We demand perfection from others—send back a steak cooked wrong, complain about the wrong drink—but let ourselves off easy. The question: do you hold yourself to that same standard in sales and entrepreneurship, or do you accept your own mistakes too readily?
Chapters
What's your expectations of someone else versus what are the expectations of yourself? You know, my example I always talk about a lot is like, I'm sure we're going to go eat tonight. And if you go somewhere and you order whatever you order, steak done rare, and you get it like medium well, how mad you are at the guy who cooked it. Whatever y'all order, Coke, and you get Pepsi or Sprite, you know what I mean? How mad you are at that person who was supposed to service you and they didn't do it perfect. When you flip it, do you have that same level of expectations of yourselves in your performance in your career? I bet you don't, you know. And I'm not perfect either, but I try to keep things in perspective and go like, man, I really expect a lot out of the people.
