Anthony Bourdain and Kate Spade: Suicide in a Chart

Hi, I'm Joni Petrie, and welcome to my YouTube channel. Today I want to talk about some of the major stars who have just passed due to suicide. And I want to talk about what is it in a chart that you can see that represents these kind of.

Instances or events? Because obviously suicide is so unnatural. But when we talk about what it is in a chart, the most important variables that I immediately key into are going to be the moon, because the moon represents the mind, consciousness, and Mercury, because Mercury is the planet that deals with how we think. And when we're dealing with these instances of extreme mental anguish that would result in suicide, there has to be some kind of connections and issues with the moon and with Mercury. So in this, we're going to discuss the charts of Anthony Bourdain as well as Kate Spade. We do not have a birth time for either of them, although I will give you a suspicion that I think for Anthony Bourdain. But with that, we're going to focus the chart through Chandra Lagna, which means the moon as the ascendant. That's what we do. Because looking at the transits from the moon in Vedic astrology is going to tell you how a person's feeling. And of course, the sense of feeling is vital and important in terms of looking at this. So the first chart I want to look at is Anthony Bourdain. Tony, which his birth date is. He's born in June.

June 25, 1956. We don't know the time, but he was born in New York, New York. Now, I kind of suspect that he may be born around.

2:19Pm.

So 1419, because this would give him a Libra ascendant. And just to give you an idea of why I think his ascendant is Libra, it puts Neptune right on his Ascendant, which Neptune is the planet that deals specifically with film, movies and videos. And, you know, he became a video star with his. With his show.

No Reservations is where it started. And it's just an incredible show about food, culture. And that's one thing that Tony was able to do. He was all about bringing people together all around the world in terms of their culture and particularly around food. And one of the things I've always said is you can't really connect to a culture or a people until you've tasted their food. And this is the joys of travel. And this is what Tony did best. He was able to connect people and appreciate their food and their culture. So.

Traveling long and hard like he did, he was away from family and people he loved. This really does set up a sense of loneliness. And this is a part, I think, is what took his life, which made him feel so disconnected. But looking back to his chart, he was born with Saturn Conjunct Rahu. Now, Saturn Conjunct Rahu is in his second house. This is if I'm using the 2:22:19pm time, I'll just give you a little odds and ends with that. And then we'll look at Chandra Lagna from the Moon because we do know we where his moon is in his birth chart. But Saturn Rahu in Scorpio in the second house. This is the foods we eat. This is what we consume. And he had a particularly strong taste.

He really, you know, to be a chef, you've got to have an acute sense of taste, which he obviously did. Saturn Rahu and Scorpio.

And the second house does deal with things we consume. So therefore it dealt particularly with the fact that he was addicted to drugs. He was addicted to heroin at some point. And, you know, he consumed many drugs. He talks much about that as being in the restaurant business back in the day, or which, trust me, I know because I used to own a restaurant as well. There are crazy things that happen in restaurants late at night when the waiters and the chefs and all are getting off and they don't go home. So this is really going to exemplify what the second house is about. The second house is our voice, but it's also what we consume, what goes into the mouth as well as what comes out of the mouth. And you know, he was a writer and he said things just like the way they are. So that would be rhyme and reason why he would have Saturn Rahu in the second house. He took special foods. He had a keen sense of taste, but he took poisons in which are the drugs, the alcohol, as well as fine foods, rich foods, as well as the Saturn Rahu. His speech. He would say anything most people would be afraid to say. But that was also his candor and the beauty of who he was to really make things realistic and to be honest.

So this would place the moon in the fourth house in Capricorn. You know, a moon in Capricorn is going to give a certain degree of success, ambition, drive, because it's all about business. It's in the fourth house. The moon is comfortable in the fourth house. It's all about feeling connected to home and family, which he was probably pretty close to his mother. But there was a lot that went on that was contentious in the home early on. And this might be the culprit of where he felt disconnected and possibly unloved at some point in his life. That led to the depression, that led to the suicide. Because remember, depression is anger turned inward and not expressed. So the second house is also the house of early childhood, which when you see malefics there, you know someone has had a difficult childhood. Mars, by being in the fifth house, he was vastly creative and he was a writer of books. The fifth house is about writing books. It is the third house from the third house. But his Mars being in the Nakshatra shadow Bishak so many times deals with addictions, particularly to alcohol, but drugs as well. Because this Nakshatra is the Nakshatra that means a hundred healers. And what it means is diseases that are very hard to heal. And in Tony's case, this could have dealt with his drug addictions.

