This is a short YouTube talk by Joni Patry about the fixed star Fomalhaut (referred to variously as Famulat/Famula/Vamila) — one of the four "royal stars" associated with seasons. Patry gives the star's tropical and sidereal degree positions (tropical: ~3° Pisces; sidereal/Vedic: ~10° Aquarius), discusses its potential for extreme outcomes depending on planetary aspects, and emphasizes its links to creativity, intellectual gifts, fame, healing (via the Shatabhisha Nakshatra), and metaphysical interests. She also notes its archangelic association (Gabriel) and offers brief examples (George Harrison’s son; astrologer Juliana Swanson).

Hi, I'm Joni Petrie and welcome to my YouTube channel. Today I'd like to talk about the fixed star Famulot, which is one of the four royal stars. Famulat is the royal star that indicated the onset of winter. So we have the four royal stars that represent the seasons. So we have Aldebaran, which is in Taurus, representing spring. Then we have Regulus, which is in Leo, which is for the summer. We have Antares, which is in Scorpio, for the fall. And we have Famulot, which is, which is in the winter. And it is Aquarius. So Famulat is in the water bearer, which is relative to Aquarius. And let me talk about the degrees that are important that you're going to be looking for in your chart relative to this powerful, powerful royal star, which is Famula. So if you're looking at the tropical zodiac used in western astrology, you are looking at 3 degrees of Pisces. But for the sidereal zodiac that I use in Vedic astrology, you will find it is at 10 degrees of Aquarius. I mean, this is Aquarius. So of course the stars are relative to the constellations and what we know them to mean and represent. So if your birthday falls around February 23rd, you will have the sun conjunct Famula. So remember that I look at these degrees also in opposition because oppositions are extremely powerful as well. So going back to the western tropical placement, you will be looking at 3 degrees of Pisces, but also 3 degrees of Virgo. And if you're looking at your sidereal Vedic chart, you're looking at 10 degrees of Aquarius, but also 10 degrees of Leo are going to be held active with this star.
So what does this star represent? This star is, they said it can be extremes, it can be extreme good, or it can be extreme difficulty. And that will be relative to what planet that you have conjunct, fire, Famula or opposed. Is it a benefic which is Jupiter, Venus, Moon or Mercury? Or is it a malefic? Is it Mars or Saturn? That could determine that this could have a sudden fall or difficulty. But one thing for sure, a Famula will always give is creative talents such as a writer, such as a musician, such as somebody that's extremely creative and they say many times scientific, very, very powerful intellectual abilities.
When planets are conjunct this big star, regardless if they're malefic or benefic. And another thing is I've made reference to the four royal stars in terms of their association with the archangels. This archangel for famula is Gabriel. So that's another strong power that deals with the reminiscent qualities of this archangel Gabriel.
So if you have your ascendant degree conjunct famulat.
This would bring and denote great fame and a high reputation. So this can be indicative of fame. And remember I said this is incredibly powerful for intellectual abilities and artistic abilities. George Harrison, the Beatle, the former Beatle had his son conjunct famulot.
And I want to add that one of my dear friends, Vedic astrologer Juliana Swanson, she has her sun conjunct Vamila, an extremely intelligent, brilliant woman. So recognize that this star is also in the Nakshatra, Shadow Bishak. And this Nakshatra is known for its healing powers. It is called the Hundred Healers. The other aspect of what Shadow Bishak is about the they say it is called the Sky Watcher. So people with powerful planets in this Nakshatra and close to this fixed star have the quest to want to know what's in the heavens, either through astrology, astronomy, science. This is what this is about. And looking at the hundred healers, doctors, healers of all kinds have powerful planets in this Nakshatra. And they say that Chate Bishak can deal with diseases or problems that are very difficult to heal. And what is that about? Well, when I think of problems that are very difficult to heal in this day and age, aside with cancer and heart disease, but mental disease, especially dealing with alcoholism, this Nakshatra has an association to alcohol in many respects. So you're going to find people that have some difficulty or relationship to others, that have problems with addiction are relevant to this Nakshatra Shatabishak. But it is the most powerful Nakshatra for those who really want to change and transform, transform their lives in the most metaphysical and profound way. So many times they say when you have benefics conjunct this fixed star, it can bring great fortune and wealth. And of course, it is relative to doctors, healers of all kinds. And it is extremely metaphysical. I mean, this portion of the zodiac in Aquarius deals with metaphysics and healers and those that deal with mysticism, but mainly metaphysical in terms of beyond the physical, how can we heal? How can we make our lives better beyond the physical and the knowing of things beyond this world. That's what this star, as well as this Nakshatra is all about. So, so many, many times you're going to find that people are into astrology or astronomy with this beautiful.
Incredibly powerful fixed star, relative to their horoscope. So I hope you've learned a lot about the power and essence of what Famulot is all about from this. And if you would like to learn more about Vedic astrology, you can always go to my website, which is Galactic Center.org or if you want to learn Vedic astrology, I have the answer.
