Capricorn Rising Sign; Saturn Is Your Ruler, Most Responsible of the Zodiac

YouTube transcript (Joni Patry) explaining Vedic/sidereal astrology for people with Capricorn as their Ascendant (Lagna). The speaker outlines Nakshatra subdivisions inside Capricorn (Uttara Ashada, Shravana, Dhanishta), symbolic meanings (victory, listening, wealth), and then reviews how Saturn — as chart ruler for Capricorn rising — functions when placed in each house (1–12), including likely life themes, strengths, challenges, and timing (e.g., delayed success, career focus, health tendencies).

All of this is on Galactic Center.org so with that, let's continue on and talk about if your Ascendant rising sign, we call it the Lagna in Vedic astrology, is Capricorn. Now, if your Ascendant or rising sign sits from 0 degrees of Capricorn to 10 degrees of Capricorn, then this means that your Ascendant is not only in Capricorn, but it's also in the Nakshatra called Uttara Ashada. Uttara Ashada is the Nakshatra that deals with finding the truth. There's the two ashras, which, which is Purva Ashada and then Uttara Ashada. They're both. They both pertain to seeking and finding truth. And the first, the Purva and part of Capricorn, is still in Purva Ashada, which is the former.
Victory. I mean, the former victory Means that if you have it in. But this is going to mean that your ascendant is in Sagittarius if you have this. So if it's in Capricorn, it's going to be in Uttara Ashada. Uttara Ashada means the latter victory, which actually means that you will experience your best results and be victorious in your life in the latter part of life, not so early as the one in Sagittarius. But with this you have latter success, which personally I would prefer because it's better to have it, to have it when you didn't have it, or rather than lose it. So you're going to gain. That's all I'm going to say. And this is the Nakshatra that deals with right action. So people with this Nakshatra are so truthful down to earth, truthful. They will never.
Be comfortable with telling a lie, even a white lie. They're all about justice, truth and right action. So it's a very spiritual Nakshatra, to say the least. And its symbol is a tele. Elephant tusk, which is very much in tune with power. And Vega is the star in the lower part of the. Of the lier. So it deals with musical abilities as well. This is a very incredible Nakshatra for victory, success, power. And even musicians are born with this, with this Nakshatra strong. So going forward with this. This is the sign of Capricorn. Remember, what is Capricorn all about? Well, Capricorn is all about.
Rising to the top. Its symbol is in Western astrology, it's a sea goat, which is very interesting that it has. The goat is the top portion of the symbol, but a fish is the bottom symbol of Capricorn. Very interesting. What in the world does that mean? Well, it made more sense when I discovered what the symbol is for Capricorn. Vedic astrology, the crocodile. Think about the sea goat versus the crocodile. It is an animal that lives on both land and water. So that means adaptability when it comes to the material world. Capricorn is an earth sign and it's ruled by Saturn. It deals with karma, it deals with material things. It deals with the essence of this world, earthy, the salt of the earth, the things that give us the power to make money. Because capricorn is the 10th sign. It's relative to the 10th house, which is our career and our purpose. And you have to know that Saturn as the ruler of Capricorn does deal with our purpose. And yes, it does have very much connection to. To our career, our purpose. What we're here to do our dharma. You see, that is what the 10th house is relative to the dharma of our life. Our success depends on what we feel purposeful about doing. And we're not going to be happy if we don't feel a sense of purpose in this life. That's all Capricorn. And Capricorn is the achiever, but it deals with Saturn. So it deals with. It knows that it has to work hard. Saturn is all about hard work. It's all about discipline. It's all about focus, structure and responsibility.
This is all the keywords that really are about Saturn. But you can interchange all those keywords for the sign Capricorn because that is totally what Capricorns are all about. They would never dream of being late for what minute to their. To their work because it's so important to them to have a sense of purpose and to be right and just and fair. And.
It'S a sign of hard work and labor that produces results. Therefore, it makes sense if you're born with your. The degrees, the first 10 degrees of Capricorn, that you're going to be very successful in the later part, second part of life. Now let's talk about. If you have Capricorn rising but Your ascendant is 10 degrees to 23 degrees, 20 minutes of Capricorn, then this takes into account the Nakshatra Shravana. Your Ascendant sits in the Nakshatra Shravana, which symbol is the ear. And it is called the Star of Listening.
