This is a YouTube video titled "Why do Doctors Talk Bad About Chiropractors? 🤔" containing a discussion between two speakers about the historical and ongoing tensions between medical doctors and chiropractors, including references to studies and historical events.
But there are a lot of MDs who are anti chiropractic.
Very much so.
Very much so. So why do you think there's such a sentiment against a chiropractic one?
I think that chiropractic will take away quite a bit of business from medical doctors where they would normally prescribe medications. They may not see them. And there's actually, I think it was in 2015 in the Journal of Spine, there was a study that was shown that they took about 8,000 people who were under work comp. And they found that 49% of the people who, if their first interaction was with an md, they went on to have surgery for their back, Whereas it was 1.9%, if I recall correctly, if their first contact was. Was with a chiropractor.
That's incredible.
I think that's part of it. And then the other part is back in the 70s that the AMA actually tried to bury chiropractic. They were sued by a group of chiropractors because their plot was actually discovered. And they lost the lawsuit. And the chiropractors said, we don't want any money from you. The only thing we want is you're going to pay the attorney's bills and you're going to make a public apology. They had started the Council on Quackery. That's what it was called. It was. They were trying to call us quacks.
The ama.
Yeah, the ama. That is something that still to this day haunts chiropractors. That's why they're called quacks. And you know what? Ignorance is a punishment. And they can live in that.
