Omens: Listening to Signs from Spirit

Hi, I'm Joni Petrie, and welcome to my YouTube channel. Well, today I'd like to talk about something that is so important to me, and it is omens. What are omens? How do you use them? What is it all about? And I believe that if you pay attention to the omens that are prevalent and going on, you will be divinely connected and you will know what you need to know. There's answers going on everywhere. The universe, the divine is speaking to you all the time, if you'll pay attention.

So let me explain what omens are. They're signs, and many people are in tune with it. They look at birds, they look at things in nature. Insects. You know, some people look at fireflies, butterflies, as a message that's being brought to them from the spirit world. The American Indians, they were so in tune with the earth and the omens and the signs. And of course, in Vedic astrology, I use omens even in a reading. You see, in India, where they do readings, it's very busy places, and they look to the signs to give answers as well while they're doing their readings. So if they're in the middle of a reading and a bird chirps, that could be a message. If they're in the middle of a reading and something falls, makes a loud noise, that could tell them the answer is no. Or if there is thunder or rain. I use this all the time. If I hear thunder, it sometimes is saying, pay attention. That was a very important message that you're giving at this point in time and very, very relevant. And sometimes thunder, a loud noise, can say no. If somebody asks you, will I get divorced, and all of a sudden the thunder strikes out, it could be the answer is yes, something's ending. Sometimes when there's a loud noise, such as a lawnmower starting up, that could be a message saying, no, the answer's no. And I find that when the phone rings, that's saying, pay attention. Whatever you're saying is correct, it rings true. So those are the ways that I use some of the sounds, omens, and connections while I'm even doing a reading. But at the same time.

Omens can give you so much information. For example, one morning, I walked out in the front yard and I looked over in my neighbor's yard, had about a hundred black crows that had landed in his front yard. Come to find out later that week, found out he had cancer. So that was an omen trying to tell me something. Many times I get omens through the radio, through songs Very specific messages or driving and seeing a billboard. It can tell you exactly what to do, what you're concerned about, or questioning, and pay attention when things are odd and out of place in your house. It could be trying to tell you something.

You know, I'm going to tell you some. And even another thing here, I'll give you some of my examples. For example, one time, somebody was wanting me to invest in something and they. And they wanted me to go to this website to read more about it. Which I went to the website and I glanced at it and I saw the word fraud.

So I kind of like shook my head and started looking, you know, deeper and started looking for that word fraud. It was nowhere to be seen.

But I can't tell you I specifically saw the word fraud. But I read the material over and over, and there was nothing that I saw the word fraud. I listened, though, to that omen. Turned out it was fraud. I would have lost all of my money. So I am so glad I listened to what the universe was projecting and telling me through that omen.

One of the most profound omens I've ever had in my life was.

Back in the late 90s, my dear friend Lynn. She passed away about 1998, but I will never forget there was a time when she wouldn't speak to me, and I didn't know why. I thought she was mad at me. She lived in Austin, and anytime I would go to Austin.

We would always get together and we were the closest of friends. And all of a sudden I would come down to Austin and she'd say she was busy or she didn't feel good. And I thought, what's wrong? You know, she wouldn't tell me, so I thought she was mad at me. So I stayed my distance. And one day in my bathroom, where I get ready all the time, on the counter there was a picture of her. I didn't put it there. Thought, who in the world would dig through my old box of pictures and place that there? And surprisingly enough, I had cut out a picture of another friend who had died suddenly. It was actually a suicide.

Right before that. And I had the. And she was this newspaper article on her. It was a beautiful picture of her. So I cut it out and I had it displayed on my counter. And next to that appears a picture out of nowhere of my best friend Lynn.

And I looked at that, thought, why is that there next to my other girlfriend's obituary? And of course, I did think, well, maybe she's going to be in an accident or something bad could happen to her. Maybe I should call her. And it was very clear. The voice said, call her. And I almost picked up the phone. I said, you know, the last time I talked to her, she was very curt and she did not want to spe to me. So I thought, I'll wait for her to call me. So three years, three days later, her sister called and said that Lynn just passed away. And I was devastated.

And I knew that omen, that something, a spirit or something put that picture there, trying to tell me to call her. And I denied that message, which I wish I hadn't. But that's an omen. The spirit, the world is communicating. It is working. It's doing things to tell us something very important.

I wish I would have listened to that omen. But I will say this. She communicated to me for years through thoughts, through messages, even songs. It was the most amazing thing. She used to tell me what the other side was like. It was very amazing and to the point. One time, we used to jog together all the time when we lived together in Austin. And we'd always run town lake. And to this day, I'm still a runner. But.

I used to. Right after she passed, I used to listen to headphones where radio stations would come on and play songs, and she would communicate to me through the songs. And then one day I thought, you know what? You're crazy. You're making all this up. It's not really her communicating to you. You're out of your mind. Stop making this up. And so I said at that point, Sid Lynn, if this is really you communicating with me.

Make the song Closing Time come on right now. That was the song I associated with her death because it was popular by Semisonic at the time. And when they closed her casket, she had an open casket at her funeral. When they closed the casket, I thought of closing time. So I asked, I said, make that song come on the radio right now. And I'm not even kidding you. It started right then. And I said, I am so sorry. I will never deny the power of spirit and the power of omens that are speaking to us all the time. Wake up. Be aware. There is a divine force always out there communicating with. With you. One more omen I'll leave you with. It's a very sad one for me, though, is my s.

Went into a coma at one point. And.

Right before she went in, right after she went into that coma, I had pictures of her in my closet. That one evening when I was sleeping, those pictures were knocked to the floor. Plus a suitcase was knocked to the floor.

And I knew it was her and I knew that was an omen that she would pass what she did. So pay attention. So much information is being given to us if we will open our hearts, our minds, our souls to be in communication with spirit at all times.