So people with this Nakshatra are fabulous listeners. They make great counselors. Someone who really does listen. Instead of thinking the whole time while somebody's talking what they're going to say next, they truly open their mind and their ears and hear what someone has to say. So this is a beautiful Nakshatra for learning. And people with this Nakshatra, strong love libraries and books and information. And their books are probably one of their most favorite possessions in this world. They love to learn. And books are their gemstones in this world because they're packed full of information. They love to read. They love to go to classes. They love to travel and see the world because everything is a learning experience to them. Now, somewhere within this Nakshatra.
Early on is the fixed star altar. And that is one of the most powerful fixed stars in the heavens. It deals with success and power.
I love that, that star altar. So be aware that you are really a driven and powerful individual with this. With this Nakshatra rising.
So going to. If your Ascendant degree sits after 23 degrees, 20 minutes till the very end of the sign, 30 degrees of Capricorn. Then this means that your ascendant degrees sits in the Nakshatra. Danishta Dhanista is actually said to be the richest one. It does deal with great material gains and wealth. But this Nakshatra can have a double edged sword because it is ruled by Mars, by the way, and its symbol is a hollow drum or a flute. These are two instruments that are hollow. But that connotation does deal with the rhythm and timing, that they can somehow have the sixth sense to know when to be somewhere, have intuition of timing, when to go and be somewhere at the right time, meet the right places. This is all about timing. But they're also very good with playing the drums or music, having rhythm, they love to dance their movement, they are in tune with the beat. Let me just say that. But this is a very wealthy Nakshatra and they can absolutely be visionaries. It sits at the stars, it's a spot small group, group of stars that sits at the head of the dolphin. So this is a beautiful star of intelligence as well, with that and emotion and feeling. But it does have its problems many times with marriage. But that's usually if there's planets in the seventh house in this particular Nakshatra. But it does deal with a certain degree of someone that doesn't feel, think so much about others. They can be one sided. And that's where it has its effects, where it can harm relationships. So continuing on, I want to really talk about, about if you have a Capricorn Ascendant, which you are very wise because Capricorn is ruled by Saturn and Saturn deals with wisdom. Wisdom comes through old age, through experience. Not necessarily being old, but we learn through experience. And the older we get, the more experiences we have. So this is definitely a keynote to having Capricorn as the rising sign. Now if your rising sign is Capricorn, then this means that Saturn is your chart ruler. And if you have Saturn in Capricorn in the first house, then this means that you are mega, ultra responsible. You would never dream of being late or not doing what's right at the right time. And probably with this rising with Saturn being in the first house, and the closer it is to the ascendant degree, the more intense you are. Ultra, mega responsible. And you probably had to take care of most the people in your family, including your parents. If not you felt responsible to take care of them. It was always this heavy impending feeling. And you know, at your birth the closer Saturn is to the Ascendant might have been difficult.
Maybe you were three weeks late. Saturn is delays and setbacks and problems in the first house. You are very.
Seriously minded. You can be very serious about everything. You take things to heart.
No playing around or joking around. This is serious. Life is serious to you. You have the sense of responsibility and you want to take care of everyone.
Plus, don't forget.
Your birth. Coming into this world was maybe in some way delayed or difficult. So let's say that you have Capricorn Ascendant.
And Saturn. Your chart ruler sits in your second house. The second house is Aquarius. So that means you would have Saturn in Aquarius in your second house. Saturn's your chart ruler. What does that tell you? Well, second house is early childhood experiences throughout the time frame that you spend at home with your family. And there were a lot of heavy things going on. Maybe there were some struggles going on in the family or difficulties. It wasn't an easy childhood experience. And Saturn being in Aquarius, Aquarius is ruled by Saturn. It's heavy, it's strong, it's powerful. And I'll say your sense of responsibility was. You were given a ton of responsibility as a child. Furthermore.
