The 7 Chakras: Our internal Solar System

Joni Patry maps the seven chakras to planets in Vedic astrology: Saturn rules the root chakra of fear, Jupiter the sacral chakra of fertility, Mars the solar plexus of anger, Venus the heart of love, Mercury the throat of communication, the Sun the third eye of vision, and the Moon the crown of emotion. Healing comes from integrating feeling and thinking through the heart.

Hi, I'm Joni Petrie, and welcome to my YouTube channel. Well, today I want to talk about astrology and the chakras and how we have our own solar system within our bodies. You see chakra, actually it means spinning wheel. So these are the centers in our body that are spinning, the energy centers, and they are relative to the glandular functions in the body. We have a throat chakra, which is representative of the thyroid. We have the pineal gland, which is representative of the crown in the head chakra. So, so there is even hormones. All the hormones are really determined by these energy centers. So what you're going to find is with these energy centers, they are relative to the planets. And it's so interesting because the planets, their colors, the rainbow, everything is relative to the our solar system and space. And this is how we are connected to the planets through our own solar system or energy center that relates to our chakras. So when we talk about our solar system being within our bodies, what I'm going to tell you right now is really relative to Vedic astrology, how this works in terms of these energy centers. Now, there is some differences in the way that it's viewed in terms of some of these energy centers being relative to different colors and the signs. But let me just give you the basic solar system that I know works. And when you know there's a dysfunction in one of the chakras, which is relative to the energy center, which is the, the glandular function in the body, you'll find that that planet within your Vedic birth chart is placed dysfunctionally, or it's debilitated, or it's aspected by malefic planets, or if it's a good energy center that functions well, you'll see that it's situated quite well in your birth chart. So this really does help you understand medical astrology and the body. But just to be very basic in its understanding, and this is extremely helpful, realize that your solar system that's set up in your body relative to your chakras and glands starts from the root chakra, which is from the slowest moving planet in our solar system that is visible to the naked eye. I'm not including the outer planets. So the planet that's slowest in our solar system that we can see is Saturn. So Saturn sets up the root chakra that deals with the fundamental essence of our instincts, our instinctual nature that can be activated by fears or survival. That's the root chakra, and that is ruled by Saturn. And Saturn is pretty much a part of this fundamental root chakra which deals with the fear and our reactions to things that cause us to have pretty much an instinct as a human being. So if you look at our own solar system and what planet is the next slowest from Saturn moving in towards Earth, it will be Jupiter. So Jupiter is the next chakra which deals with the reproductive system. So, so it's the reproductive system. And realize that Jupiter is the planet that rules children, reproduction.
Fertility. That is Jupiter and that is the next chakra which deals with reproduction. Now when we go to the next chakra, follow along from Jupe, from Saturn, Jupiter, and then Mars. So Mars is that gut chakra that deals with that sense of when someone hurts you, you feel punched in the stomach. That's called the solar plexus. You know, when people punch in the solar plexus, you get what the wind knocked out of you. That's Mars. Mars deals with anger, hostility, emotion, feeling, passion. And that's what comes out of this chakra energy system, which is called the solar plexus. Now when we move up, the next chakra will be where the heart lies. So this is the heart function and this is the next planet. If you'll follow up. Now, many people may think it's the sun because the sun does rule the heart and it does have a lot to do with the emotion of love and connection. But we're talking about this system from our solar system. And the next planet after Mars, closest to Earth is Venus. And Venus is the Karaka or planet of what relationships and love. And that's what the heart energy is all about, love. So that's Venus. Now moving up one more to the throat chakra. What is the next planet in alignment after Venus to the Earth, which is would be Mercury. Mercury is the next closest or the next fastest, I guess I might say really it deals with the relative speed, how fast this planet moves. And Mercury is next. And Mercury deals with what communications. And that's what the throat chakra is all about, communications, how we relate to people, how we speak. And if you have a dysfunctional Mercury, then that means that the chakra, the throat chakra, is the chakra that is not working.
And needs to be addressed. So when you think of these chakras as being wheels of energy, spinning wheels, then that means that some of its energy and how it spins is not that powerful. So but you can see it in the chart and you know that that throat chakra is not, is what needs to be developed more and worked on. If Mercury is debilitated or has issues in the chart. This is Mercury. Now, next we come to the third eye, which, what is the next planet? And what gives us vision, what gives us life? The sun. That's relative to the third eye. That's right here, that the third eye and probably the crown chakra, but particularly the third eye will deal with what our pineal gland, which is the gland that we look to for vision, for spirituality, for truth. And that's where the sun comes in. And the sun and the moon pretty much work together on the upper level chakras because they deal with vision. They deal with how we perceive our world physically and symbolically. So this is the third eye and then the crown chakra, which will deal with what? The moon. So the sun. The moon. And this connects us to our feelings, our emotions, the cosmos. And this is our solar system within our body. And what's fascinating is the, the lower chakras, where we're talking about Jupiter, where we're talking about Saturn, where we're talking about Mars, these are the chakras that deal most with what? Feeling. So these are the emotions. So actually, no, these are the emotional body that directs our life. The Jupiter, Saturn, Mars. Because remember I talked about the, the solar plexus being, you know, kicked in with the feeling, emotion. So that's the emotional body, the lower chakras. But when you get into the thought, the perception, the seeing, the thinking, you're going to come into the upper chakras, which are what? Mercury, sun and Moon. But going to the middle chakra, which is where the heart is, Venus. Here is something that I feel is important to remember and understand from this dissertation that when we bring the emotion together with the thought processes, our thinking, emotion and thinking, what, what do we come together and meet with?
The sun, the heart chakra, which deals with what? Love. So when we bring together emotion and thinking, we come together with the heart energy that deals with what Feeling. And you have to admit, everything that we do here in this world is dictated by how we feel about it. So the music we like, the people we like, our taste in everything is really relative to how it makes you feel. And most of all, the thing that I feel that we're all coming together with here on planet Earth, through our physical bodies, through our physical solar system, is the energy of the healing, of healing the emotion and the thoughts together through what? Feeling, which is what? Love. So the heart energy, the heart chakra must be really merged with all the other energy centers in our body to produce the healing, that healing, the emotion and love brings to this world. So. So with that, I hope you have a better understanding of how we have our own solar system, from Saturn up to the slowest moving planet to the fasting moving planet, the moon, and how these energy centers are related through our Vedic charts. It is very simple, but very meaningful and very true. So. So with that, I'd like to close.
