Josh Frank, owner of Austin's Blue Starlight Mini Urban Drive-In, created a private one-car dinner theater where you pick the movie, get a screen filling your window, and a carhop tray with dinner for two. He revived a 1950s idea that originally used 200 mini-screens but failed, now rebuilt with modern technology.

Hi, this is Josh Frank, the owner, creator, and inventor of the Blue Starlight Mini Urban Drive-In in Austin, Texas. I'm here today to share with you my latest invention from the Mini Urban Drive-In lab. This is the Blue Starlight Patron Pick Mini Dinner Theater. It takes one car, it has one screen that fills your window, you get a real drive-in speaker for your window, and it comes with dinner for 2, and you can add additional people as you wish. As well, you get a real carhop tray from the '50s put in your windshield with your dinner on it. The great thing about it is you can pick any movie we're currently showing. You buy the ticket, it's for the whole mini screen area, it's your movie, your night. It's a great way to spend a night out. I'm real excited about this new little invention, which is actually based on 1950s technology that was created by this one crazy drive-in owner who created 200 mini screens for 200 cars. Like that. It did not last very long because he used one projection system with 200 mini eyes, lens eyes, that shot out to each screen. So whenever there was a rumble in the neighborhood, all 200 of the lenses shifted. Well, it's a new age, we have modern technology, so I took that idea and used modern technology in order to actually make it something that could work and be really special for people wanting a truly one-of-a-kind movie night at our Blue Starlight. Come check it out sometime. Thanks and see you soon from the Blue Starlight.
