Power UP Your Brain

John Assaraf explains how to rewire your brain by building new neural patterns through daily practice. It takes 66 to 365 days to form a new groove, and the A-I-A method (Awareness, Intention, Action) helps remove resistance. Breathing exercises and treating yourself like an athlete in training are key.

But creating a new pattern that reinforces itself long enough to be the dominant pattern. According to the latest research, University of London is 66 days to 365 days. So you have a brain, but you are not your brain. You have thoughts, but you're not your thoughts. You have emotions, but you're not your emotions. Does anybody know how long it takes to change a habitual pattern? Does anybody, can anybody tell how long does it take to change a neural pattern that you've had for 20, 30, 40, 50 years? Think of it this way. If you wanted to create a new highway system with roads and cul de sacs, it would take you a little bit of time, right? But it takes between 66 days and 365 days. So remember, you have patterns in your brain that have been reinforced for 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 years. And so those patterns are like grooves, right? And those grooves that get reinforced become easier to travel down. The electrical signal, the chemical signal becomes easier to travel down. And just because you have a new thought, a new belief, a new self image, a new technique, doesn't mean that the old grooves are going to just go away. That's the path of least resistance for the electrical activity and the chemical activity to travel through. And so it takes about 66 days to 365 days to create a new groove, a new road. Think of new road out there in the streets. But think of neur road in your brain. A neur road system takes a little bit time to create and reinforce. So it overrides the old system. Does that make sense? You know, there's a difference between taking a, an old pattern and you know, learning how to deactivate it, but creating a new pattern that reinforces itself long enough to be the dominant pattern. According to latest research, University of London is 66 days to 365 days. Right. Faye says how do you learn to follow through with what you know works? You set up small, tiny habits and an environment that makes it easier to follow through. When you are looking to follow through, the question you should be asking yourself is why do I not follow through? Why do I procrastinate? Why do I self sabotage? And that's because your habits drive your behavior more than your desires, hopes, wishes or dreams. And so you need to develop habits that then develop you faith. So how do you remove the resistance to positive change and new patterns? Lara first and foremost you do inner size number one, which is breathing, inner sizes two to deactivate the sympathetic nervous system and activate the parasympathetic. Sympathetic nervous system. Then you do inner, that's called take six, calm the circuits. Inner size number two is called aya a I a which is awareness, intention, action. And so you become aware of the thoughts, the emotions, the feelings, sensations or behaviors that are causing the resistance. Then you set a new intention. Then you take one action step towards that. That's how you do it, Larry. You retrain your brain, but you are not your brain. You have thoughts, but you're not your thoughts. You have emotions, but you're not your emotions. You have feelings, but you're not feelings. You have sensations, but you're not your sensations. So that means that there is a thinker that can learn how to use her brain or his brain better with a little bit of practice. You exercise to strengthen your muscles and internal organs, you, inner size to strengthen your core neuro, muscles of awareness, of beliefs, of self image, self esteem, confidence, certainty, etc. So that's how you do it. Can't post comments somewhere else. Okay, so let's have a little bit of fun. What do athletes do every day before they play a game? What do athletes do every day before they play a game? What do they do? They practice. They practice. What does every musician do before he or she plays a concert or in the band? They practice. What does every chess player do before they're playing a tournament? They practice. What does every Rubik's cube player do before they enter a competition? What does every kid or adult do before they do a knitting competition? They practice. So here's my question that I want to ask you. How much practice practice are you doing to win your inner game? How much practice are you doing to see yourself succeeding? How much practice are you doing to create the beliefs that you need? How much practice are you doing to develop the habits you want? How much practice are you doing every single day to see the success that you want? How much practice are you doing every day to upgrade your knowledge and skills so you get better and better and better? And the answer that most people tell me is not much. So your external world of results is going to match 100%, your internal map of reality. And your internal map of reality is created by your beliefs, your perspectives, your paradigms, and your habits and values. All right, so anyway, I want to try out this new technology and hopefully you got a few ideas to power up your brain. There's nothing, I should say nothing, but one of the best things that you can do is sit quietly, breathe, and just pay attention to your breath and pay attention to your thoughts. And don't judge yourself. One of the things I love to teach all of my students is no blame, no shame, no guilt, no justification, just pure awareness. So when you're doing any work on yourself and you're really, you know, looking to become more so you can have more, so you can give more, you know, be kind and gentle to yourself. Stop all the self deprecating self talk, you know, that, you know, I'm having bad thoughts or I don't feel like, you know, you know, motivated. Just be aware. Awareness is what gives you choice and choice is what gives you freedom. And it's in your awareness that you can make the shifts. So whenever you're into personal development, you know, as you're developing, I want you to remember you have a multi billion dollar brain. You've been evolving for 5 million years, maybe longer. You know, human kind has been, you know, evolving for, for billions of years. And, and so you're, you're a genius. You may not activate all the parts of your genius yet, you may not have learned how to master your mindset and emotions yet, you may not have upgraded your, you know, your knowledge and skills yet, but you can. Hey this John. And if you like that video, watch the next video because it is packed with things that you can do right now to achieve success way faster than ever before.
