Giannis argues that years without championships aren't failures but steps toward bigger goals. He points to Michael Jordan's six titles across 15 years, with nine years in between, to show that stretches without obvious wins still count as progress.
view this season as a failure?
Oh my God, uh, you asked me the same question last year, Eric, okay? Uh, do you get, do you get a promotion every year on your job? No, right? So every year you work is a failure, yes or no? No. Every, every year you work, you work towards something, towards a goal, right? Which is to get a promotion, be able to, uh, take care of your family, to be able, I don't know, provide the house for them or take care of your parents, work towards that goal. It's not a failure, steps to success. Michael Jordan played 15 years, won 6 championships. The other 9 years was failure? That's what you're telling me?
It's funny, our business is so easy. Other people have already done what you consider risk. So for me, I'm like, is it really a risk when it's proven? And then you have to kind of take into account the risk of not doing stuff, in my opinion, is bigger than the risk of doing things.
