Short video by John Assaraf promoting writing down goals and using a support team. Citing a Dominican University study, Assaraf states that people who write their goals down achieve them about 50% faster/better, and those who share goals with a supportive accountability group have an almost 100% greater chance (described as nearly a 100% increase) of achieving them. He advises writing specific goals, deadlines, and emotional reasons (a strong “why”) and invites viewers to a webinar on mastering mindset.

Hey friends, it's Jon Asser with another tidbit for you on mastering your mindset. Now, in a recent study at the Dominican University, what the researchers found out is absolutely phenomenal. Now, up until this time, people really haven't known the power of writing goals down, specifically writing them down. And they really haven't known the power of how it affects you. When you have a group of people that also know what your goals are, that you are working with them to achieve your goals. In the study, the people who wrote their goals down versus the people that didn't achieved those goals that they had 50% faster and better. Here's another amazing statistic. The ones who had a support team to really help them not just solidify and clarify their goals, but to help keep them accountable week in, week out, had an almost 100% better chance of achieving their goals. And not only was it a better chance, it was almost 100% increase in them achieving their goals. So what's the lesson for you? The lesson for you is get your goals out of your head. Get them onto a piece of paper. Write down what goal you want to achieve, specifically when you're going to achieve it by write down why it's important for you to achieve it. And then one of the most important parts that most people feel or leave out, they don't write why it's so important for you to achieve that goal. So come up with the emotional reasons why it's important. Is it because you want your children to have a better education? You want to devote your time to doing more charitable work? You want to travel the world? You want a nicer car? You want to give more money to charity? When you have a big enough why, you'll be more apt to doing what needs to be done.
