Joni Patry presents a short Vedic-astrology forecast for the January 18 new moon. She notes the Sun and Moon conjoin in Uttara Ashadha (Uttara Ashata) nakshatra, says Jupiter is moving into the 6th house and Rahu sits in the 2nd house, and advises caution in speech, attention to health, and changing difficult habits during this period.

It's January 18th and this is the new moon. I love the new moon. It's like a big change comes about when we have these cyclic changes with the lunations. So this is a time of new beginnings, fresh starts. The sun and the Moon are together in the Nakshatra called Uttara Ashata. Uttara Ashada is the Nakshatra of fact, finding, honesty, truthfulness, honor. But all these planets all together is actually way too much energy. So things aren't perfect. And let me just say this. With the moon where it's gone now, Jupiter goes to the sixth house, which can be a struggle, which can be a fight, which can deal with enemies to a certain degree. Rahu is in the second house. Be careful what you say. And it's a good idea to take care of your health, change habits, because Jupiter in the 6 can make you change some of the habits that have been the hardest to change for you.
