Saturn and Your Karma

Joni Patry explains how Saturn in your birth chart shows the karmic lessons you're working through this lifetime. Saturn brings hardship but also discipline and structure, and its placement in each house reveals specific themes: responsibility, childhood struggles, relationship patterns, or spiritual healing.

Hi, I'm Joni Petrie, and welcome to my YouTube channel. Well, today I want to talk about karma. And what is karma? Karma is simply past deeds that. Well, really, it's cause and effect. So what you've done before, that energy will come back to you. So what you put out there comes back. The law of nature is cause and effect, and that's karma. So what you do, it will come back to you. And Saturn is the planet that is known to have so much to do with our karmas in this lifetime. I mean, most everyone that knows just a little bit of astrology fears and doesn't like Saturn because, you know, when you go through a Saturn cycle, it's tough. Saturn is the taskmaster. Saturn teaches us our hardest lessons. Therefore, it's our karma. So before I get into all the details about looking at Saturn and how it reveals your karma, let me remind everyone to sign up for my free newsletter on my website. To get my predictions, go to Galactic Center.org and while you're there, check out my beautiful spiritual jewelry of malas and prayer beads. It's on Galacticenter.org. okay, so let's get going and talk about the karmas that Saturn can mean for you. Saturn is the planet that is slow. It's the furthest out. It's the slowest moving planet furthest out that's visible to the naked eye. And it deals with hardships. It rules old age. It's slow, methodical. It does give longevity for how long a person lives, depending on how your Saturn looks in a chart, because Saturn rules old age. And Saturn is the planet that will stop us in our tracks, because it causes endings, even death. Saturn is the difficult planet that causes setbacks, delays, problems, obstacles. I mean, who likes Saturn when you hear all that? But there's another side to Saturn. There's always a positive and a negative. And Saturn's positive is it gives structure, gives discipline, gives focus, gives a sense of responsibility. People with the strong Saturn are mega, ultra responsible people. And without saturation, Saturn, we wouldn't get anything done. It would be just one big party where everybody's a mess and all over the place. Nobody would have the discipline, the focus, the structure, the order. That's what Saturn gives us. So Saturn is essential in our lives. You have to have this focus and discipline in order to be prosperous in this world. And interestingly enough, Saturn does rule the sign of Capricorn, which is the tenth sign relative to the tenth house in astrology. So therefore, it deals with our purpose, our career.
What we're supposed to be doing in life in terms of our social standing and who we are, our sense of purpose, our dharma. That's Saturn. And also it's Saturn because we use the old rulerships. We use Saturn as rulership of Aquarius, not Uranus. So even though we know many Aquarians are unconventional and out there, much like the quality of Uranus, there's a side to Aquarians that nobody talks about.
I find Aquarius, that sign, to be the most stubborn sign of the zodiac. And I'll tell you why it's not so obvious. Because they don't talk about it. They, they simply know they're right. They're so stubborn that they are right that they're not going to lower themselves to even discuss it because they know they're right. So guess what? When you're always right, guess what? You don't learn very much. So I find that the quality of Aquarius has that edge ruled by Saturn because of that stubborn quality. It is a fixed sense sign. But still, all in all, getting back to the karmas that Saturn deals with, Saturn is.
An old soul. So let me go through the different houses. If you have Saturn in the first house, that means you're an old soul. You're mega, ultra responsible. You came into this life lifetime with a sense of purpose and you feel like you got to take care of everyone. That's that heavy, responsible Saturn. And remember, the signs that Saturn's in will give it this quality, a different quality. And particularly there's two particular signs to pay attention to, and that is Libra and Aries. Because Saturn in either of these signs will be more intense in many, many ways. If you have it in Libra, you lucked out. And remember, Saturn takes about 28 to 30 years to go through the whole zodiac of 12 signs. So there's only groupings of people every 28 to 30 years that have it in that sign. So it's pretty rare when you take it across all the signs. It can be in to be in Libra.
But Saturn in Libra is its exaltation sign. Therefore, the Saturn qualities are the strongest. A sense of responsibility, a purpose of pride. But here's another thing also, if it's retrograde, it will have a different quality. We won't get into all of that. But the retrogrades change it up and delay it sometimes. But Saturn being in Libra makes Saturn so strong. And you will emit and have all of the good qualities of Saturn. Now, if you have Saturn in Aries, this is debilitation it's weak in that sign. Therefore it's going to have some issues and some problems. But I find that when a planet is debilitated because of the problems that it gives you, it becomes your focus.
And you overcome it. You have to. It is something that's thrown in your face constantly. And Saturn and Aries can be somewhat self absorbed, whereas Libra, they're more considerate of others. You see this. But of course this is a very strong generality and it's not always the case. But what I find is people really see where the weakness is and they overcome it. Therefore they overcompensate and it becomes like an exalted planet many times when it's in Aries. That's why I say either one of those signs. Saturn will be a mega super focus in your life. But going back to Saturn being through the different houses, the first house will make somebody ultra mega responsible. Always feeling like they're responsible for others.
