Hi, I'm Joni Petrie and welcome to my YouTube channel. Well, today I'm going to be talking more on secrets of the houses and some of the specifics that you'll be able to glean from looking at a chart once you really, really understand how each house gives its meaning relative to how they're placed from one another. So this is really about numerology and getting to the depths of, well, what I call my book the Divine Order of the Universe. I wrote this book, the Divine Order of the Universe, many years ago. It's my third book and I still feel like it's my best book because it takes into account each house from each house and how that gives each house its in depth meaning. Now, just talking about the eighth house, the house that we're digging into today, it. It's mainly referred to as the house of death. And of course it scares people to death. But there's so much more richness to this house because it is a Moksha house and it's actually called a Destana. Destana houses are the houses that cause suffering. They're the most difficult. And the Destana houses are 6, 8, and 12. The eighth house is definitely one of the scariest ones in my estimation. But it is so profound. First of all, the eighth house has to deal with major transformations. Death is just one of those changes and transformations that we go through. But what I've really come to terms with is the eighth house deals with issues around control. Having to feel like you're in control and having to control things. But the facts are this, we can never control anything. And there is a lot of the frustration that comes from the meanings and information this house gives. So it deals with these major transformations, where we die, then we're reborn. This is not necessarily of the body, but these are the things we go to. And what I feel like is once you really surrender.
To.
What you're holding on, to what you're trying to be in control of, that's when the transformation happens. So what this house is really about is control, manipulation, but letting go and surrendering. And that's where the transition happens. So this is a house that deals with psychology. Yes, psychoanalysis, getting to the core and bottom of what makes us do what we do, this can cause a transformational change. It's also the house of research, when you can get to the bottom of why something is the way it is. And many times this research takes into account the thinking and going beyond this world, because that's one of the reasons why the eighth house is one of the most misunderstood houses of all. Because it really does deal with the energy beyond this world, which why? Psychics, mediums, people with psychic abilities. This is part of the eighth house. It's something beyond this world, not of the physical manifestation of this world. And it deals with metaphysical knowledge, it deals with metaphysics. The eighth house is why something's the way it is. And it definitely has its connotations to sexuality. Because this is the house that can deal with deep dark stuff in addictions. It is also a house that deals specifically.
With these powers that control us emotionally. Therefore, it is sensuality, sexuality and addictions. But let me just say this. It can deal with charisma and magnetism. People that have powerful planets in this house are extremely magnetic, very powerful people. And they attract energy wherever they go. They have charisma. Major movie stars such as Marilyn Monroe, Farrad Fawcett that light up a room when they walk into it. You have charisma. It's not just that they're beautiful, they have this power of attraction. Now another thing is this is this house has been determined as the length of life, how long we live planets in this house. The ruler of this house will give a definition of the length of life. It's not not just death, it's how long we live. And whereas the sixth house can deal with acute illnesses, the eighth house deals with chronic illnesses, the ones you'll never get over. And it also rules elimination, such as the colon, that type of elimination. But it is also the house of murder suicide, ways that we leave the world.
Just in a more abrupt and definitely bad way. But on the positive side, this house can deal with major transformational positive changes and the metaphysical sciences. But it also deals with inheritance. So it deals with money that we share with other people. But here's where the house to house happens. Remember, any house that is second to one house is going to be where you either receive money or gains from the previous house. So in other words, since the second house deals with money, then the second to any house will give money from the previous house. So what am I talking about? The eighth house is the second house from the seventh, meaning your spouse's money. This will determine whether your husband, your spouse is good with money, whether he'll be rich, whether he'll be a spendthrift by planets. In the eighth house, let's say you have Jupiter Rahu moon in the eighth house. Chances are.
Let'S say it's in Cancer, exalted Jupiter with the moon Rahu in The eighth house, your husband will be very rich. You'll marry a very wealthy man. That's the meaning that you can get that specific to the eighth house that you may not know. It's your husband's money and finances. Now, it is also.
What you're going to find with this one. It is the fourth from the fifth.
And many times within the fifth house is our children. So the fourth house.
Meaning from the fifth, will mean that we have blessings from our children. Now, normally when you think about planets being in the eighth house, especially if it's the ruler of the fifth in the eighth house, you'll think of endings or death of children. That's not true. You won't find that to be the case. For the most part, yes, it can be difficult, but it would usually mean happiness from children. The eighth house can bring that. So talking about the houses being.
Relative to the second, what about the twelfth? The twelfth to any house will mean it's the losses from that house. So when you look at the eighth house, it is the 12th house from the ninth house.
So the ninth house, well, it can be our spirituality and our truth, so it can be the loss of that. And that can come through many of the variables that the eighth house can mean, which is disgrace and humiliation, loss of our truth by the ninth house, meaning the truth in the eighth house being 12th. From that, loss of our truth and humiliation. Because the eighth house does deal many times with humiliation. Of course, through humiliation we come to humility, which cancels out so much karma. Because remember, the eighth house is a Moksha house, which means spiritual liberation from this world. And the moksha houses are 4, 8, and 12. They give us this opportunity to transcend this world through spiritual understanding on the deepest core level.
So one more thing. If it is the 12th from the 9th, and the 9th house deals with the Father, it can be the loss or the death of the Father. Planets in the 8th house also, it could be disgrace through the Father, since losses from the Father and being in the in the eighth house. But that many times you will find malefic planets transiting through the eighth house. You know, someone may pass away.
But usually it's the Father because it is the 12th from the 9th house. In Vedic astrology, we look at the 9th house as the father, not the 10th. So I think you have a better understanding by what this house can mean and basically why it's positioned 2nd from the 7th or 12th from the 9th, how specific this house can be. But don't ever forget that this is the house of major transformations and can give us spiritual liberation from this world. It gives knowledge beyond this world because the Moksha Houses are this special knowledge. And it can give the most profound psychic intuitive ability of all when you have powerful planets in the eighth house. So don't forget if you want to learn more about the houses.
