Isolated Moon: Mental disconnection and Insecurity

Astrologer Joni Patry explains how an isolated Moon in your natal chart signals emotional disconnection and lack of support, potentially leading to depression and anger. She breaks down specific lunar configurations like Moon with Rahu or Ketu, and describes how healing requires awareness of past family wounds.

Hi, I'm Joni Petrie and welcome to my YouTube channel. Today I'd like to go into my new series where I am discussing something, some very important, specific rules that I use in my practice that can help you better understand charts and astrology. So I want to talk about the moon today because relative to where the moon is placed in your chart will give you so much information. And always remember, when you first look at a chart, is the moon isolated? Is the moon by itself away from all the other planets? This is so important because if you see this right off the bat, you're gonna know immediately. And you'll find immediately you will know this is true. Because if you see the moon on one side of the chart and all the planets on the other side, it simply means that person feels disconnected, they feel unsupported and, and isolated. Because the moon needs to be with other planets. The moon has to feel a connection. Because the moon is our mind, it's our emotions, and it's our consciousness. And there's so many moon's yogas that constitute this disconnection with the moon. But when the moon is by itself, people are disconnected. Now another variable that can cause this to be even more intense is when you have Rahu or Ketu with the moon and it's away from other planets as well. This is more intense even. And if you'll notice the moon being all by itself or Rahu or Ketu being in a house before or after the moon, it's this still disconnection. So the nodes of the moon, Rahu or Ketu with the moon in, can cause all sorts of obsessional fears in an individual. So when it's close to the moon without other planets, there will be some obsessions or fears. And this is relative to what house it's in, it's relative to what sign it's in. But most of all, just look to where the moon is relative to the other planets. And vitally important. Now there's some other yogas with the moon. Remember the moon loves to be with other planets.
And if you have planets before or after the moon, remember I'm not talking about Rahu or Ketu, then this gives a sense of connection. So this is either a Sanifa or an Onifa yoga. And if you, and if you have Asanapha yoga, then that means that there's a planet second from the moon. Or if you have an Onifa yoga, that means you have a planet 12th from the moon. And it doesn't matter if it's malefic or benefic. The moon needs to have connections in this way be surrounded. And if you have both a planet behind the moon or in front of the moon, you have what's called a Duardra yoga. And it means it's totally surrounded by planets. So this is someone that feels connected, they feel supported, they feel protected. Their family gave them a lot of what they needed. Even though they could be malefics, it still gives a feeling of being with others connection. And of course, anytime you have Jupiter aspecting the moon by the fact that Jupiter is either in the same house with the moon oppose the moon, three houses or ten houses from the moon. In other words, if you have Jupiter in an angle from the moon, this is going to be called a Gaja Kasari yoga. And this gives power, this gives leadership. So you see when you find the moon is connected to other planets, it gives a sense of connection and it gives a sense of confidence. When the moon is by itself, there's a lack of confidence. There's a sense of feeling pretty much unwanted and unloved, unconnected. And when people don't feel a connection or love, there's all sorts of difficult behaviors that can evolve from that. So this is dealing with mental problems because you've got to feel connected and loved. Can people overcome the obstacles of a moon being isolated such as this? I believe yes. But it comes with awareness and it comes through work and through awareness recognizing what's going on. Probably the past, the family, the sense of not being wanted. When you come to terms and realize what it was, then it's healed. So it's sort of like just recognizing the truth instead of denying it. And this is what heals. This heals the mind, this heals the heart, this heals the soul. Because when we're talking about the emotional body, it is what really dictates how we feel about our world, our connections. And it also has an effect on our health. Because when we do not feel loved or connected, what's going to come out of that is a sense of depression, sadness, anger. Anger is actually depression is anger turned inward. All of these feelings are pushed down and they will be stored somewhere in the body and will eventually grow into problems, diseases of that part of the body. So it all stems from the emotional body. It all stems from the moon. The moon is this source that you have to recognize, look at, analyze clearly in a chart. Because remember the Vedic system is a lunar based system. Why.
The whole predictive technique of the dashas is based on where your natal moon is according to what Nakshatra, your natal moon is in predicts the whole cycles of your life. So just by understanding that this is a very lunar based system, the moon is imperative always point out look to the moon if you it isolated in a chart is it surrounded by Rahu and Ketu? This gives you massive amounts of information to help in guidance through understanding the astrological chart.
