Learn the Secrets of the Nakshatras: Shatabhisha, the Hundred Healers

A YouTube monologue by astrologer Joni Patry describing the 24th nakshatra Shatabhisha (Shatabishak), its placement entirely within Aquarius (6°40'–20°00' Aquarius), symbols (empty circle/‘thousand flowers’/cloud), ruling deity Varuna, and associations with healing professions, hard-to-cure/mental illnesses (addiction, alcoholism, bipolar), metaphysical interests, and technological/electric affinities. The speaker links personality traits (intelligence, aloofness, inner emptiness, spirituality, sky-watching interest) to the nakshatra and notes both strengths (healing impulse, scientific curiosity) and vulnerabilities (depression, detachment).

Hi, I'm Joni Petrie and welcome to my YouTube channel. Today I'd like to talk about the 24th nakshatra, Shatabishak, which extends from 6 degrees, 40 minutes to, to 20 minutes of Aquarius. So it is completely contained within the sign of Aquarius. Now its symbol is an empty circle or it sometimes is called the Thousand Flowers or stars. So it's in the constellation of Aquarius. And when you look at this constellation, it looks like a cloud because there's so many stars in it. And therefore that represents humanity, the many people. So many people that represents the whole of humanity. So this Nakshatra is in the group of. They're very faint, so they look very much like a cloud. And this is in the. What's called the water bearer because this is the sign Aquarius. And of course the water, the sign Aquarius. You would think it's a water sign, but it's not. It's actually an air sign. But I believe that the water comes from the fact that the deity that rules this Nakshatra is Varuna. And Varuna is the God of the cosmic waters. And it deals with many times, professions where people do work with water. In particular, famulat is the fixed star that is within this Nakshatra. And famulat does denote musical abilities, which I find many famous people, musicians have the star potent, such as people like George Harrison or many of the rock stars. But this particular Nakshatra deals so much with healing because it is called the Hundred Healers. And many people with this star prominent are in professions where they're doctors or healers. And many times it deals with professions where people help people. And it does denote hard to heal diseases.
And when I think of diseases that are really hard to heal, I think of matters dealing with the mind, such as mental disease. So many times this Nakshatra has some connotations to working with others that have mental problems. And one of the variables that come under this Nakshatra is alcoholism. This is a disease related to a mental condition that is totally misunderstood. And many times people with this Nakshatra prominent have to deal with, with other people that have addictions. So addictions are a very hard to heal disease that's relevant to the mind.
But this Nakshatra actually has indications to alcohol. It can indicate alcohol. And many times people may even work in a profession dealing with alcohol or that they deal with people that have these issues. They may have family members that have addictions as well as, you know, a father, a brother, a husband. So it's not necessarily them, but they will have some. Some work to do with people that have problems. And they could be something like bipolar, but something to do with very hard to heal diseases. And generally that can deal with the mental problems.
So when we talk about this Nakshatra, we are talking about people that are very talented, but people that are very scientific and very intelligent. And this is sometimes called the Veiling Star, which means it's concerned with the human condition. Healing healers have this, shamans, anything like this. And this Nakshatra is very much connected to astrology. It is sometimes called the Sky Watcher. It's called the Star of the Hundred Healers, which is relevant in the healing arts as well as the Sky Watcher. And I find people with this Nakshatra prominent to either be fascinated with the heavens and the stars at a very early age. So it might be that they're a child that wants a telescope that's always wondering and wanting to know what's beyond this world, what's in the heavens, what are the stars? So they're sky watchers, and they can deal with astronomy or astrology because this is a part of who they are. Now, the symbol sometimes is a circle, an empty void. So this can deal with the fact that many times they feel empty inside. And this is what gives them the quest for learning. Many times they get into metaphysical studies and learning because they really want to understand what's beyond this void, this emptiness. Where are we? Why do we not feel connected? It's a deepness and spirituality to this Nakshatra. But they also have an inner vision. They know things, they see things, and it's not explainable in the physical realm. Therefore, they're very metaphysical, which means. Metaphysical simply means beyond this world. So they are always looking for answers beyond this world. They think way outside of space and time, and they are very meditative, spiritual, philosophical, always wondering and asking questions. But they can be very moody at times, and they can be cold and detached. This is a part of the indicators of the sign of Aquarius. And at times, if they don't really address some of their issues, they can be depressed a lot.
So above all else, if they have these symptoms of depression, of being moody, this always prompts them to look deeper into find the cause and the reason which takes them beyond that. And this is their spiritual reference. Interestingly enough, that this.
Nakshatra can also deal with diseases that are hard to cure. So they may have a disease or a problem that seems to be hard to cure or to find the culprit of what's even wrong. But they also have a connection to electricity. And so those with this Nakshatra can be involved with technological things such as computers, technology, electricity, how things work. They are very intelligent and will search and find answers to this. But most of all, I feel like they're always searching and seeking. And they're very profound, intelligent, deep. But they can feel disconnected to others. And because they're so intelligent, they feel like they know more than everyone else. So they can cut be a bit aloof and be a bit know it all, but they won't argue because they feel like they because they feel like they know it all. They won't even contend or argue. Why argue with people that are ignorant? Because they feel they are all knowing. So they have a little bit of arrogance about their intelligence. They're not argumentative, they're just arrogant at times. But overall, this is a Nakshatra that really and truly cares about humanity and healing. And yes, it's not an easy Nakshatra.
It does have its difficulty because remember, this Nakshatra is ruled by Rahu. So this Nakshatra is intense and it's deeply intellectual because air signs are that, but can be a bit detached, but have the heart to really help and heal humanity. So with that, I'd like to close.
