You guys have heard me allude to it a few times on the podcast over the last few months, but today I'm so excited to officially announce that my next book is coming this fall. It's called Redeeming youg Time. Seven Biblical Principles for Being Purposeful, Present, and Wildly Productive. I think that's what we all want. Guys, you got to check out the COVID of the book. Penguin Random House did a terrific job. If you want to see it, just go search Redeeming youg Time right now on Amazon, Target, Barnes and Noble, wherever you buy books. It's pretty much everywhere right now. So. All right, what's this book all about? Well, in case you haven't noticed by listening to the Call to Mastery, I care deeply. I care a lot about time management. About as Paul says in Ephesians 5, 15, 17, redeeming my time. Why? Because the days are evil. Because we are all running out of time not to be too morbid to do the work that the Father has created us to do. It's why I love asking guests on the podcast about their habits and their routines. I want to get better. I want us all to get better at this topic, at time management, so that we can do more exceptional work, more good works for the glory of God in the good of others. So here's the gist in the book. In Redeeming youg Time, I'm going to break down seven timeless time management principles from the life of Christ, the most productive person who has ever lived. And then I'm going to map those principles to really hyper practical modern day practices that you can adopt right now to be purposeful, present and productive. Just like Jesus right now. I know some of you are thinking right now, time management principles from the life of Christ. I've never seen this in the Gospels, but I would argue, yes, absolutely we do. I think too often I've talked a little bit about this on the podcast before. We take for granted that the Word became flesh. As John 1:14 says, right? Jesus was fully God and fully man. Which means that by studying how Jesus lived his life on earth, by studying the way of the way, if you will, we can know how the author of time, God himself would have stewarded his time, would have managed his time if he were a human being, because he became a human being now. No, the Gospels do not show Jesus walking around with a to do list. They don't show him with a calendar or a smartwatch, but they do show him having to prioritize where he spent his time. Check out Mark chapter one, the Gospel biography showed Jesus dealing with distractions at work. Check out Matthew 12:46 50. They show him fighting for silence. See Matthew 14. They show Jesus trying to be busy without being hurried. Check out mark 1111. So in other words, the Gospels show Jesus facing a lot of the same challenges that you and I face right now, today in 2021, as we seek to best steward our time. And because Jesus was infallible God, we can assume that he manages time perfectly, providing us with this ideal model, this ideal way to follow. Right? So I'll give you an example from the book. One of the seven principles in the book is called Descent from the Kingdom of Noise. You've heard me starting to use that phrase on the podcast already, right? And this principle is really drawn from the fact that when you look at the Gospels, Jesus spent a staggering amount of time in quiet solitude. Right? Right after he was baptized, Jesus spent 40 days alone in the wilderness. So I'm gonna present that principle, this principle, descent for the King of the Noise. And then I'm going to give you in that chapter, nine modern practices that you can adopt to help you redeem your time to this end. Right? So a couple of them from this chapter are, let your friends curate the news for you, Stop swimming in infinity pools of content, and put the quiet back in quiet time. So that's just a taste of what's coming with this book. According to the readers of the first draft, this is the best book I've ever written. I'm biased, I agree with that. But listen to the early readers. The data is in. We're starting to get more feedback from advanced readers of the book and people love it. So if you want to be more purposeful, present and productive, if you want to redeem your time in the model of your redeemer, if you want a time management book that is theologically rich and uber practical, this is the book for you. Redeeming youg Time is the book for you. So guys, the book won't be out until October 19, 2021, but you can pre order your copy right now on Amazon at Target, Barnes and Noble, wherever books are sold. And we got links to all of those great retailers@jordanraynor.com just the homepage right there. Jo r d a n r a y n o r.com I cannot wait to get this book in yalls hands. Take care of.
