This Can Change Your Life!

A recorded group conversation (YouTube) led by Joni Patry featuring graduates, tutors, and students of the University of Vedic Astrology describing how the program changed their lives. Participants (Madeline, Zaino, Sarah, Emily, Jack G) recount starting as beginners or early graduates, praise the semester/module structure, recorded classes, lifetime access, tutor support and an active Telegram community. The video includes program-specific details: semester one start date January 25, 2023, and an in-person conference scheduled June 2–5 (year implied 2023). It highlights international participation (students across continents) and career outcomes (graduates teaching, offering readings, and combining Vedic astrology with other modalities).

Well, hello everyone. I wanted you to come together to meet some of my graduates and students from the University of Vedica Straight. We have a new start date that's about to occur. It's going to be January 25th. And this is for semester one, where everyone comes together from around the world to learn Vedic astrology. So I wanted you to meet some of our graduate students. It's amazing. We actually have students from every continent around the world now. And this is so much fun because this is our community. So I wanted to introduce everyone. I think, Madeline, you can start because you are here in Texas. You're in, where are you?
I am in Bernie, Texas.
Yes.
Which is right by San Antonio. So pretty close to you.
Yes, I'm in Dallas. So we'll start with you, Madeline, and just tell us a little bit about what your feelings are about the university, but most of all what you got out of it, what you can share with other people to help them understand, you know, what their experience will be.
Well, first of all, for me, astrology was a brand new frontier. I had never practiced it before. I didn't know anything about houses or planets. I just read the horoscope in the newspaper or the numerology stuff and I love that. And I'm, I was a stay at home mom, I retired from corporate America, I'm an author. So I, and I took care of my parents, wife and mother. So I didn't have a lot of time. And this initially was an interest and a hobby and I started watching YouTube and I found you. And when I'd heard Western astrology versus Vedic astrology, I was shocked at the difference in the predictiveness of Vedic astrology. So then you started promoting your university and I thought, wow, I wonder if I'm smart enough to do this or gosh, I wonder if I have the time to do this. I wanted to do it and I pulled the trigger. I joined your university and I'm now a graduate of your university. And what made it so amazing for me was the structure. Because even though you can go at your own pace, I really like the fact that the course was laid out by semesters with modules and you have this amazing workbook which is like my bible. As you can see, it's all tabbed and marked up and this was kind of my step by step guide because remember I was a beginner, I had no previous experience. And now, surprisingly and happily, I practice Vedic astrology very well and I love it. And I also teach at your university, which has been a really Big bonus for me because I get to work with new students and kind of help them learn the step by step learning process of how to retain and use the knowledge that you've taught us. Yeah.
Thank you. Thank you. That is amazing that you never studied it before and now you're able to practice it. That's really an accomplishment. Thank you. Now, yeah, I want to go to Zano because Zano is one of the graduates that's been a graduate for the longest, I believe. I believe you were, like, in one of the first, very first classes. How long ago was that, Zaino?
I think about seven years.
Wow. Yes. So Zaino is in Istanbul, Turkey, one of my favorite places in the world. I visit there as often as I can because it's just so lovely, beautiful. Love the people. But I want to introduce Zaino. Zaino, tell us about your experience with the university and a little bit about yourself.
Okay, thank you. Joni. Yeah. I think we actually met in Istanbul. And like Madeline, I'd never studied astrology. I had my charts done both in Western and Vedic ways, I think, with you. And I was amazed at the accuracy and, and the deepness of it. And I really wanted to study. And it's almost like, you know, you just came into my life when I wanted to really learn about astrology. And, and I agree with everything Madeline said. For me, because of the time difference, the going at my own pace and having the classes recorded, but at the same time having whenever I could, the live classes, being able to interact with the tutors and the simplicity. One thing that really worked for me was that you didn't try to impress us with big words or making it complicated, but really gave us what we need to do at the basic level. I mean, it's not basic basic, it's very complex. But you really taught us what we need. To have a good reading without confusing the client or without confusing ourselves. And. And so I'm now, yes, a graduate and I'm also helping other students and I. It's just so satisfying and so wonderful when, you know, seeing somebody start at semester one and then saying, oh, I don't know, can I make it until semester five? And by the time they're at the second semester, they've learned so much, they can't believe how much they learned and then they're so excited to continue. And yes, you. I mean, out of, out of nowhere, you. You made an astrologer out of me, which is fantastic. I also have a center here called the Karmic Healing and Development center. And I combine that work, looking at people's charts and then seeing their life pattern, their, their karma and some of the transits and then helping them make sense of it and figure out how, how to best use the transits. Because not all transits are easy. Not all of them are easy to comprehend. If you just say Jupiter is here and Saturn is there, okay, you know, you impress the client, but it doesn't necessarily help them. You also gave us the, the insight and the spiritual aspect and how can we help our clients the best way. So, so thank you and intending to continue as long as possible with the university. I'm so happy it's growing. Yes, it's becoming more and more international and it's just wonderful to be part of it.