You'Ve got to really work on your sense of self esteem because Saturn being in the first or the second house will really play havoc on your sense of your value, your self esteem. Because your family puts so much heavy stuff on you early on. And therefore you take to heart anything to do with making money and being successful in this world. You take it to heart and you work hard. You are bound and determined to be a success from early on because this is where these values were really put into your mind, your consciousness and your awareness and how you react to anything in the world. You're a serious minded person that knows you've got to make money to afford the things you want to protect and take care of your family. And that is something that you work hard at doing.
Okay, let's say that you have Capricorn rising and your Saturn sits in your third house. This means you have Saturn in Pisces. Saturn in Pisces can be a little bit more sensitive than Saturn in Capricorn. Aquarius has more feeling to it, but I'll tell you, instances dealing with siblings and you may be the youngest one, not necessarily, but you could with Saturn in the third house, meaning there's no one beneath you in the birth order, but Saturn there means you will be distant and not so close to your brothers or sisters. Might be There's a big difference in age. There might be that, that you move away from each other, there's just a separation, or you just find that there's nothing in common. But Saturn also being in the third house might mean that you struggled a bit early on in school. That doesn't mean that you weren't successful in upper school, in college. But early on you might have had difficulty. You had to study harder, you had to try harder, and then again you had issues around the house with siblings. Those type of things would be with Saturn in the third, in Pisces, with Capricorn rising, it is a focus and you might find it difficult to express yourself, especially with your communication skills, but with hard work and diligence, it becomes an asset to you.
All right, let's talk about. If you have Capricorn rising and you have Saturn in your fourth house, then this means you have Saturn in Aries in your fourth house. And Saturn happens to be debilitated in Aries. So therefore you have Saturn in its debilitation sign in the fourth house. It deals with your sense of security. That should come from your mother, which means she wasn't very good in providing your sense of security and protection while you were growing up as a child, maybe you moved around a lot, maybe there was just not a connection between you or your mother. Or maybe it's your mother that had a very, very difficult life. It could be all of the above or one thing that's really prominent in your life because remember this is your chart ruler. Wherever the chart ruler goes will always tell you about your focus on and off throughout your life. And Saturn being an Aries, sometimes you feel like you can't connect to people. You can't, because Aries is very one sided.
And it may mean that you struggle trying to find a home. You never feel at home anywhere. You're always looking for a better place to move, a better place to be. But you never really feel like you're at home with Saturn and Aries in your fourth house.
With that, you may even have a sense of not feeling comfortable with yourself because the fourth house is the house of happiness. And it also deals with vehicles and cars. So you might find that you can't ever, your cars are lemons or things like that. Just be aware of that. Okay, so if you have Capricorn rising and you have Saturn in your fifth house, it means you have Saturn in Taurus. And actually Saturn really loves to be in the sign of Taurus. And you have a very methodical thinking mind. You Understand things. So you need to understand things from the core, the bottom, the essence of things. This is how your learning process takes root. You need to understand things, how they, the mechanics behind things. It means you learn methodically, but you remember you have a good mind with it. Being there in the fifth house. You may have children later in life, it might be delayed, or maybe there's a limit to how many children you have. Of course it's going to depend on other planets that may be there, but if it's by itself, this will be true to what I'm saying. But usually it would be delaying children. Not necessarily denying. Saturn does not.
Deny children being in the fifth house. But the thinking process is slow and mechanical. And I want to say that.
You are vastly creative, but you've got to believe in yourself because Saturn being there, you don't feel like you're as creative as you truly are. So that's something mentally you've got to overcome.
If you're a Capricorn rising and you have Saturn in the sixth house, then that means your Saturn sits in Gemini.
Saturn in Gemini means you love to learn methodically a lot of things. You work hard with Saturn in the sixth house. No doubt you're a hard worker. You work so much.
You try to have a good rapport with your employees or your co workers around the workplace. But Saturn being in Gemini in the sixth house, because it is the house of health and healing, you're going to have an interest there. You're going to work hard to be healthy in Gemini. You might want to attest to the fact that you could have problems with the lungs or breathing or congestion. You're prone to bronchitis, allergies, colds, things of that nature.
