2nd House: Money

Hi, I'm Joni Petrie and welcome to my YouTube channel. Today I'd like to continue on with studying the houses of astrology. Today's class will be about the second house. The second house. Everyone wants to know what's in their second house initially. Why? Because it is the house of money. And we all like the freedom that money can give you. And let's talk deeper about with the second house, how that reflects money. Because the second house is also your early childhood. And many times what we learn in early childhood can be a part of what gives us our opportunities to make money.

To have a sense of self worth, which is essentially what can make people productive and be able to make money because they feel a sense of their own self worth. So it's your value, it is your values. The second house is money, your values. But this all stems from conditioning that you may receive in early childhood. People that have first rate malefics, such as Saturn, Mars or Rahu or Ketu in the second house will have a great deal of difficulty in early childhood. This is a given. Okay.

Some other attributes that are relative to the second house is remember when we look at medical astrology, when we start with the head, the first house is the head in which we are born into this world. But the second house deals with the next portion down, deals with the face and deals with our mouth and deals with our eyesight. So. So the second house rules all of these things. Eyesight, our mouth and our neck, which people with a powerful second house.

Can have things going on with their voice. Because the second house deals with the voice, what we say, the power of our voice, or the lack of power in our voice. Because sometimes when people have malefic planets in the second house, such as Saturn, they may feel like their voice is never heard. Why? Because in early childhood they felt like they were never heard. Maybe their parents told them to be quiet.

To be, not to be heard.

That whatever they had to say was not of value. Therefore they took this unconsciously as what I have to say is not of value. So they don't speak or they don't put out the energy.

Of their value, particularly of what they have to say, what they have to feel. Yes, of course it's important. But early on they were made to feel unimportant. This is all relative to early conditioning, early childhood. And this has to do with our sense of self worth, therefore our ability to make money in the world that gives us a sense of security and self worth. That's what the second house Is essentially about. And many times because it does deal with the mouth, it can deal with our teeth. People could have problems with their teeth. Dental work may be necessary when planted are transiting. That means moving through your second house. But we want to go through what it can mean with all the different planets in the second house. And so remember, not only because it is our mouth and it can deal with the thyroid glandular function as well, but it deals with what goes into our mouth. So what comes out of our mouth in terms of our voice and our speech Speech, but also what comes into our mouth as in food and drink. Many people that have malefics in the second house may eat very bad food. They might eat junk food. They might be drinkers, smokers. All of these poisons or toxins that pollute our body that go into the sec that the mouth represented by the second house.

As well as if you eat well, you can have beautiful planets. You're healthy and you choose the right type of foods with benefic planets in your second house. And because it is the voice, it can represent singers, beautiful singers. That beautiful voice when they have benefics. The second house. Beautiful benefics in the second house. So Julie Andrews, one of the most beautiful singers. She was in the Sound of Music. Her voice was magnificent. And she had great benefics in her second house. I know she had Jupiter, Venus and when transiting Saturn went through her second house later in life, she lost her voice.

And some people, you might say because of the way that they're treated in early childhood, they lost their voice, their voice to be heard, their voice to feel important. And everything to do with what goes into the mouth in terms of eating and digestion as well as what comes out of the mouth in terms of our voice.

If you have the sun in the second house, remember the sun burns a hole through things. It's a malefic and it's too powerful. And sometimes when it's in the second house, it burns a hole in your pocketbook. You can't hold on to money with the sun in the second house.

When you have. But many times, you know, people will be able to make money because the sun is all powerful. If you have Mars in the second house, there's problems around early childhood, maybe fighting around the house, parents.

And the way that you spend money fast and furious. You can't hold on to money. Mars is furious. But because it can deal with, especially if it's a good planet for the chart, such as Leo or Cancer ascendant, it can Represent the ability to really gain finances, money, and it can deal with real estate in the second house. Money through real estate. If you have Venus in the second house, you eat well. Beautiful speech, beautiful words come out of your mouth, beautiful voice, you know how to say the right thing at the right time. Very graceful, very charming.

If you have Mercury in the second house, you're a talker. You can't. You know, when you were a child, you were constantly talking and probably your parents laugh to say, oh my God, you were constantly talking and you started speaking very, very early. Saturn in the second house. You feel like what you have to say is blocked and you have to really develop your voice.

But Saturn makes you very focused and disciplined. You're careful about what you say, you're careful about what you eat. You may even have problems with eating sometimes. When I see some first rate malefics. Mars, Rahu or Saturn in the second house, this can represent eating disorders.

If you have Jupiter in the second house, this can represent.

Beautiful, dynamic, optimistic words, a speaker, because Jupiter is the teacher. If you have Rahu in the second house, this can represent.

Maybe addictions, eating addictions or putting poison, drinking, doing drugs. Or it can mean when you have malefics in the second house that you have a foul mouth, you talk bad about people or you cuss a lot. This is quality of the malefics in the second house. And also remember Ketu in the second house. Problems around early childhood development and feeling like an outcast in the family. Because they say the second house can many times be in reference to your home, depending on your family life. Happiness and family life, all of these things are so important to your second house. The outer planets there, Uranus in the second house. There's not consistency with the voice, with the speech, and probably not consistency with how you eat. Mars in the second house. People are always in a hurry when they're eating. They can't sleep down or take the time to really sit down and calmly have a pleasant meal with others. They want to get up and go.

So Neptune in the second, there could be some allergies to foods and things like that. Pluto in the second house can be overeating extremes in some way with voice, what goes into the mouth. But it could bring great wealth. Because remember, the second house is our ability to make money. It is more about from paycheck to paycheck, the money that we bring in that gives us our sense of security. So with that I'd like to close.
