I want, this is what I want. Trade my life for this is who I want to become so that I can have that lifestyle. And I was prepared to do the work necessary to get there. And my life started to change a little bit at a time, then a little bit more and a little bit more than that. And over the years, 30 years now, I've been able to create a pretty nice lifestyle where this is my, I think, sixth or seventh vacation in the first three months of this year. Now, I share that with you not to impress you, but I'm no different than you are. But I might be thinking a little bit differently. What I want to give you is the gift of using that beautiful genius brain of yours to think at a higher level, to feel more than you're feeling right now at the level of what you want to achieve. And then I want you to learn how to plan for your success. There's an old saying that says piss poor planning leads to poor performance. And so I want you to plan a little bit better, and I want you to have it all in your life. I hope you enjoyed this and create an amazing day, and more importantly, create an amazing life.