Asthma, those type of things you have to be aware of. But Saturn being in the sixth house is somebody that would never dream of being late to work. Ultra mega responsible in the workplace and an absolute blessing to any employee employer to have you work for them because you work hard and you're constantly learning and expanding around the area of your work, what kind of work you do. You're always going to learn more and progress and grow in that area.
But you might have to struggle somewhat more in the area of health, but you'll work at it.
So let's say you're Capricorn rising and your chart ruler Saturn sits in the seventh house. That means it's going to be in cancer in your seventh house, meaning, well, Saturn gets directional strength in the seventh house, which means when you're in a relationship you will work as hard as possible to make it last, to make it work. You will do everything. And probably many times you might stay in a relationship way past its due date because you're so busy to try to make it work. And sometimes with Saturn in the seventh house, people do stay married because Saturn goes for the duration. Plus Saturn in the seventh house. Well, it could mean the partner is older many times, but they will be highly attuned and sensitive, probably over, over the top sensitive and slow to react about things. This is describing your partner, since Saturn is in the seventh house.
And that can also mean business partnerships. Be aware that your business partners may be older, more mature, wiser, and hypersensitive by the fact that your Saturn is in cancer.
Okay, let's say you are a Capricorn rising and your Saturn sits in the eighth house. That means you have Saturn in Leo. Saturn does not like to be in Leo. And in the eighth house, anyone that has the ruler of the first and the eighth has at some point in their life difficulties dealing with the past, with disgrace, humiliation, something that went on early on, something about your life that you have to deal with. And remember, Saturn is karma. So it's like some karmic thing you have to go through, but what evolves out of it is, is when you have the chart ruler in the eighth house, and particularly it being Saturn, you will come to a place of being humbled. And there's nothing more powerful than coming to a place of being humbled, because that gets rid of so much karma, so much karma. Saturn is karma. And through a humbling experience, you will grow by leaps and bounds spiritually through the process of eliminating this karma and Saturn. Also in the eighth house, you can sometimes feel blocked when it comes to intuition or spirituality. You've got to learn to trust yourself. That's a given.
If you have Capricorn rising and you have your chart ruler Saturn in the ninth house, then that means it sits in Virgo. And that means that you're extremely focused on detail, getting things right, almost to the point where it's difficult for you to move on because you have to come to a point in realization that nothing is ever perfect. You got to do your best and move on. Don't keep going back and perfecting it over and over and over again. And then Saturn being in your ninth house will mean maybe a distant relationship with your father or. Or your father was extremely critical in scrutinizing and analytical. You will be extremely analytical, by the way, with Saturn being in Virgo, but particularly in the ninth house about your truths, your spiritualities, about the things that you want to grow in consciousness. You will be very scrutinizing and probably you need to become your own teacher because you're going to be disappointed in teachers with Saturn in the 9th and maybe you're disappointed in your dad, but all at the same time, Saturn can have a very humbling effect and the father may be humbled and very intellectual in some way. With Saturn in virgo in the 9th house, you may not be traveling so much either. Actually, Saturn in the third or the ninth can slow up how much one would travel or go out to see the world. But you will definitely be extraordinarily safe, serious about all your higher educational needs and what you're going to be studying and doing. You take it so serious. Okay, let's say that you are Capricorn Rising and you have Saturn in the 10th house. You are very blessed and lucky because not only does Saturn love the 10th house and it will help you with your work ethic and your career and opportunities, but it's exalted there in library. So you will be the hardest working. I hope you have your own business, your own company because you are going to be doing all the work and that makes you a success.
You're good with people, you know how to connect with people in the workplace and you make your workplace a happy place for others to be. Otherwise you might have a boss that is like this, very hard nosed, very disciplinarian, but knows how to treat people. This is Saturn in Libra. Libra is about people and coming together with people in your 10th house. But it means that you have to have a sense of purpose and your career is ultra mega important to you. One of the most important things, it's how you define yourself. And with this actually Saturn being in the 10th house in Libra, it's a Sasha yoga. What is a Sasha yoga? When Saturn is either in its own sign of rulership or exalted in an angular house. So 1, 4, 7 and 10. So actually Saturn being in Capricorn in the first house is also a Sasha yoga, which means you are so focused and disciplined. What it means is it's actually called a Mahapurusha yoga and for Saturn it's called the Sasha, which Mahapurusha yoga means the yoga of great men should be men and women, but that's okay. And Sasha yoga is when you have Saturn either in its own sign of rulership.
