Vedic astrologer Joni Patry reads the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse as a year-long world chart. For the U.S., she sees Mars and Saturn in the 8th house signaling major governmental change or loss of leaders, while Jupiter and Uranus in the 10th suggest sudden shifts in power.

Hi, I'm Joni Petrie and welcome to my YouTube channel. Well, today I want to talk about something that you're going to hear me talking about a lot. And it's the upcoming eclipse that happens April 8th of 2024. This is a very powerful solar eclipse. It is a total solar eclipse. And as you've been hearing me talk, it's going to go right across the United States, starting in Texas, all the way across. And this solar eclipse, very important because in Vedic astrology, we look at the new moon, which a solar eclipse is a new moon that is in Pisces, as an indication for what will be happening that entire year. It's almost like the solar return chart for the world and of course, different countries. It's set up where the solar eclipse happens at the same time, simultaneously around the world. It's just that it's a different time, a different location in different places. So what we actually do is we look at the longitude and latitude of putting in the city for the time the eclipse occurs. And that tells the story for that country or that city, that location. It's really, really a powerful technique. This is called the Vedic New Year chart. And it's always when you have a new moon in Pisces, this happens only one time a year. And sometimes it happens in the month of March and sometimes it happens in the month of April.
But rarely does it happen. But every 18 and a half years where there is an eclipse on that day. And that means this is going to be a very intense year. Now, when I pulled up, I wanted you to see this chart. So I'm pulling up this chart for you to look at. Because.
What I put in now, I've done this in my classes with all my students. I go over all the different locations around the world that we're curious about because all these planets, the way you see them in this chart will be exactly the same degrees because the solar eclipse happens at the same time around the world. But it's a different time around the world. So in other words, all these planets will, depending on where you sit in the world, will, will be the same, but they'll be in different houses because the ascendant will be different. That's the big difference. So I pulled this up for the United States and the city that I keyed in is Washington D.C. and what I think is so relevant here. And as you can see with this eclipse we have the, the sun and the Moon exactly conjunct in Pisces. And of course it is right there next to Rahu. What's interesting as well.
Venus is there exalted. This is a very intense eclipse and so much is going on. But what I think really is telling sincerely is where Mars and Saturn sit in this chart because for the United States it will be in the eighth house. And this is actually the worst house of all. So you're going to find that this is the house that deals with radical shifts and changes and most of all endings. But it is the house of death and it is also the house of corruption. But if you could just sum it all up, this is the house of big radical changes. So this Mars and Saturn for this chart, actually Mars rules the 10th House because it rules Aries and it goes to the eighth house with Saturn meaning an ending in the government. A big change is due within this time frame. And actually, let me explain something as well. So this chart is good for an entire year till the next new moon in Pisces. So this is from April of 2024 through April of 2025. And this means the government, everything is going to turn over a huge big change. And yes, it's going to be very difficult. The eighth house is extremely difficult. So Saturn in this chart is the ruler of the eighth house in the eighth house sitting right next to Mars as the ruler of the 10th house, which deals with the government. And this can be within this time period some type of loss of government leaders.
This is what this is about.
And then another thing is with the sun moon conjunction in Pisces at 25 degrees, this is nearing the end of the zodiac. The they're in the last Nakshatra revity. Of course this, this Pisces New Moon will usually be and this always in the sign. But in this Nakshatra Revati, which is the last Nakshatra. So things are coming to an end. That's basically what I'm seeing. And it's in the ninth house now the ninth House deals with laws, regulations. It deals with how things are fair and just. It deals with the legal system. And there is so much that's up for grabs and big changes that are happening here with the legal system at hand. Now another thing that's quite nice though, I've got to say this, is that Mercury, Jupiter and the Jupiter Uranus conjunction are in the 10th house, which is another indication of major, major changes in government, but surprising ones because Jupiter and Uranus are sudden, unexpected changes. That's what it means. And I always say it's a great awakening. So there's going to be a great awakening and a radical shift in change now with Mercury being there. Mercury is also an important planet, especially when we look at the Ascendant here, which of course we can use the Ascendant because this is the time that this eclipse is, is exact. And.
The Mercury there. Mercury does rule the 12th house. So there's a big influence with, with the United States in accordance to foreign lands and countries, because that's what the 12th House Rules also secret enemies that are infiltrating somehow in the 10th house, which is the leading area of government. But something unexpected and unplanned, needless to say, is about to transform the the United States based only on this New Moon Pisces chart that reflects what's going on around the world. Now I think that this chart looks, it looks actually quite positive on the outside by looking at all the regulations, laws that need to change are going to be be implemented and will change by this ninth house.
But.
The Mercury in the 12th, there's going to be changes due to foreign countries and possible secret enemies. Jupiter in this chart is actually the ruler of the 9th in the 10th, which can mean blessings and good. Changes may look chaotic and it may look difficult, but eventually there's a blessing in disguise here for what's going on in the world. But my major concern with this chart is the Mars and Saturn conjunction in the eighth House, meaning big endings, overthrowing of government. And changes are due to happen and leadership will change. And I hope it's not violent, I hope it's easy, but it is going to happen. Violent or easy or not. Radical, radical changes are due here by just looking at this solar eclipse. And by the way, anytime we do have solar eclipses, this is always the most turbulent time. Weeks before and weeks after an eclipse, you'll find Earth changes, you'll find disruption, you'll find people acting crazy. So this is a time to look out. And the solar eclipse, the eclipse path goes directly over Texas so we're going to actually be having an eclipse party here in Dallas. I don't know what that entails but a lot of people are coming together here. It'll be interesting. That's the least I can say and meaningful most of all. So with that I think I'll close. I wanted to give you a little update of what's coming coming and I will keep you updated as we get closer to this eclipse. And of course after the eclipse we have the Jupiter uranus conjunction on the 20th of April which means a great big awakening. We need an awakening. That's all I got to say.
