Hi, I'm Joni Petrie, and welcome to my YouTube channel. Well, today I'd like to talk about a book that I just put out on Amazon called Awaken to the Power within you.
And I wanted to talk about this because it's very personal to me, the experience that I had many years ago when I wrote this book. I wrote this book around the years of 2006 to 2007.
And it was a result of a very difficult time in my life around 2004. Both of my parents died that year, nine months apart. And I was really, really close to them. We lived next door to my parents, and I took care of them in 10 years. Prior to that, they constantly had health problems. I was constantly taking them to doctors, to hospitals, and consequently emergency rooms and ambulances because there was always like a fall or something happening.
So during that 10 years, you know, I was in a really difficult place. But I was so happy to be with my parents. And once that they passed, it was a very lonely, sad period. And even also right after that, there was an array of events that just brought me down to rock bottom. You know, relationship problems, financial problems, trying to raise three children, three boys, all at the same time, pay for everything. You know, it was a dark period. So my solace was to write this book. And what I did was I wrote about all the things that I was bringing together metaphysically to heal my life. And so consequently, I processed and wrote about all the positive reinforcements and activities and tools and techniques that I practiced during that time that I came to realize that this time they all worked because my life turned.
180 degrees difference. And I know it's due to these practices, but what I didn't realize was just how specific and how well they work till now. And, you know, everything happens for a reason, and everything happens. It's all about timing. So I wrote this book, it was actually finished, I believe, in 2006. And I went to go publish it when I. Well, the way that this book is put together is I put a beautiful image, a picture, a photo that depicted the symbology of the message I wanted people to get out of the message. Each page has a different message, therefore has a different photo picture that the subconscious mind reads as what the expression is saying in the written words. So together, I feel like it connected the subconscious with the conscious awareness through the written material as well. That is talking about a certain tool that I was using at the time.
So I figured it could be almost used as a divination tool where you could Open the book and you get that message for each day that you needed to practice and learn. So the book was loaded, like maybe 300 colored pictures. And I went to the publisher and they said, okay, we'll publish it. It's going to cost you over $20,000. At that time, that was out of the question and impossible. So the book never got published. And now with the way publishing is and Kindle doesn't cost anything to put all those colored pictures in there. And I decided now's the time to get this information and out to the world. So I just put it out on Kindle and you can find it on Amazon. It is awaken to the power within you. But what I really want you to gather and know about this book is it is all my personal experiences throughout the years and how I used different tools such as the power of thought, the power changing emotion, changing our life. In terms of astrology, my tools of astrology also with mantras, with affirmations, these were all the things that I incorporated that had this.
Transformational effect on my life. And this, I felt like, is the time now that everyone else can benefit from these tools that I will say without a shadow of a doubt, transformed and changed my life. And now I'm in the place that I always, always wanted to be. And all the issues I had before, the fear, the financial problems, the relationship problems, all that's healed. I am.