And or exalted. So Saturn in its sign of rulership is Capricorn in Aquarius, and its sign of exaltation is Libra. So, so if you have Saturn in one of those three signs and it sits in an angular house, which the angles are 1, 4, 7 and 10, then you have Sasha yoga. And so actually, Saturn being in Capricorn in the first house is a Sasha yoga as well. And what it equates to is that all the qualities of Saturn are who you are, which is disciplined, responsible, focused, structure, oriented, everything to do with discipline, you are that. And that leads to great success. So this is the yoga of great beings, a.
Mahapurusha yoga with Sasha yoga being Saturn. So Saturn in the 10th house will bring great success for work and career and purpose. It's a wonderful, wonderful place to have Saturn exalted. And remember this, the planet that is exalted in the chart is the chart ruler. That's who you are. Career is your focus. That's how you label, and that's how you define yourself through your work and your career. Saturn. So if you have Capricorn rising and Saturn sits in your 11th house, that means you have Saturn in Scorpio. And this is intense, of course, Saturn being in SCORPIO in your 11th House, you may not have a lot of friends. It's not that you don't enjoy people and have friends, but you don't like a lot of frivolous friends. You will only have few friends that you can depend on. Remember Saturn's dependability, and you need that out of your friends. Therefore you don't have all these acquaintances and people that take your time away. You'll only have a few friends, and you really do appreciate the ones that you can trust that are dependable and therefore you've known for a long time. So usually Saturn in the 11th house means you have a lot of old friendships, friends from the past that you know you can rely on and depend on. Otherwise you'd rather be by yourself.
And also, Saturn in the 11th house could mean you're the oldest one in your family, means no one's above you in the birth order. And if you do happen to have older siblings, then it would mean that.
You'Re probably distant from them, not as well connected with them. Maybe, like I said, it could be age, it could be where you live, but you're just not that close to the oldest sibling with Saturn being there, especially in Scorpio. Scorpio can have a lot of connotations as well with jealousy. So you may have an older sibling that could be jealous in some way. Another Thing is, with groups and organizations and you are not the person who's going to jump to go to the next party or social event. You prefer to be with small groups of people or one friend. You're not going to waste your time with big gatherings or groups with Saturn being in the 11th House. Now, let's say you're Capricorn rising ascendant and your Saturn sits in the 12th house. This means that your Saturn is in Sagittarius and the ruler of the chart. First of all, going to the 12th house, you're very private. You need your time alone. The that's where you really do gain in your energy level. It's like you've got to, you got to be alone and in solitude to build your batteries because.
You'Re very, very private. And that's where you need solitude to sort of regroup, regain your energy. And I'll tell you something else. When you have Saturn in the 12th, you might find that sleeping is a problem. The 12th house deals with our sleep, our sleeping and dreams. You may not remember your dreams or you may have problems getting to sleep, staying to sleep, getting enough sleep. That's Saturn in the 12th house. And another thing is, you may feel like your life has been difficult because the 12th house is the house of losses. But it's also the house that, that deals with our escape from the world. So it can deal with hospitals, it can deal with prisons, it can deal with. And that could even mean that you work these places. Absolutely. It also deals with sleep and our endings in life. So it deals with our past and Saturn being there. And it means that sometimes you can't let go of your past. And that's exactly what you've come here to do, to learn to let go of the past. That's going to have the most healing effect on your life, of everything else. So remember Saturn in the 12th, it's time to let go. Because that will be your ultimate healing in this lifetime when you learn to let go. So I have covered all of the placements that the chart ruler Saturn can be for the rising sign of Capricorn. I hope that this has given you more information to help become more aware of who you are concerning this beautiful rising sign of the ultimate ultra, ultra mega responsible human being that you are when you have Capricorn as your rising sign. So with that, I'd like to close. Remember always. You want to learn more about me? You want to sign up for my magazine, my Shooting Stars.
