Healing Powers of Gemstones

Hi, I'm Joni Petrie and welcome to my YouTube channel. Well, today I want to talk about gemstones. And this is a way that many Vedic astrologers get give remedial measures that help, as they say, propitiate some of the problems that may be in a chart. And many times they say that it can even bring out some of the karmas in a chart. So depending on if the planet is a benefic or malefic, there's two different schools of thought. One, that Vedic astrologers will predict the worst planets so people can deal with their karma, get it, bring it to the surface, deal with it, pretty much try and get it over with. Or to propitiate a planet that is a good planet but needs some help through wearing it. It will bring out what needs to be worked on, but in a positive light based on if the planet rules a good house. And the good houses to look for are always going to be the triconal houses which are 1, 5 and 9. So if a planet rules 1, 5 or 9, whatever gemstone it is for will be the best one for you to wear pretty much. So let me go over what gemstones are for, what planets and what they are here to do.

The sun is the ruby and of course the sun is our sense of power, it's our being, it's our spirit, it's our soul. So that is inspiration. The ruby will bring out our soul, essence, our spirit. But depending on what houses it rules, if it rules a difficult house, then the sun is blocked in some way. But there can be a healing by wearing that gemstone. But as a rule of thumb, I don't like to prescribe or suggest is a better word, suggest a gemstone that is the worst one because it's harder to work on ourselves when we're in a very difficult place. It's harder to meditate, it's harder to feel good about things. So I like to suggest the planet that rules the good houses and is placed well so that people can empower themselves through wearing gemstones. That's my belief in philosophy. So going back, the moon is the pearl and as you can see, I have on pearls. Yes, these are Vedic pearls. When I say Vedic, they're not heat treated or tampered with. They're the real thing that has the power that the planets have. When it's a real gemstone and it is not heat treated or destroyed with dyes or oils or heats or laser whatever, then they still have their power to heal. These gemstones are of The Earth. They have power of the Earth. Through the planets of our chart, we know wearing what gemstone will help what. So the pearl deals with emotions, feelings, the mind, consciousness. And depending on what houses, though these planets rule in your chart is really.

How you know what they will bring out. And I wear pearls many times when I speak because. Because the moon rules my second house. I have a Gemini Ascendant. So Gemini Cancer is on my second house, which is speech, which is wealth, prosperity, family. So I wear the pearls to able to bring out my speaking abilities. When I teach, I love to wear the strand of pearls to help me with my speech. So. So you see, there's different things depending on your chart.

The next gemstone to talk about is Mars. Mars is red coral, which I have on this finger. And from Chandra Lagna. Yes, you can take in from the moon. Mars rules my ninth house, which is spirituality and truth.

But red coral, in accordance to rulership of Mars, can give us strength, power, courage, ambition and drive and energy. So each gemstone has something to deliver for you, but it really is specific to your individual chart. And basically, red coral would probably not be prescribed for someone with a Gemini Ascendant because. Because Mars rules my 6th and 11th houses from my birth Ascendant. And that could bring obstacles, enemies and problems, because Mars is a difficult stone for Gemini Ascendant. But there's other reasons why it could be not a bad planet, which we won't go into for somebody's chart, mine included. So the next stone I want to talk about is Mercury. Mercury deals with communications.

How we communicate, sales, how we think, how we process information, giving us clarity of thought. It also represents traveling. So wearing a green emerald. And remember, I'm talking about the precious gemstones, not the semi precious gemstones, because the precious gemstones are the most powerful, powerful. So an emerald is for Mercury and will bring out the ability to communicate better, to make plans, to think. And maybe that writing contract for a new book, Mercury can open the doors to that. So therefore the emerald is for that. The next one I want to talk about is Venus. And Venus is the white stone, the diamond. And there's no coincidence that we give diamonds when we get married. Wedding rings have a diamond because Venus is the planet of love, romance, marriage. It's relative to the sign Libra, which rules the seventh house of marriage. So Venus can bring out love, relationship and marriage. But please make sure what house it rules according to your ascendant and how Venus is placed in your chart. So if Venus is conjunct, rahu, and it rules the eighth house. And not a good house, such as with Libra Ascendant, it rules the first, but it rules the eighth. It could still be okay because it does rule the first house. And many Vedic astrologers think to wear the gemstone that rules the ascendant. You can't go wrong because it empowers that individual. So Venus is love. Therefore the diamond, white diamond or even a white sapphire can empower Venus. So the next stone I want to talk about is Jupiter stone, which is a yellow sapphire. And a yellow sapphire will bring. That's probably the most sought after gemstone because it brings prosperity, wealth, expansion, growth, opportunities. This is Jupiter, but it is dependent on what houses Jupiter rules in your chart. So if you're a Taurus ascendant and Jupiter rules your eighth house and it's placed in a difficult house, you would not wear Jupiter sign planet, I'm sorry stone, because if you do, it's going to bring out those qualities which could be death inflicting problems. So you want to wear the yellow sapphire if Jupiter needs a little strengthening. But it rules the good houses. That's how I actually see it. So Saturn stone. Saturn stone is the blue sapphire. So for those that need a little help but their Saturn rules good houses, but they need the discipline and the focus to get things done. And they're a little scattered. Wearing the blue sapphire could really center someone to make them be more disciplined, focused, get the job done. And relative to the houses it rules and its placement, it can really bring out some positive great qualities in an individual. So looking at all of these gemstones can bring a definite change in your life if you use the right stone. And if you use a stone that is good quality in terms of retaining its powerful essence to heal. You know, there's a reason why all the kings and the queens wore gemstones. They knew the power of stones. They knew the power that these could enact. Therefore they had jewels and they had crowns made out of these gemstones. And remember that hope diamond. It seems like it's too much of a coincidence that everyone that came in contact with that hope diamond had tragedy in their life, severe tragedy. And that's the power that sometimes gemstones can can emit. And the other gemstones come come to the last part is the Rahu K2. The tiger's eye is for the K2 and also for Rahu.

And I wouldn't necessarily recommend wearing those because they are so intense. I mainly look at the planets and not the gemstones for Rahu or Ketu, because they can be way too intense and they can bring problems. So just looking at the planets in terms of their house rulerships and the gemstones that rule these planets, these are the ones that I would recommend. And yes, wearing gold or silver, does the gemstone have to touch your skin? Some say yes. I think just being in your auric field has an effect. And sometimes I like to tell my clients to try them out by holding them or sleep having them under their pillow. Make sure you know the next morning so you don't lose it, but realize if it gives you a good sense, a feel, you will know. And gemstones have been used over the centuries to heal and help people empower their strengths in their lives. So with that, I'd like to close.
