Our next guest is recognized as one of the world's leading trainers, transforming lives of millions, including Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie, and Khloe Kardashian. He's got a brand new book out today called The Cruise Control Diet, and he's here to show us how we can eat our guilty pleasure foods without the guilt. Please welcome Jorge Cruise.
Jorge, that's so much fun.
Thank you for being here, man.
It is possible to have our guilty pleasure foods without the guilt?
It is, it is. I'm a big believer in intermittent fasting, and that's what the whole book's about, where you traditionally You normally don't eat for 16 hours and you eat in an 8-hour window, but the problem with intermittent fasting is you get hungry, right?
Yeah.
And you know, I work with a lot of celebrities and they don't want to feel that hunger, so I've created Cruise Control Fasting, which is in the new book Cruise Control, out today, guys. And what it does—
Out today.
It helps you— it helps you— here's the best part though. It helps you cheat the fast so you can actually enjoy things that are usually not that good for a fast, they would break the fast, and cheat the fast with healthy fats so you never feel hungry, and that way you can lose belly fat, and that's what intermittent fasting does.
So that's the secret, you're fueling it with some healthy fats.
Healthy fats, that doesn't break a fast. Sugar and proteins do, so during that 16-hour fasting window, that's traditionally what intermittent fasting does, it's hard, you feel hungry. So this will help you do that without hunger.
Well, you said you get hungry, and I heard the audience go, mm-hmm. Apparently they've thought about it. So we wanna do a little thing. The hardest part about dieting is giving up that guilty pleasure.
Yep.
I mean, for all of us. So we have our guests here who have a little guilty pleasure there. And they're gonna share that with us. Yeah. But you're gonna have two alternatives.
Yeah, we have one.
One alternative is what you can have in place of it that's just as good and tasty but healthy. And the other is what you can do to work out to work off the calories if you can't give up.
Well, you know, exercise is important too, and the book covers exercises. So I have some moves we're gonna show the ladies, and they'll get to pick what they want. So you guys ready? Let's check it out.
Okay. And we have Jennifer. How you doing, Jennifer?
Hi! This looks good. I know. This is her guilty pleasure. What is your guilty pleasure?
Tell them. Oh my gosh, I cannot start my day without a latte. I must have a latte. I'm a mom of 2, super busy. Yeah, lattes are my jam. Okay, now what's the swap?
So the swap, guys, check this out. It's a coconut cream latte. It's basically 8 ounces of coffee with unsweetened coconut milk. It has coconut oil, butter. I love butter. A lot of my clients like Brooke Burke and Malibu use butter. And it has erythritol, which is a natural sweetener. Super delicious. You whip it up and then you get this delicious option which you can drink while you're fasting in the morning, and it'll hold you full for up to 3 hours.
It's really good.
I can really have this? You won't feel hungry.
Is it good? Yeah.
Man, this is off the chain. This is good. I mean, I would share it with somebody out there, but I put my lips all on it.
Erythritol does that. And it has healthy fats, so you're not going to feel hungry, and you're going to lose that belly fat.
Man, that is good.
It's really delicious.
OK, I'm glad you like this, because if she didn't like this and she wanted to stick with her traditional latte, what would she have to do exercise-wise to work off the—
Well, I got 2 little moves. So should we come over here? Come join me. Come join me. Come on over here.
We're going to do 2 moves, because these moves are in the book.
We're gonna do a toe up, guys. Come join me. Come, Sarah. All right, so we're gonna do a toe up. So we're gonna squat down like this. We're gonna just do 2 moves. Squat down, shoulder width, you know, your legs shoulder width apart. Squat, hold, and then tippy toe up like you're a ballerina. Get those calves in there and back down. So you do this for a whole minute. Doesn't sound too bad.
Okay, yeah, that's—
No, it will after a minute.
And so then you do that with a knee twist. So put your hands behind your shoulder. This, so the right elbow to the left knee. So twist, boom, right? Twist again, boom. You do this for a minute, but guess how long you've gotta do it for though, unfortunately. Guess how long? Well, 10 minutes.
10 minutes, 15?
I don't know.
$15.99, price point.
10 minutes, I'm going with.
Well, we didn't talk about how many calories were in her drink.
How many calories?
But you can't have that because check this out.
How many calories?
To undo those calories, I don't know if they can show that. So this is her traditional latte, 190.
Ew, Jennifer, don't.
I know.
So to undo that with these two moves, you'd have to do it, are you ready? For 35 minutes.
The toe-ups and the knee kicks?
Or it could be some other kind of vigorous activity, whether it's power walking through Times Square or something like that. Okay. But 35 minutes. So you get to pick 35 minutes or—
What do you pick?
The cruise control off.
Cruise control.
Oh! All right. I'm down for that.
OK, let's go over here. Jennifer saved my life. I know. OK.
Enjoy that latte because that is delicious. All right, and we have Natalie. Natalie's up next. And Natalie, what is your guilty pleasure?
I got cookies, baby.
Yeah.
Don't eat them. Don't eat them. No, no. They'll break your fast. You'll break your fasting?
I'm not fasting.
If you assume Michael's fasting, we've got to break that.
You know, I got to taste them both to see, you know— That's true. That's a good point.
He's doing it for the job.
I've got a swap. Yes, so check out the swap. We've got chocolate— double chocolate pudding. It's made with unsweetened Jell-O and heavy, heavy cream.
Thank you.
So not half and half. You whip it up, you get this, and it's delicious. And basically, you're going to save some calories because your chocolate— your cookie has this many calories. You guys ready to see? Take a look at this. Drum roll for the calorie count here.
Cookie Pass! Whoa!
So I know. So I got 2 moves for you. I'll show them to you. They're easy.
Really quick.
Really quick.
Really quick. I'm mad I ate the cookie now.
I know, I know, right? So we're gonna do an ab twist. So start center and then go to the left, twist left. To the center, then right, to the center, back. And you repeat this for a whole minute. Back to center, back to center, right? And then we're gonna do a one-legged lunge. So then you do a lunge for a minute. Lunge, back.
So how many—
back to center.
So the workout—
are you ready?
—is 318 calories.
Are you ready? How many?
How long?
60 minutes or— Oh, no! 60 minutes or you get the double chocolate pudding. Natalie, what do you take? I'll stay here.
Cruise control, baby! Woo-hoo! Hey, hey, Jorge, you—
And you can have this while you're fasting, and you won't break your fast. You can do this late night.
And you won't break your fast. We got to say, both of Jorge's recipes, the swap-out recipes, they're going to be available on our Facebook page. And Jorge's new book, The Cruise Control Diet, is available today in bookstores everywhere. And on top of that, everyone in our audience is going home with a copy of the book.
