A short instructional video by Jonny Miller about recognizing and responding to emotional dysregulation. The speaker describes two primary reactive protection modes—anger/aggression and collapse/withdrawal—urges listeners to identify their default response and bodily early-warning signs, and recommends nervous-system mastery and breathwork to return to intentional action.

There are so many times in life where we might get triggered, we might be overwhelmed, we might be procrastinating, and that kind of takes us towards the reactivity side of the spectrum. And there's actually two modes of reactivity, two protection strategies. We all tend to move one way or the other. Generally, people will go towards anger, frustration, aggression, and the other is more like collapsing, shut down, withdrawing, and just becoming numb. Firstly, think which what is your default reactivity tendency? What does that feel like in the body once you notice the early warning sign? For me, it might be, oh, I'm noticing this heat in my chest. I think I'm going to get angry. I'm going to take a moment for myself and just step away. And the set of practices that I teach with nervous system mastery and breath work bring us back into that intentionality side.
