In this brief motivational monologue, the speaker—attributed to Steve Jobs—asserts that everything we call life is a construct created by people no smarter than ourselves, meaning it is not immutable. Recognizing that we can "poke" life and receive a response, we gain the power to change, shape, and build things that benefit others. This realization fundamentally transforms one’s perspective, emphasizing that we have only one life and should therefore pursue what we truly want. The speech blends philosophical insight with a call to action, urging listeners to embrace agency, create, and seize their singular opportunity.

Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it. You can influence it. You can build your own things that other people can use. The minute that you understand that you can poke life and actually something will, you know, if you push in, something will pop out the other side, that you can change it, you can mold it. Once you learn that, you'll never be the same again. You're only here once. You may as well go for what you want.
