This content was created by Jordan Raynor. This content was uploaded by Jordan Raynor. This is a podcast promo titled "I just launched a new podcast with Mark Batterson!" (created 2021-12-01). In the excerpt Jordan Raynor announces and promotes a new limited-series podcast called "Redeem the Day," which he co-hosts with Mark Batterson. Jordan (the primary speaker here) outlines the show format (seven short ~20–30 minute episodes), key topics (daily quiet times, deliberate silence, C.S. Lewis' writing productivity, Sabbath practices, managing email/texts, saying no, distinguishing life-giving busyness from soul-sucking hurry), availability (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, redeemthedaypodcast.com), that it is ad-free, and that it’s being shared as a gift to listeners of his prior podcast "Call to Mastery." The tone is promotional/announcatory and timed for the Christmas/New Year season.

I'm super excited to announce I've teamed up with my friend Mark Batterson to release my second podcast. Certainly not the last, but my second one. We're calling it Redeem the Day. It's a limited series and all seven episodes are available right now wherever you listen to your podcast, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, wherever you can also listen at redeem the day podcast.com and I wanted you guys, the loyal listeners of my first podcast, the Call to Mastery, to be the first to know the good news. So before I tell you more about what to expect from this new show, I want to introduce my co host for this new podcast, Mark Batterson, who I think needs no introduction, but just to be safe, I'm going to introduce him anyways. Mark is the lead pastor of National Community Church in Washington, dc. You probably know him as the author of some mammoth best selling books like the Circle Maker, Chase the Lion and In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day. And hey, he's a former guest here on the Call to mastery, episode 75, which I know you guys loved at the very end of 2020. And actually it was that episode that's the origin of this new Redeem the Day podcast. So last year, end of 2020, I had Mark on to talk about his book, Win the Day. And when we stopped recording, I was like, hey, I'm publishing a book with the exact same publisher on a largely similar topic, this book called Redeeming youg Time, as you guys know. And Mark was like, we should do something together complimentary with these books. And so here we are, Redeem the Day. This new podcast is our solution to that. And of course, the title of this new podcast is an amalgamation of Mark's book, which Win the Day in my own book, Redeeming youg Time. So what can you expect from the seven episodes of the Redeem the Day podcast? Mark and I have taken some of the best content from our books, especially the areas where we have a lot of overlap and we've just done a deep dive on a few of those topics. So in these seven episodes, very short episodes, about 20 or 30 minutes apiece, you're gonna learn a few things. For example, what exactly Mark's and my quiet times look like every day. How to deliberately practice silence so that you can think and be creative and listen to God's voice. We share this great story about how C.S. lewis was able to write his top eight books in just six years. We talk about how to be at peace with ignoring emails and text messages for a few hours at a time what Sabbath looks like for us. We talk through practical questions to get better at saying no to requests for time, and how to tell the difference between life giving busyness and soul sucking. Hurry. Those are just a few of the things Mark and I are talking about in our new podcast, Redeem the Day. Available now wherever you listen to your podcast. So go listen. There's no ads, it's just great free content and we're just giving it to you guys as a gift. So go listen now. Search Redeem the Day wherever you're listening to this podcast episode right now. I'm just praying that this is a blessing to you guys guys, this Christmas season and as we prepare for the New Year. God bless you.
