Transcript excerpt from a Dr. Joy Kong podcast episode introducing IBU (extracorporeal blood oxygenation and ozonation). Speakers define IBU, contrast it with dialysis, and note Dr. Yoshi Rahm’s extensive experience (≈2,000 procedures) and clinical qualifications to discuss the treatment.
Doctor Yoshi has done probably close to 2,000 of these procedures on patients, and maybe the provider that has done the most of this procedure in this country, so he's very qualified to speak about this particular treatment. And what is IBU exactly?
Yeah, good. Great. Great question. So IBU stands for extracorporeal blood oxygenation and ozonation. A lot of people think of it as like a dialysis, and that's really just because we have blood coming out of one arm, going through this machine, and then coming back into the other. AR I But it's not dialysis at all. It's really just how do we get this huge surface area of our blood exposed to the oxygen ozone mixture? So we're going to. I got to go beyond what I was taught in medical school and residency, right? Because they're not giving nothing. There's nothing for ALS on that front, like zero.
Right? Just watch the decline. That's.
Watch the decline. Put you on a ventilator, that type of thing, right?