Now Saturn's in the second house. Then childhood experiences were quite difficult. There was a lot of struggles going on in the household. And consequently from that the feelings that the person derived from those childhood experiences made them feel unworthy. And therefore they have issues and problems with making money. And that's something they're here to overcome. Remember when you're looking at a horoscope or a chart, these are the issues and the karmas, everything in the chart for from the past lifetimes and the early lifetime of this life. And we are here to overcome it by understanding it, how it's placed in the chart. So as Saturn's in the third house, there may be some problems to overcome in learning something to do with problems in school early on. But the person will become focused to overcome that and maybe overcompensate and work really hard in school. Plus there will be a distance between a sibling. Maybe it's age, maybe it's interest, or maybe there are no siblings or they move away. But there's something about a detachment to a sibling. Now Saturn's in the fourth house. This is the mega ultra responsible mother that can be doting and over compensating with you. Or it can be a mother that's completely detached and not there, not able to really.
Care because of some issue or problem maybe that they have in their life. Saturn is responsibility. Maybe your mother was very strict. Now if Saturn's in the fifth house, you will have depending on the sign too. You, you will. Sometimes it delays children to a bit older, but it doesn't prevent you from having Children. I know many people with Saturn in the fifth house and they have children usually what it can mean very responsible children and that there's a karmic issue and connection around children. Or maybe you won't if you don't have children. There's something about the mind that is very focused and highly intelligent. When Saturn's in the fifth house, if Saturn's in the sixth house, there is so much about work and being responsible. You would never dream of being late to work or not being overly responsible at work. And probably you can make your co workers mad because you work harder than them and you show them up. So there's going to be like some distance between co workers. But another thing is health and healing is of vital importance and a focus. Maybe you love these this subject or maybe you're forced to find answers because there is some problem with the health. Now Saturn's in the seventh house, you would think, oh no, that's a bad situation. No, it means a very karmic situation in a relationship. And actually Saturn gets directional strength called digbala being in the seventh house. Therefore it makes you want to find somebody where the relationship will last. Lasting relationships. Saturn is strongest, gets directional strength in the seventh house. And partnerships, well, many times you may stay in partnerships way longer than you should have. So you're always trying to fix it and make it work, which is a good thing. Saturn in the 7th, Saturn in the 8th house. This gives you longevity. The 8th house, actually Saturn in the 3rd and in the 8th will give for a long life generally depending on many other variables. But this is one of the key issues because the third in the eighth house deal with length of life and Saturn in these houses gives length of life. So you better take care of yourself because there's nothing worse than living a long life unhealthy.
And if you're healthy, longevity is a great thing. Saturn also being in the eighth house gives you depth, gives you interest in metaphysics, but it somehow blocks your psychic ability open to that. It's there.
If Saturn's in the ninth house, you may find you have difficulties with the father or the father is very strict or maybe depending on the sign he could be very successful. But generally Saturn can cause some obstacles between the relationship with the dad. But being in the ninth house, I find people with Saturn in the ninth, they are so cynical about religion because they've seen the way people preach and not follow their what they say. In other words, they don't do what they say. And that makes you cynical and it makes You a non believer in many of the religions, but because of that you find a different truth, a spiritual truth. Now, Saturn being in your 10th house, you're ultra mega responsible with your career and your work. This is actually a great thing. Saturn loves to be in the 10th house. It's the natural ruler of the 10th house. So it gets strength in this house and it gives opportunities for work. Many times you work really well with other people. Oftentimes you don't find the courage to go out and work for yourself because you like sharing and working for others. But you can be mega super successful and depending on other planets there you will be a focal point and a leader in your workplace and you have a high esteem. People respect you with Saturn in the 10th. Now Saturn in the 11th, you may not find you have very many friends because you don't like to waste your time on frivolous, superficial relationships. But you have a few very good friends and you like those people from the past, from the past that know and you can trust. You have to have trusting relationships with Saturn in the 11th house.
Now, as Saturn's in your 12th house, this is a lifetime that you came here to really heal all the issues from the past, to have the responsibility to have the discipline and the focus to really look into matters that have caused all of your emotional upsets and let them go and heal them. This is a very spiritual placement. It's not easy though because it can cause problems with children. Being the eighth from the fifth can cause problems with children and separation with children. But this is part of the karmas that you've come here to heal. With Saturn being in the 12th house, it's all about healing and healing your past. So this is just one of the very interesting ways that you can see your karma in a chart by analyzing and looking at the sign Saturn's in. Well as particularly the houses Saturn's in. Because remember the houses are our area of life, of.
What is important to us in this lifetime. The planets and houses activate those houses and those fields of activity and what is important to you in this lifetime. So with that I'd like to close.