Thank you, Zaino. I'm so glad you're part of it. I remember when you did your final test, you were so amazing. You impressed me so much. Your knowledge and your wisdom and how you conduct readings. You're natural. So the next person I want to go to is Sarah, because Sarah's in Portugal. I just wanted everyone to see how if you come on and you're in a different country, you can connect and have a tutor that's in your country. So Sarah, tell us your experience and what you're all about.
Yeah. Hello everyone. Thanks, Joni. So I'm from Portugal and actually I was. My interest in astrology came. Yeah, in 2018, 19. But it was only in 2020, in the beginning when I had a reading with, with you, Johnny, that I really was so amazed and I, I decided, yeah, I have to study this. And of course I started to, of course I bought your book, all your books and start to, to reading them. But it's when I, I.
I discovered your university. I found the best way to start because there is so much information out there. And I found that the university gives you the structure to really integrate the knowledge step by step. And as Zaino and Madeleine already told, so even if we don't have any knowledge about astrology, so as was in my case as well. So you are perfectly able to understand everything with the tutors. So Emily's here was my wonderful tutor. And I'm also very happy to have the opportunity of helping other students on their paths. And one of the advantages of the university is also that we have lifetime access to all the classes, to all the webinars that are continuously being recorded. So we, we are always learning. So it's just, the university is just the start of, of our paths as an as Vedic astrologers And it's perfectly possible to make it your own, your job. It's difficult to call it a job because it's also a passion. It's not possible to do it as a hobby for me because it requires so much study and so much research. And I also, so I, I also combine my work with Ayurveda, astrology and Ayurveda together. So that's one of my focus, one of the areas where I, where I like to, to research and to understand more and more. Yeah. Thank you very much.
Thank you, Sarah. And I have to say, your final exam blew us away too. When. Because the last and final exam is where you give a reading. And I remember you nailed something because you didn't know that the CL reading for was my son and emailed some.
I realized much later.
Yeah, I was like, are you kidding? That was amazing. So thank you. And yes, let's go to your tutor, Emily. Emily is a favorite tutor. She, she is one of the most dedicated people we have at the university. She works so hard and helps so many people. Emily, tell everyone where you're from and what you're all about and what your experience was with uva.
Yeah.
Oh, thank you, Joanie. Well, I, I can't remember when I first had a reading with you, but I was hooked from minute one. And I signed up with a brand new January semester one class and I just went all the way through with it for an entire year, all five semesters. And then, then I got to study with you in semester six. And one of the things I love that you've done with the university is you've completely expanded your semester six. You know, not only are you going through charts and learning that way, but we have three readings that we do with the, the tutors do with the students now. So you're actually learning. Okay, I've learned all this stuff. What do I do with it? How do I actually get through a reading from start to finish? I think I was one of the last people who graduated without that. So.
I definitely.
I have a place.
In my heart for all the students now that they get to, to learn all that stuff.
Also, what I love is that you keep everything very simple, just like Zano said. So I sometimes I laugh in readings when someone asks a question and it's just literally right there. Plug and chug. Like one of those semester three homeworks. Here it is. Here's the answer in the dashes. Here's where this is transiting. You just make all of that information accessible. We can help people that way just because it's so simple and it really makes a difference in their lives. So I love doing readings, I love helping the students. Sarah was my first actual student who went through from start to finish, so. And then I think at one point I might have doubled your tutors because I. I was so fortunate. I had so many people who just had such a passion as students for astrology, which then helped me as well, just in being a better astrologer. So I love the university that it's. You're always growing and doing new things with it. So I'm really happy to. To be a part of it and have all the opportunity.
Yeah.
And we're even going to be putting on a conference June 2nd through the 5th, and you're going to be there to present something as one of the graduates with the university as well, which I'm very proud. Now, you're. You're living in Nashville right now. Tennessee, right?
Yep, I'm in Nashville.
I love that place. It's beautiful. I love Tennessee. It's such a pretty state. So. So thank you. Now, Jack, tell us your experience with uva. You've been around for a while. Tell us where you're at, what you're doing in your life and where you are.
