Short YouTube interview (Joy Kong, MD) describing ketogenic diet basics (eliminating carbohydrates/sugar, prioritizing protein, using fat as a lever) and personal benefits: rapid improvement in depression, reduction in PCOS symptoms, and eventual significant weight loss once protein was emphasized.
You can explain to people exactly what keto means.
Eliminating, you know, carbohydrates and sugar, eating enough protein to, you know, keep your lean muscle mass, and then using fat as a lever.
So what happened to you after you switched to this keto form of eating?
I didn't lose weight right away, but my depression certainly lifted right away, and that's what kept me on the diet. I felt so much better mentally. My PCOS symptoms were going away. And eventually, like, once I realized I needed to focus more on protein rather than fat, that's when the weight just flew right off, more than what I ever thought I would ever lose.
There's no question it can be highly beneficial for a lot of people. But how long should you continue that? You know, is. Is that going to be a lifetime choice, or could that be a temporary solution to help your body heal.
