Human eyes see about 50 shades of gray, but CT scans create images with millions of voxels, each holding over 2,000 shades. AI tools can analyze this hidden detail to reveal arterial structures the eye can't perceive.

When you look at this, we call this grayscale, whether it's a CAT scan, an MRI, our eyes can see or delineate about 50 shades of gray. About 4 years ago, we developed all these cool AI tools, and what the AI does is all of those millions of pixels coming up out of the machine that make up this 3-dimensional high-resolution image, as it turns out, all of those millions of pixels encoded, are encoded electronically with over 2,000 shades of gray. Wow. When we look at this, we call this grayscale, whether it's a CAT scan, MRI, X-ray, or whatever. Our eyes can see or delineate about 50 shades of gray. However, every pixel, technically voxel, because they're little boxes, is encoded with over 2,000 shades of gray.
