Hey, friends. This is John Ashraf, New York Times best selling author of Having it all and the Answer and you may remember me from the hit movie the Secret or Quest for Success with the Dalai Lama and Richard Branson. Now here's a question for you. Have you ever wondered why it seems so easy for some people to achieve their goals and dreams while other people struggle endlessly? Well, what I have found is that people who achieve their goals are not any smarter than the people who don't achieve their goals. However, the people who achieve their goals have two common success traits. In this video, I'm going to share with you those two success traits so you can leapfrog your way and achieve your goals faster and easier than ever before. Now, many years ago, when I was about 26 years old, I had bought the franchising rights for ReMax for the state of Indiana. And what I did then was I found a few mentors who had already built highly successful REMAX regions all over the United States and around the world. And what they helped me do was, number one, create a huge vision for what I wanted to achieve in Indiana. And I ended up setting a goal for developing and building a billion dollar real estate company. Now, back then, which was 1987, there wasn't a company in Indiana that had ever achieved a billion dollars in sales. However, because of what I'd learned about setting goals and creating a real clear vision in my mind, as well as writing it down specifically on a piece of paper and looking at it every single day, I was able to get my brain to focus on how I could achieve that goal. And as a result of having a clear vision and having an absolutely clear focus on what I wanted to achieve every single day, I was priming my brain, which now scientists have really found out makes a huge difference in our perceptions, our behaviors, and more importantly, in the consistency of how much action we take. And so one of the things that I want you to do starting right now is start by having an absolute clear vision for what it is that you want to achieve in the next year. Three years, five years, 10 years, if you can go out that far. And then I want you to get absolute clarity on exactly what are the steps that you need to take in order to achieve that goal. Once you have the vision and the clarity synced up and you make a decision and a commitment to take action every day, what you're going to find is not only will you get the inspiration and the motivation to continue along the path, you will start meeting people that you never would have met before. You'll start seeing things that you never would have seen before. Because one of the key and critical elements of goal achievement is getting your brain to figure out how you can achieve something that you've never achieved before. And the bigger your vision is, the more you're going to get your brain to work for you. The more clear your vision is, the easier it's going to be to block out all the things that you don't need and now create all the things and find all the things that you do need in order to achieve those goals. Every goal that you have starts off with your vision, the clarity of that vision, and then the relentless focus every day towards achieving that goal. And what you'll find is that you will start to become a goal achiever instead of just a goal setter. You will not be somebody who just starts and stops projects and and goals. You will be somebody who finishes his or her goals. The number one success trait of highly successful people is not that they start a lot of things, it's that they finish the things they start.
