A short spoken segment from the YouTube video 'The Science of Meridians ⚡️' (Joy Kong, MD) where a speaker describes meridians as non-anatomic energy channels perceived via inward meditation. The speaker suggests ancient practitioners saw these channels with the "mind's eye," which led to their use in traditional practices, and argues Western medicine currently lacks the language to describe such spiritual phenomena but may eventually integrate medicine and spirituality.

Meridians are so interesting. Western science is trying to dissect where's the energy channel? I think that they're, they're realizing that there are flow of, of energies that are not anatomically doesn't go along with anatomical structures. And what I heard, how the origins of these meridians came about was in ancient times people meditate, you know, in a lot of traditional cultures, they go inward, trying to understand the physical world because they can't see it, touch it. So then they go inside, they use their mind's eye. I mean, this is, you know, woo, woo, right? But one day I believe medicine and spirituality will merge and we'll realize there is one and all Western medicine. The problem is it doesn't have language for spirituality, doesn't know how to explain it. They're beginning to, to figure out. But it's, it's maybe a different language. You may require to update your, your instrument or your, your language. So right now it's, it's really hard to merge the two. But in ancient times, when they go inward, they literally see with their mind's eye of these energy channels. So the ancient Chinese have seen it. So if they see. So there's a saying, seeing is believing. So if you see in your mind's eye, clearly staring in your face of all these energy channels, these meridians, then it's there. I, I saw it and that's how they, you know, started, I guess, utilizing those channels.
