Hi, I'm Joni Petrie and welcome to my YouTube channel. Today I'm going to be talking about the 27 nakshatras. And beginning with the first nakshatra of the zodiac, which, which is Ashwini. Ashwini extends from 0 degrees of Aries to 13 degrees, 20 minutes of Aries. So it is the first 13 degrees 20 minutes of Aries. And what I'm going to be talking about in this series is first of all, the symbol. The next thing I want to talk about is the deity and the mythology that surrounds the deity of each Nakshatra, the, the stars. Because relative to each Nakshatra is a fixed star. That really imbues the meaning of what this asterism, as they're called, are all about. So the Nakshatras are sometimes called the lunar mansions, because 13 degrees, 20 minutes, that's the relative time that it takes for the moon in a day. The moon stays in a Nakshatra per day and that is the rate of speed of the moon to be in a Nakshatra. So they're lunar mansions as well as they are called the asterisms, the Nakshatras. Nakshatra actually means that which never decays.
So getting back to this specific Nakshatra, Ashwini, its symbol is a horse's head. And let me explain why the symbol is a horse's head. Because the deity deals with the Ashwini Kumaras. And this is the horse headed twins, the Ashwini Kumaras. And they are referred to as the physicians to the gods. And so many times what you will find that this Nakshatra can deal with medical miracles, doctors, healers, as well as people that are into equestrian, that are horse lovers or have horses or actually have a profession dealing with horses, because it is the head's horse is the symbol.
So the myth goes that Sanjia, she was the goddess who disguised herself as a horse. And she fled from her husband because of his betrayal. But he finally tracked her down. And their offspring that they had were the Ashwini Kumarans, which are the horse headed twins.
So with that these horse headed twins, they are assumed to be the bringers of the dawn.
And it's like this chariot that that's symbolic of them going full force speed across the horizon that brought each day the bringers of the dawn. So it's very much that these, that this Nakshatra pertains to travel. And it's almost like in Greek mythology, Apollo, but they deal specifically with the carriage and transit travel, but fast travel so when you think about the sign Aries, I always think of fast and the first, the pioneers, the ones who do things without thinking. Well, this is all relative to what this Nakshatra is all about. Ashwini. Because when we look at Ashwini, the fixed star that is relevant and in this Nakshatra is called El Sheridan. And this particular star deals with qualities of someone who is blazing and first and you know, like the ram. It's because actually this star is the horn of the ram in Aries. So it deals with people that can be outspoken, they don't think before they talk, but can even have something to do with violence because this is relative to this particular star. It is a violet star. But it deals like with issues of Aries being fast furious, impulsive, impatient people that have this fixed star tend to move fast, or should I say this whole Nakshatra. These people can't slow down. They have to go at top speed. Probably really bothers them when other people walk slow because they got to keep going, going, going, going. Fast furious transit. And relative to when we look at the stars for predictions in the world, you can find that when planets are in this Nakshatra, they can deal with issues around transportation. Because that's what this fixed star and this Nakshatra are all about. Movement and travel and travel at top rate speeds.
So because this is called the star of transportation, in other words, transportation.
People that have planets in this Nakshatra are known to be travelers, explorers. They are always moving about, looking for new adventures, new things and new ideas. Entrepreneurs have this Nakshatra strong, but they're always looking for something new. They're the first to explore and do things. All those explorers which don't ask me how they had the guts to come over to the United States, I mean Columbus, they didn't know the Earth was round yet. They might fall off the edge.
But regardless, they had to have some planets in this Nakshatra to be able to be the pioneers, pioneers and explore the world as they did. So this Nakshatra is speedy. It deals with people that have to go at top rate speed. Therefore, if you got this Nakshatra strong, probably you've had a lot of speeding tickets because you can't slow down. Another thing about this is that there's fast ideas. The mind just is thinking fast furious. So this is another aspect of this, of this Nakshatra. And people with this Nakshatra are known to be trailblazers. They initiate things. They're headstrong, but can be known to be Stubborn. Remember the ram and all of the things I'm describing now can really be depicted in the definition that we have for the sign of Aries. Pioneers, the people who start new projects, they jump into things without thinking. In other words, they're the ones that would dive into the pool before they figure out there's even water in it. So they're not afraid. They're just very courageous. But, you know, there's this quality of childishness with this Nakshatra, because it is the first, first Nakshatra, first sign of the Zodiac. Therefore, it deals with new beginnings and the birth and children. And children. Many times babies, they cry when they want something. Therefore, when they cry, when they want something, they're not concerned. Or does it even consider be a consideration to them that they've inconvenienced you. Just that's what they want. They go after it. They ask, they cry. They want, they usually receive. Because guess what? The squeaky wheel gets the oil. You hear the noise and the crying, you want it to stop. So their noise, they get what they want. And they can be the babies of the zodiac because of this. So.
So remember this, that they can be impulsive, impatient, but they are the pioneers, and they're the reason why things are explored and developed. Because they're not afraid. They're courageous. That's some of the qualities that you will find reminiscent for this incredibly powerful, interesting Nakshatra. Ashwini.
