9th House: Spiritual Beliefs

YouTube monologue by Joni Patry explaining the astrological Ninth House (Bhagi Baba) as the house of luck, spiritual beliefs, religion, higher education, long‑distance travel/pilgrimage, law/legal professions, and the relationship with the Father/teachers. The speaker reviews how individual planets placed in the Ninth House (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) influence themes like travel, teaching, spiritual seeking, parental (father) dynamics, and tendencies toward extremity or detachment. The video closes with links to the speaker’s teaching sites (UniversityofVedicAstrology.com, GalacticCenter.org).

Hi, I'm Joni Petrie and welcome to my YouTube channel. Today I want to talk about the Ninth House. This is the house of luck blessings. It's called Bhagi Baba, which actually means luck. So this house is called the house of our spiritual truths, our spiritual beliefs, what we believe in. And it is the house of religion. It's the house of our quest for higher knowledge. It's actually also the house of higher education. So it deals with our ability to educate and learn at the highest level. It is also the house that deals with law.
So essentially it can mean spiritual law, because that's the highest law. But as to man made laws, it deals with the legal profession. And sometimes people with planets here are drawn to this career, but essentially I think they're brought to this career and profession. When planets are here because they want to find justice, they want to find truth, they want to find answers. And that's what the ninth house reveals. The ninth house is also the house that deals with travel, such as long distance travel, travel, journeys overseas. But it's many times referred to the house of spiritual pilgrimages because this is when we go on our search and our journey to find the truth. I find that planets in the ninth house deal with people that speak and want to know the truth.
But many times it can be where people are overboard and too much of a fanatic when it comes to their spiritual beliefs. So sometimes it can be an extreme also, very much depending on the planets that are placed in this particular house.
But it is a very fortunate and lucky house. And those that are able to attend high esteemed colleges and universities will have planets in this house. So it can also deal with teachers. It deals with the guru teachers and of course ultimately the teacher that we have in our life that we most value, which is our Father, Our Father as our teacher. That's what the ninth house is. So the ninth house deals with Father, not the tenth in Vedic astrology. So planets here within the ninth house can be indicative of our Father and sometimes our relationship with our Father. Also the kind of teachers that we attract into our life, whether they're powerful teachers or teachers that are difficult.
And as the third house deals relatively with lower education, this is this higher education in truth, our spirituality, our belief systems. So let's look and see what planets in the ninth house can mean for you. If you have the sun in the ninth house, this is not always good for the Father. It's too much energy and power. Sometimes the Father can be overwhelming, powerful and strong, but a bit too Much remember where the sun is. Can sometimes burn and too much energy. It's too bright.
The moon in the 9th. A very simple, sensitive feeling, father. And sometimes it can go where the mind is. Too much energy, there's too much. Too much sensitivity, too much feeling. But it can mean closeness with the father at times. And the moon in the ninth house can definitely mean someone who travels a lot, who fluctuates and changes and goes many places. But the moon in the 9th can be a fluctuating, changing attitude that the father has. The learning. Higher education. It fluctuates, it changes the interest.
Mercury in the ninth house. World travels, higher education. Someone who's constantly learning, seeking.
Thinking about their spiritual truth and answers. Searching for a teacher.
But a love of travel.
And they become the teacher. Always teaching and passing on information that they learn.
Venus in the 9th.
This is a love of travel, a love of learning and very artistic. And maybe a soft father. Kind and soft, but sometimes a little bit.
Maybe very wealthy, very rich, but maybe too soft in some respects.
An artist for a father.
Mars in the ninth. A very strict father. But someone who travels the world almost like a world class traveler. Like a. Like a pilot or something. It's like they're constantly on the go places and always learning. High degree of intelligence. A yearning to find find the truth answers and interest in. Possibly interest in the legal profession as well as Jupiter in the 9th House. Legal profession desire to find truth, answers and seeking out spiritual knowledge. Someone who could be a spiritual teacher with Jupiter in the ninth house.
Mars in the ninth. Same travel will desire. But a father that could be very strict and in the military.
Jupiter in the night. Similar.
But more world traveling if you have Saturn in the night. The cold detached father. A father that you never could get that close to. But very successful, very organized.
Very.
Work oriented. The father will direct and want you to be the best you can be. But he may not be around. He may not be around. With Saturn in the ninth house.
With Rahu in the ninth house. A father that is extreme over the top. Too much of a good thing can be any some type of addictions. Too much, too much excess.
If you have Ketu in the ninth house, you never feel like you know your father. You never can feel like you have enough understanding to get close to know your father. Maybe he's busy working, maybe he's constantly gone. But you feel feel like there's a sense that something's always missing with the relationship of the father. This can also indicate a very spiritual father or a father that may not just simply be there at all for you, but ketu in the 10 is a yearning for spiritual knowledge. And you never ever can get enough information along the spiritual information and knowledge and information that you're questing for. Maybe you're not so good at college and university, but the spiritual knowledge is a quest always searching for answers. If Uranus is in the ninth house, yes, there's travel, there's constant travel and many times a disconnect from the Father as well. With Neptune in the ninth house, there is a yearning for spiritual truth beyond this world quest and answers. Maybe a disconnect and not knowing the Father as well. Pluto in the ninth wanting to be in control, a controlling father, or with Pluto in the ninth house, it's that you want to be in control and find your answers. And through spirituality, you think you can control your life. But what you'll learn and understand.
Is you're not in control. There is a higher divine that is in control of all things in your life.
So with that, I hope you have a better understanding of what the ninth house and all the planets therein can mean for you. And if you want to learn more, you can learn more from my university, which is.