Now he had Mercury conjunct Ketu. And being in his eighth house, this was Mercury in the eighth, by the way, Mercury in the eighth. Mercury is the only planet that doesn't lose strength in the eighth house. It makes one a profound, deep thinker and highly intellectual. And with Ketu, he went to the core and the bottom and the essence of what thoughts, where they could take you. And he was very insightful and intuitive. Mercury, Ketu. But it's probably in his eighth house using this Libra ascendant. And this would represent his deep thoughts and even suicidal thoughts. And many times they say when you have Planets in the 8th House, the 8th House is the house of suicide. Because it is radical extremes in the way that you die. It just is. So Venus with the sun in his ninth house.

Tony was very spiritual. He really thought deeply. And in terms of his spirituality, the truth, he traveled to India, he traveled the Orient. He traveled to the monasteries and talked to the monks. He talked to a Vedic astrologer at one point when he was in India. So he was a very, very curious person. And this goes into the fact that his sun and Venus are in Gemini.

You may think if you're watching this and you haven't connected to the fact that I'm doing sidereal Vedic astrology yet, you're thinking, oh, he's born June 25th. He is a cancer. No, this whole zodiac shifts everything back a sign just about almost a sign. And his son and his Venus, which are combust, by the way, problems with relationships combust Venus, but they're in Gemini. And this is who Tony really was.

He's not Cancer. He Gemini, Geminis Write, they travel, they're curious, they have a sense of humor. And this is everything that Tony was. Sun is in Gemini and it's in his ninth house. The ninth house is the house of long distance travel. He traveled the world. So this is how I see Tony Bourdain's chart. He's a world traveler, interesting, curious, and he writes about it. This is where the sun is in his chart in the ninth house of world travel. Now Jupiter is in the 11th and Jupiter is in Leo and it is conjunct, the fixed star regulus being at 4 degrees. Regulus is 5 to 6 degrees of LEO. And this represents leadership qualities.

In the 11th House it brought him great wealth because the 11th House is great gains. So you're going to find that he brought out so much wealth, but particularly later in life. It didn't happen earlier, but it was through his writing, through his mind, through his travels, through his ambition. But it was his moon that was affected during the time of this suicide because his moon is around 9 degrees of Capricorn. And being 9 degrees of Capricorn, that is essentially where Mars and Ketu were traveling at the time that he lost complete control of his mind. There is the anger, the sin, sadness, the depression. Everything came together and this was uncontrollable. So in a violent way of death to hang yourself and I might add with the Saturn Rahu in the second house that rules the neck. And this is where the violent act came that he killed himself.

So I do think that the Libra Ascendant works well. Besides, he was very peace loving. Everyone that met him said he got along with everyone. This is the Libra Ascendant. So I'm thinking that this chart reads very accurately. But just in case this time that I have calculated through rectification is not correct. Because you know, you always kind of wonder, it could be this, it could be that. Let's funnel it through the moon because transcending planets from the moon are the most significant. So Mars, Ketu, being on the moon, it's like they're in the first house.

His moon is Capricorn. In the Nakshatra, Uttara Ashada, Uttarashada is always about finding the truth and righteousness, being true to your beliefs and if they're not congruent, in other words, if what you believe doesn't measure up to your actions, you will feel very much intense guilt. So I'm thinking he had some kind of guilt complex going on here. Even though he felt like what he was projecting to the world was something different than what was truly within his heart and soul. Now Uranus is opposing his moon. This represents temperamental changes, emotional changes. And if you look at Chandra Lagna moon as the ascendant, Uranus goes to the seventh house. Saturn, so many changes and disruptions in the area of relationships. The moon rules the seventh house from where it's located by Cancer being in the opposite sign of the moon. So there was something going on with this sense of being disconnected to others through relationships. Now Mars being in the second house from the moon also depicts his taking in poisons such as drugs. Mars being second house from the moon will also give a high metabolism. I don't know how he could eat what he ate all the time and stay as thin as he was. So Mars in the second will give that quality of the metabolism. But remember Mars being in Aquarius and being in that Nakshatra. Ashata Bishak, once again, I can't reiterate enough. This Nakshatra does deal with problems, with addictions.

