Joy Kong, MD, discusses an LED light bed that claims to reduce pain and boost athletic performance. A weightlifter hit a personal best on squats after using it, and Kong says about half the NFL and military use the device for recovery.
When people start using the light bed, what do they usually notice first?
It depends on the issues a person has. What is bothering you tends to fall off and you notice it fell off. We've had a number of people who are weightlifters, power lifters. I had a story of a guy, he came back, he said, mike, I just did the light bed. I did a triple at my all time best weight on the squat. He goes, I wasn't even training as a powerlifter. You know, that does not happen. You're training, you're peaking, you're training, you're peaking. You're doing everything you can to get your best. This is what we see at lightbed. That's why, and half the NFL, that's why the military is using us, because we're able to enhance performance substantially. So again, you've got those two peaks. You have the performance peak, but you also have a pain relief peak. If you're in pain and that pain's gone, pretty good chance you're going to notice it. It might be two hours later when you're walking down the curb and you're going, wow, my feet should be hurting. What's going on? Try this with your, with your staff. Look at them before they get in the bed and then look at them when they come out.
