The Mystical Number 3 Contains the Secrets of the Universe

This is a YouTube talk by Joni Patry exploring the recurring significance of the number three across religions, psychology, and especially astrology. She links triads (Trinity, ego/shadow/self, three gunas, three signs per element) to larger numeric patterns (3, 6, 9, 12), explains Vedic concepts like nakshatra groupings and bhavap/bavam (repetitive house relationships), and argues the number three underlies symbolic structures (pyramids, trines, houses).

Hi, I'm Joni Petrie and welcome to my YouTube channel. Well, today I want to talk about the powerful number, mystical number number three. This number has so much relevance throughout our world and particularly in astrology. It is the root cause number of 9 and 12. Because what we find in astrology, these numbers are repeated over and over again. But as to going to all the variables of this mystical number in our lives, let me point out that three is the mystical number of the pyramids. The pyramids are three sided and said to have so much power. The ancient Egyptians built these structures because of the power that it creates with the three sides. Now another interesting number three is called the Trinity. In Christianity there is the Trinity of God which is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost. And this trinity in my opinion, deals with God the body, God the spirit and God the mind. So you could say that in the Holy Trinity, God the Father is pretty much the mind, God the Holy Ghost is the Spirit.
And the God that represents humanity. God the Father, God the Son is human, which is man, which has been referred to as Jesus, an old Christian in the text in Christianity. So the Trinity is a very important part of that. Now in Western psychology we have the ego, the shadow and the self.
And did you know there's three levels of consciousness? There is consciousness, subconsciousness and super consciousness. These are all levels of awareness and consciousness. Now another thing that I think is really interesting is the fact that there are three gunas. In Vedic astrology.
The 27 nakshatras are divided into three different groupings. So they're groupings of nine nakshatras. So three sets of nine are relative to the Gunas which we have the Rajas, the Tamas and the Sattva. Now Sattva is the goodness, virtue, purity, while Raja's is the passion, the material world, attachments. Whereas Thomas is ignorance and darkness. So these are the three gunas and each nine portions of the Nakshatras are relative to these three gunas. So getting to astrology, where there is so many references to the number three, it's astounding. Remember this, there are three qualities which the qualities in astrology are cardinal figures, fixed and mutable. And then on top of that there are four elements, fire, earth, air and water. But there are three signs that are fire, there are three signs that are earth, there are three signs that are air and three that are water. And this also equates to the four aims of life. So what are the four aims of life? They are relative to the elements. So there is the element of.
The elements relate to the four aims of life. So there's four elements, four aims of life. And the way that that works is Dharma.
Equates to the fire signs we have Artha that equates to the earth signs. And we have Kamma, which relates to the air signs. And we have Moksha, that relates to the water signs. So we have three signs per each. And of course, three times four equals 12. So the fire signs we have with which equate to Dharma is Aries, Sagittarius, and Leo. The four earth signs are going to be Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn. The kamma signs, which relate to the air signs, are going to be the air signs, which are Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius. And the moksha signs, which there are three moksha signs, which are relative to the water signs, which are Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces. So you can see how there are these three groupings. Now, here's another interesting fact.
About.
These elements. Since there are three fire signs, realize that those three fire signs, whether it's Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius, they're all in a trine to each other. So there's three of them, and they create a trine 120 degrees, which creates a triangle in the chart. When you look at the elements that trine each other, all the earth signs trine each other, the air, the water, and the fire. So there's another example of the number three being so valuable and so important to understand, especially through astrology. So now I want to talk about something in Vedic astrology that we call bavap. Bavam. Bavapavam is the repetitive value of these numbers. So when you repeat from one house, three houses away from each one, you're going to find that these numbers begin to repeat. And as I go through the third from the third, the fourth from the fourth, the fifth from the fifth, the sixth from the sixth, the seventh from the seventh, and the eighth from the eighth. What you're going to find is you're always going to arrive through three placements from each other as you do this repetitive exercise. And they say in Vedic astrology that when you repeat these numbers, the house that you arrive with has the same qualities, such as the third from the third is the fifth house. Remember, you always start in the house as one. So if you're counting from the third house, third from the third, that means third, fourth, fifth, you arrive at the fifth. So the third from the third is the five. House and the fourth from the fourth. And let me go back, the third house is about creativity, and the fifth house is about creativity on a bigger level. The fourth from the fourth, you arrive at the seventh. So fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh. And the fourth house is the mother. The seventh house is the grandmother. The fifth from the fifth, you arrive at the ninth house and the ninth house. The fifth house is your children, while the ninth house is your grandchildren. So you can see how there's a similar meaning, that when you duplicate these numbers, you, you arrive at a house that has another meaning that's relative to the house. Before that, you duplicated the number, the numerical value. So this is all the power of numbers. But with each one of these jumps from house to house, when you duplicate, you're going to find that it always goes three placements away. I find that to be at absolutely astounding. And I have to bring my favorite book. I've written this a long time ago. Astrology, the divine order of the universe. In this book, I go over all of the repetitive values in numbers, particularly beginning with the power of number three and ending with the completion and the power of the number 12. Remember that the numbers that we're dealing with that are so powerful start with 3, 3, 6, 9. And of course, the completion number is 12. And you can see so many references throughout history dealing with 12. There are 12 levels of consciousness. There are 12 dimensions. There are no, not consciousness. There's 12 dimensions. That's what I meant. And not only that there are 12 signs. There are 12 personalities to the signs. And really, when you think about the number 12, you can also talk about in religious context so many places, it is like, well, you got to admit, so many religions, there's 12 apostles, but there's 12 houses in the zodiac. And as you can see, when we talk about the Baba Bavam and the number 3 and how it all relates 3, 6, 9, and 12. This is the power of numbers through astrology. And one more last thing I have to say in reference to the number three, things happen in threes. You know that when there's a plane crash, usually there's three. There's something else around the world, maybe some are bigger than others, but things happen in threes. And one very last thing in baseball.
Remember this? Three strikes and you're out. So. So I just wanted to put into reference how powerful numbers are. And really the power of numbers, it is all in the universe. Math is everything that makes up the vibrational frequencies, even in sound and music. All of these tones, all of these vibrations, they're measured in numbers. That's the power of numbers. And this, the core essence, the root core essence of astrology. It all works in perfect divine order. So with that, I'd like to close.