Hi. Hi, Joni. Yes. So I am. I work as Jack G in Good Vibrations out of Mountain View, California, at the largest metaphysical bookstore in the country. It's the East West Bookstore. And I am so blessed serve this community. It's so amazing. I work as a Destiny shaman, so I show people exactly, kind of what their sole purpose is in life. And I use different modalities. I use the Destiny cards to show people basically what their actual root vibration is, as well as Vedic astrology, because there's always confluence between the two systems. And that's what I love. It makes predictions so much easier. And, yeah, it's been such an incredibly useful tool to really get to the root of what's going on with any particular individual. I also heal with or work with individuals with light and sound therapies. I use solfeggio tones, crystal singing bowls, and firefly light therapy, which is intense LED 33,000 milliwatt light to actually change the environment of the cell, the cells, to make a change for the better. The body is amazing. Our bodies are amazing. We can actually heal ourselves, and we just have to change the environment to really make that happen. So, yeah, the best thing I love about your Vedic Astrology University is the community. It's. It's just. It's an amazing online experience and I've never had such an amazing support network. If you have a question or if you, you're struggling with an, with an issue or a client, you can pop into the, the chat in, in telegram and everyone is so helpful and sharing their that just pouring their heart out and that's for me is what's been the most amazing part of this journey is everyone that you have brought together. I mean, there's going to be some amazing things that happen. I can tell with all of your students. It's very exciting times.
Yeah, I agree, the times are changing.
Everyone here is so interesting. But one thing that we all have in common is our love for astrology. But most of all that I know, all of us really love having this purpose to really help people. That's the whole, I think in a nutshell, what the astrology is all about. We're here to help people grow to be the best they can be and to find purpose and meaning in their life. That's why I got into astrology. And as you learn, learn all these tools and techniques with Vedic astrology, you really, really can change someone's life. I mean, how many of you have had somebody come to you and say, you've changed my life? I mean, that is to me the most empowering thing I can hear because that's what I got into this for. So if any of you out there are thinking about joining the university, remember this. It's a lifelong unity of people. It never ends. So every time we start over, any of the semesters, if you have joined them before, paid for them before, you get to join in on them forever. Because we just keep growing and people coming together. And as Jack said, we have telegram now where all of you can connect at any time just to ask questions or share things. I mean, Madeline was telling me just the other day, everybody was talking about a chart, who's in the news, what's going on? And you're constantly learning. It's not just we have the record 40, 40 recorded videos where you take a test and you work with your tutor on all of that. You have a live tutor. And as you become a tutorial, you're going to continue to grow and learn because teaching is where we really, really learn. And another thing is we have a platform where, where all of the graduates can start having their own classes and become.
A teacher of Vedic astrology. And when we have our conferences, we all get together in person and I empower all of you, all of you, all of you graduate students to, to have your own school, your own classes, your own thing. I want to empower everyone to be the teacher, the astrologer, and that's what I hope that the university will bring to everyone. So is there any last comments anyone wants to add to anything that I just mentioned?
I'd like to add to that. One of the things that was fun for me and very helpful to me was the access to you, Joanie. So although I would meet with lots of the students in Telegram or, you know, privately via WhatsApp or text, we would have questions after we try to put into practice what you taught us. And then, you know, we'd all get together. We're like, well, that's a Joanie question. We can't find it.
We don't know.
We got to ask Joni. And then it would be like, okay, who's going to ask Joni in the next class? Because you get a little nervous, right? But you have been so amazing in your accessibility and willingness and openness to just allow us to jump in with questions and have back and forth discussions with you. Live in class every week, depending on the semester, because we'll do semester one one week, semester two the next week, depending when you enrolled or where you want to jump in. I go to all of them and I just love the access that you have given to all of us. You're so generous with your knowledge, you're so generous with your explanations, and you, you love it so much. It comes through in the way that you give it back to us so that students like myself can process the information and then go, oh, click. And then apply it to the next charts that come along. And that's how I've been able to learn, is your. Your generosity of teaching.
Thank you, Madeline. I have to say this, though, it is so much fun for me to teach and to get together with all of you. You're like my family. So I just love what I'm doing and I know all of you do too. And I want to really extend great gratitude for everything that all have done to help the university and to grow in your areas all around the world. This is just. This is just a family and a community. And if there's anything I can do to help anyone, I'm here. And, yeah, I think that's pretty much covers what we wanted to say today. Right, everyone? Are you. Are you in agreement? Okay. All right, so thank you, everyone, for joining us, and I hope to see you at the start of semester one, January 25, 2023. I can't believe the university's been going, what, for about seven, seven years? Zaina was. Was here when we began, so we continue to grow, and it's been, what a wonderful, beautiful life journey this is. So thank you, everyone. Namaste. Thank you.
Namaste.
Namaste.
