John Wetmore explains a time-accounting method for sales: give yourself one minute of credit per dial and one hour per scheduled appointment. The system quantifies your work, tightens pacing between calls, and cuts downtime.

So I started giving myself credit for 1 minute per dial, as if I were timed at the job. Instead of going, I dialed 12 hours, but maybe only did like 82 dials. And at the beginning I convinced myself I had a long day of dialing. And after a minute I realized I really only dialed for 82 minutes, which is a crack over an hour. And I started giving myself credit for only a minute per dial, and that made me more efficient. It made me like, not have gaps between my dials, not take downtime, not, and I was trying to have a pace, 60 plus an hour. And then on the running side, I gave myself credit for an hour per sat appointment. Right, so if I book 30 and I sit 20, that's 20 hours in the house, and they may not have all been an hour, but I averaged it. Give myself 20 hours for sitting 20 clients, and give myself, again, a minute a dial, maybe I do 200, 300, 400, whatever the number is. That's another, I don't know, 5-10 hours dialing, physically dialing, not sitting there like holding it.