Looking towards.

Tony's fifth house is where fifth from the moon he has Ketu Mercury and Ketu Mercury are all about his writing. His profound deep writing that he felt was essential to bring people together. And if we look to the sixth house, the sixth house is where he has the Venus sun from the Moon. Remember, I'm talking Chandra Lagna and this is where he. It's all about the food. The sixth house is about food, diet, nutrition, how we eat, how we take care of ourselves. But to have Venus and the sun and Venus be combust, there were some health issues, I'll have to give it that. And some of it had to do with the lungs. And I just realized looking at this, because Gemini rules the lungs and it's six from the moon, he smoked for the vast duration of his life. He had health problems probably concerning the lungs.

So then I'm looking at Jupiter being in the, let's see, from the moon it's going to be eighth, it's going to be in the eighth house. So that deals with his feelings of death, transformation. But he was very insightful, very, very psychic. But Jupiter, by the fact that it rules the third house from the moon and it goes to the eighth house from the moon. And this can be said to be the determinant of suicide. Many times when you have a connection between the third house and the eighth house, because the third house is our will, our willpower to do things, our courage. And when the ruler of the third, which is Jupiter looking at Chandra Lagna goes to the eighth House that can mean that people take their life because they don't have the will to live anymore. That's where the ruler of the third goes to the eighth. I've seen this many, many times. And not only that, it's Jupiter. And it also not only rules just the third house. When we're looking at Capricorn as the ascendant, it also rules the 12th house of losses. So the ruler of the 12th goes to the 8th. And probably because the 12th house deals with sleep, the ruler of the 12th going to the 8th can tell that he had major problems sleeping. And that is tough to be in your right mind when you never sleep. So that's another strong indication here going to his 11th house. Here with Capricorn Lagna ascendant, that is Saturn, Rahu are in the 11th house. The 11th house deals most specifically with gains. And Saturn with Rahu is extreme gains. Remember that Saturn is likened to Rahu and Rahu is likened to Saturn. They're one in the same, they like each other. And when you put them together, they represent something major and powerful that they will bring about in life. So this is in the 11th house which rules gains. And if you notice the second house being Aquarius from the moon is Saturn rules the second and it goes to the 11th with Rahu. He was a multimillionaire. Second house is the money we make. And the 11th house is great gains. When people have a connection between the 2nd and the 11th, it represents monumental gains and wealth and money. Most billionaires have a connection between the 2nd and the 11th. And although I don't think Tony was a billionaire, he was a millionaire. Saturn ruler of the second in the 11th with Rahu, major gains. This is incredible. So this is processing his chart and I want to say that at the time of his death, see, he was in, according to my calculations around Saturn, Sun Mahadasha. And I want to say that Saturn, by the fact that it rules the second house, that's a Marika house, but it is placed in Saturn is placed ruler of the second in the 11th, and it's with Rahu. This is intense. This is difficult now to look at the sun. The sun was in the 6th House of Health and healing, but it does rule. Remember, I'm talking from the moon, the eighth house. So it makes sense that he was in the dasha of Saturn's sun. Saturn being America. Marika, by the way, are the planets that rule the second or the seventh. And it actually means killer. And even planets that are in the second or the seventh can be considered marika planets as well. So people are generally in the dashas of these two planets when they die.

But the sun ruler of the eighth house, remember the eighth house deals with suicide, deals with sudden unexpected extremes around death. People who take their life, it will deal with the eighth house. So it makes total sense that you can see in this chart looking from the moon, the rhyme and reason why this happened. And I do believe, I do believe in the cases of suicide that it can be prevented. So now I want to take the time to go to Kate space Spades chart. And she was born December 24, 1962. We don't have a time, but she was born in Kansas City, Missouri. And Kate Spade same thing took her life through hanging.

