A sales leader skips hiring recruiters by interviewing every prospect and asking if they want to sell forever or build an agency. He trains aspiring builders alongside current agents, gives them credit for introductions, and partners with someone named John to generate income while scaling without discussing pay structures upfront.

I never had a paid recruiter. A lot of people want to build and they want to hire a recruiter to recruit for them. I was the recruiter. I attracted people. And then anytime I— from the interview of an agent, mentally that person was now a recruiter free to me because they— I have access to a network I didn't previously have. And so I knew that person. So even on the interview, when I'm talking about bringing people on, one of the things I talk about is like, do you want to sell insurance for the rest of your life, or you one day want to build an agency? So I ask it to everybody. I don't get into much more than that. And the way I word it, 99% of people go, yeah, one day I want to do it. And I'm like, cool. Well, if you have a network of people and you're interested interested in building one day, what I do for my agents is I help them build the agency before they're ready. Because I know you're not ready for it. But if you introduce me to people that are wanting to do more like you, I'll train them while I train you, and you get all the credit for it. And when you're ready to manage it, you can manage the whole thing. I'll teach you how to do it along the way. But at the beginning, no one wants you training anyway. So you actually have an advantage early on letting them know, dude, I don't know what the hell I'm doing. I'm working with this guy, John. He's helping me make X amount of money, and he's wanting to help more people. Are you in? That's the way I teach people how to build at the beginning. I don't get into comps. I don't get into spread. I don't get into levels. I don't, I don't get into None of it. I'm just going to help this dude and his friends and network make a bunch of money. And with time, I get there.