Unbelievable how this can happen. Now I don't have a suspected time. I haven't worked on her chart in terms of rectification. But just looking at Chandra Lagna, her moon is in Scorpio. And this would place the Saturn Ketu in the third house which the third house is of the house of courage. And you will find that looking at this, looking at this chart, this moon as the ascendant, this makes Gemini the eighth house. So Mercury the planet that rules the eighth house and it goes to the second house. Now many, many times you're going to find that Mercury and the moon are very essential to see where the mind is at. And Mercury by the fact that it rules the eighth house from the moon. But it is in Sagittarius and it is with the sun. Realize that transiting Saturn is almost exactly on her sun at the time of this horrible event that she took her life. Sometimes when Saturn's on the sun you feel so depressed, no energy, you feel like all energy is drained out of your body. Now it is occurring in the second house from the moon. This is a marca house. So this can deal with death.

But the Saturn Ketu in Capricorn is the most important variable here because at the time of the suicide transiting Mars and Ketu were almost exactly on her Saturn and her natal Ketu. So she has a nodal return where Rahu has come back to Rahu and Ketu has come back to Ketu. And this occurs for everyone every 18 and a half years. And she's at around 56 years old. So.

This is crucial. Whenever people have these conjunctions, remember that Mars and Ketu on her natal Saturn Saturn rules. The third house is in the third house. Third house is our will, it is our willpower, it's our drive, It's Our ambition, it is our courage, it's our will to live. And she lost it and she gave it up. So that's how I see Kate Spade. The most important thing that the Mars Ketu was on her Saturn K2 in her third house of her will to live, she lost it. And transiting Saturn being on her sun now I assume looking at her Dashas, she was somewhere around the moon's Maha Dasha entering into the moon cycle. And the moon being in Scorpio is debilitated. It is very difficult. And let me point out something else. Transiting Mars with Ketu, we're aspecting her natal Mars by its Mars 8th aspect. And that was one thing I didn't bring out in Anthony Bourdain's chart. The fact that Mars was also aspecting his Jupiter which from Chandra Lagna goes to the 8th House. So Mars special aspects 100% in power are of course a conjunction, the opposition, four placements from itself, the forward square and eight placements from where Mars is transiting, which is its full bodied aspect 8th from where it's transiting. And for Anthony Bourdain it would have been aspecting his Jupiter which is that planet in his 8th house. Mars 8th aspect. As well as for Kate's Spade.

She has Mars aspecting her natal Mars which is because her moon is in Scorpio, the dispositing planet of her moon. So you see her moon of the mind was being activated by the violence of Mars. And because Mars is transiting with Ketu, Mars carries with it the essence and the vibration of Ketu when it sends its aspects to other planets. So Kate Spade that Saturn Ketu was really what did her in. And Anthony Bourdain bottom line, it's his moon, his natal moon that was being afflicted by the Mars Ketu that was the most important culprit.

And I want to just remind everyone, you know Robin Williams, comedian Robin Williams also committed suicide and he in his chart had the moon conjunct Rahu. The moon is the mind and it can be extreme when it's conjunct Rahu.

Robin Williams moon Rahu were in the Nakshatra.

Shadow Bishak, which Chate Bishak is the Nakshatra of addictions. Robin was known to struggle with addictions as well as Anthony Bourdain. He had his Mars in the Nakshatra of Chadhabishak. And Kate Spade has her natal Jupiter which is in her fourth house.

In Chate Bishak. That Nakshatra is very, very hard to overcome addictions or mental problems. Now, one last thing I want to mention that I think is very interesting because birthdays do matter. One of the other more destructive stars that has come to the surface of the news and within the past few years is singer George Michael. And one last thing I want to add to this is George Michael was known to be so destructive. Here was a man that was so handsome and talented and he destroyed himself with drugs and alcohol. And of course, this is a mental problem. But I find it so interesting that George Michael and Anthony Bourdain have the same birthday, June 25th. So with that I'd like to leave you with all this information. There's so much more really that we can process through these charts. But I wanted to give you the culprit and I want to leave you with.

This message. Because during this time of transiting, Rahu in the sign of cancer which will disrupt and destroy family.

Mars with Ketu. And as we come into this period of the eclipses, and especially with Mercury opposing the moon with Mercury, Rahu sun and Mercury goes retrograde and Mars, Ketu and the moon come together during these eclipses, people will be out of their minds. And there is going to be more death in the world of entertainers of all sorts, whether they are in film, music or even writers. There's going to be prolific people past because of this incredible eclipse that's happening, affecting people's minds.
